Nico Di Angelo was a seriously injured demigod. He had lost his sister when he was very young, he found out on his own that his father is the king of the underworld (and that dad was not a very popular dude), and he had to fend for himself, unable to put his faith and trust into others, in fear of being abandoned. No one could figure the young man out. No one could even get close to the guy before he shut them out and stopped talking to them. Well, no one except __ , daughter of (god/goddess) and one hell of a mysterious girl. She was almost mysterious as the king of ghosts. She was allusive and only spoke when absolutely necessary. She was a pretty injured demigod as well. Very sad story for this one. Maybe thats why they worked well together. *** Nico sat in his cabin with his feet hanging over the side of his bed and his hands in his lap. He had done his daily chores already, and was planning on just staying alone for the rest of the day, trying to avoid the people whom were referred to as his "friends". "How idiotic. I don't have friends." He muttered to himself, shaking his head and running a hand through his already messy, dark hair.  The son of Hades stood from his bed and waved his hand through the air, causing a handful of tiny bones to rise through the floor boards and knit together, taking the form of an old field mouse. He lifted the skeletal creature and let it run around his hand with the corners of his lips shifting slightly upward. The peace, and concentration, was disrupted when a knock sounded on his door. The mouse fell apart and the bones turned to dust, disappearing once again. He growled and walked toward the wooden black door, whipping it open with a glare and a full rant ready in his head  to express his annoyance of being disturbed. Then all at once the anger melted away, and instead turned to confusion. There stood __, with tears streaming down her face. Before he could ask what happened, she held up her hand to keep him silent, then grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the woods. After the short walk, she leaned against a tree and wiped her eyes, sniffling loudly. "They're dead." She managed to get out before a new wave of silent tears burst out. Nico thought for a moment then understood who she was speaking of. She meant her mortal parent. Her (Mom/Dad) had been sick for a while and the illness must have finally caught up to them. "Gods...__ im so sorry." Nico broke his usual rule of "oh my gods dont touch me" and pulled the crying girl into his arms. Maybe he was wrong earlier. Maybe he didnt have friends. He had a best friend, and a major crush on this specific friend.  'Gods Nico. How much more cliché could you get? Falling in love with your best friend is to chick-flick-y.' He yelled at himself in his head. 'But shes amazing dude. how could you not fall for those (h/c) (h/l) locks. Or those big (e/c) eyes. Or that stunning hollywood smile.' He argued with himself. __ pulled away and sniffled, then laughed without humor. "You're all I've got now Neeks." She looked into his chocolate eyes and smiled sadly. "Don't call me that." He said blankly. He bit his lip, then grabbed her hands. "Ill always be here for you, you know that right?" "Of course! Thats your role as my best friend dummy!" __ wiped her eyes and took a deep breath, then let it out in a long sigh. "Thanks Neeks-" "I don't like that nickname." "For being there for me. I love you." She kissed his cheek, and his pale skin automatically flushed dark pink. Nico's heart thundered in his chest, and his stomach erupted into a sweet mess of fluttering butterflies. He had waited so long to hear to words, and now that they were said, he only craved for it to be spoken more often. __ started to walk away, but the boy, quicker than thought possible, grabbed her arm and spun her body to face him, then pressed his lips to her. As quick as it had started, it ended, and he backed away quickly. "I love you too..." Nico blushed impossibly darker and waited for rejection. __'s mouth had dropped open in shock, and her eyes were unblinking. She shook her head to focus back in, then blushed. "That was a very short kiss." Nico was the one shocked now. He smiled, which hurt, as the expression was unusual on his face, and laughed quietly. "I was expecting rejection. Not a complaint. You never cease to surprise me _l/n_." "Ive gotta keep you on your toes right?" She smirked and stepped in front of him. "Lets make a deal dead head. Ill be your girlfriend...if..." He raised an eyebrow and gestured for __ to go on. She leaned in to whisper in his ear,"If you let me know who you really are. Open your soul to me." His chest filled with anxiety and his head with frustration. GodDAMNIT __ way to scare the kid! He took a deep breath, then held the sides of her face. "Lets see if this gives you an answer." He pressed his mouth to hers again, this time a little more forceful and about 1000 times more confidently. Her lips curled into an amused smile, and she pulled away. "Good choice. Now cmon. Its almost lunch." Nico grabbed her hand and they started off for the dining pavilion where all campers were beginning to flood in and settle down. Eyes were automatically cast downwards towards their hands, and squeals sounded off from the Aphrodite table. Nico smiled to himself and looked down at their linked fingers. Maybe he did belong somewhere. He belonged with the girl who had lost just as much as he. With the girl who faces dangers just like he. With the girl whom he put his full trust in. With the girl, the thief, who stole his most broken, yet valuable possession. With the girl whom had stolen his heart.
