Nico closed his eyes and rested his head against your shoulder; you keep your arms around him, and embrace his affection.

"You'll be fine tomorrow, Neeks," you promise. You kiss his head lightly.

He hums in response, "I know. I just don't want to have to have you take care of me afterwards."

"It's top-surgery, Neeks--it's surgery in general. It's okay to need some help."

"But they are not putting me in a wheelchair."

"Nico-"

"Nope. I walk into that hospital on my own two feet, I walk out on my own two feet."

I sigh, knowing it's useless to fight. "But I'll always be here for you to lean on."

He kissed my neck, "I know. And I love you for it."
