The Kiss

Ship: Valdangelo
Type: primarily Angst

Leo pressed his lips against Nico's. With a hand sliding to Nico's hand, holding it closely, they kissed there for a moment, eyes closed and caught up in each other. But, after a few seconds that felt like eternity while it was happening, Nico pulled away sharply and jerked his hand free. He took a deep breath.

"Sorry-"

"No," Nico interrupted him. "It's okay. I just wasn't as ready as I thought I was."

Leo smiled, That means he was thinking about it. "Don't worry. So... what video game are we playing?"

The two continued their hangout. There were a few smirks from Leo, and a few blushes from Nico, but they tried to keep it the same as always.

That was our first kiss, Nico kept thinking the whole time however. On his way back home, there were no video games to distract himself from it.

Leo. And him. Kissed. For the first time. Ever.

Nico took a deep breath, He likes me... Fuck....

Nico began running his hand through his hair. Love never worked out before. What if it was an accident anyways? Anxious thoughts circled in his mind.

The next day, Leo waved at him from the classroom door. The professor was just getting his computer out, and Nico had sat in the back. Nico waved shyly at Leo but barely looked in his way, turning around and scooting back so that whoever sat next to him was not in front of him. The empty seat sat lonely as Leo got the hint, sitting on the other side of the room.

Nico felt like crying, but that's what was best, right? It was only yesterday they kissed. He needed some time, that's all, and if Leo really liked him, he'd wait at least a day.

The day after that, Nico felt better about the situation. He was freaked out, but maybe it'd be okay this time. Leo was sweet, right?

He walked into class and Leo was already there. He smiled widely and waved at him. Leo shrugged him off, eyes going to somebody else.

What the heck? Nico thought. Did he think I was mad at him?

He walks up to Leo but whoever he was looking at, a girl with blonde hair, sat on his desk in front of me.

"Hey, baby," she leaned over and kissed his cheek.

I rolled my eyes until Leo respond, "Hey, beautiful."

What?

He took the girl's hand, kissing her knuckle, "You look great today."

That's not typical arrogant flirting, Nico thought. He's... he's for real.

Nico inhaled deeply, looking down at his shoes. This is my fault, isn't it?

He sat down at a different seat today.
