Third Person P.O.V.

Jason pulled Hazel's friendly face aside. Maybe he should just ask Nico head-on, but what if he offends the guy when talking to him, or makes it obvious he already knows?

"Hazel, I was listening to Nico's boyfriend the other day," he began, looking into Hazel's confused eyes. "He said something about Nico being...transgender?"

Hazel's smile dropped. How am I supposed to reply to this? she thought.

"I just... why didn't he say anything before?" Jason took her expression as a yes.

"He was scared you wouldn't support him, like most people. Like his ex-boyfriend Percy." Hazel calmly explains, hesitant.

Suddenly, Jason's face sweetens, "Why wouldn't I support him, Haze?"
