Wizards? I've had Worse.
DISCLAIMER. THERE. I'M DONE. ^_______^
Harry
BOOM BOOM BOOM.
Uncle Vernon came sliding through the small doorway. Petunia was hiding behind him, and Dudley sat up on the couch and stared wide eyed at the door.
Nico's face was emotionless, but in his eyes you could tell that he was slightly surprised.
We got up slowly and stood in the corner by the fireplace. The shadows seemed to cling to Nico as he moved in front of me.
The door was suddenly knocked out of its frame, and it landed on the stone floor with a clatter. Looming in the doorway stood a giant of a man. His beard was long and tangled with his hair, and warm brown eyes peeked out through his mane.
Beside me, Nico hissed like a demon kitten, reaching at his side for something that wasn't there.
The giant stepped inside and picked up the door and put it back on its hinges.
"Well then, its quite a storm out there, ain't it? I could use a cuppa tea, wouldn't mind anythin a bit stronger, mind you."
The man looked towards the corner where the shadows were thick as blood.
"Hello, there Harry. Would ya mind if I could just see ya a bit better, and ask yer..... interesting friend to calm down a bit?"
Nico glared at him. The big man shivered and backed away. But the shadows slunk back to their normal positions.
"Who are you?" we said. Nico glanced at me and nodded. That meant that he was letting me speak for both of us.
"The names Rubeus Hagrid. Keeper of the Keys at Hogwarts, you'll know all about that of course..."The giant kept rambling while I gave him a skeptical look.
I looked at Nico, but he just shrugged and wrapped himself in a wave of darkness.
Nico
I watched from the corner as the giant tried to explain something rather important. Well I tried, anyway.
After a while of trying to pay attention, I was sucked backwards into the shadows.
It surprised me, so of course I made a noise.
I tried to grab on to something but the walls were the only thing.
"Nico? Nico, no-" Harry said.
My vision went dim as I was sucked into the darkness.
****line**Break****
Another dream? Great.
I was back in the throne room with my brother.
"What now? I was totally busy doing nothing..."
He seemed surprised. "Nico? Where are you?"
I rolled my eyes. "Turn around, idiot."
He turned around quickly, his wings folding in sharply.
"Oh... yeah, I knew that." Right.
"So anyway I want to tell you not to believe anything that Hagrid- that giant dude you just tried to pay attention to- don't listen to anything he says. Everything he says is a lie. Well, it is for you but not Harry. Its true about him."
"What? This makes no sense.Wait, before you start talking," I stopped him as his mouth opened.
"Don't try to explain here. I already decided that Harry will tell me exactly what's going on up there. Now just get to the point so I can leave."
He looked hurt. I wonder if he thought I cared?
"Well, you know how you like, can't remember anything from when you were little? And how you flinch or pass out or grow wings every time you do?" I glared at him.
"Get. To. The point."
"Well you sorta alreadygrewupandyouwereademigodandhadaterriblelifeandyourmomandsisterdiedandpeopledontrespectyouandtheycallyoucreepyandyouarereallydepressedandyoucantalktodeadpeopleandraiseanarmyofdeadsoldiersandyouwerealmostkilledlikeagazilliontimessopleasedonthurtme..."
"What?"
"Okay. You are a demigod. You're dad is Hades, god of the Underworld. I am you're brother, Thanantos. I accidentally gave you wings on purpose. You are the Ghost King. You will return to your natural form in about, hmmm.....one month."
Cue blank stare. Blink.
"You do know that I have no idea what you just said, right?" I asked.
He nodded. "It'll come back. Then I won't have to explain anything. Except maybe how you might still have wings after all that..."
He may be Death, but I'm still going to kill him. I stopped myself from growling like some feral animal.
"Fine. I don't know what you are talking about when you say 'natural form', but I'm hoping I get my memories back."
"Good. Now that we have that settled, you can finally leave. Only, one more thing that will make you want to kill somebody."
My vision started to fade.
"What...."
"You are like the heir to the throne, not me,"- he frowned at this-"because I have my own. Anyway here's your crown."
He held out his hand. A swirl of darkness formed and quickly disappeared, leaving a simple silver crown which was embedded with diamonds, emeralds, and what I easily recognized as rubies, except they were black.
I was yanked back harshly by shadows. Thanantos tossed the crown at me, and it landed squarely on my head.
"I've always wanted to do that." He laughed as the light disappeared.
Harry
"Me? A wizard? But... I'm me. I'm not a wizard." I shook my head.
"Really? Cause I'm pretty sure I'd want to be one after hearing what I am..."
"Nico!" I'd know that sass ANYWHERE. I turned around to see Nico laying on the floor with new clothes that are the deepest black. His shirt had a giant skull on the front. And this weird silver crown thing on his head.
As soon as I opened my mouth to ask he said, "Don't ask...just don't. My crazy brother kidnapped me just to tell me that Hagrid was telling you something. Idiot. But he also told me that I'm a pri—" He stopped what would have been a rant.
He looked at the Dursleys who were hiding behind the couch. A weird smile that was half angry and half insane creeped its way onto his face.
"Excuse me Harry, but I need to tell the Dursleys something." He walked around the couch to the corner they were hididng in.
Seeing that smile. I back away, toward the fireplace.
"Take your time."
Hagrid, who was staring confused at the angry child, was still sitting on the couch.
"Hagrid. You might want to step over here for the moment." He still looked confused.
"Listen to him Hagrid." Nico laughed.
OK. That got him up.
"Whas wrong wi' yer frien' there 'Arry?" He whispered.
I stayed silent.
Nico
As I neared the whales, The fattest ones eyes widened at the sight of the priceless crown on my head.Time to get creepy.
"Well. You look hungry."
He really did. He stared at that crown for so long, I was tempted to take it off and wave it in his nose to see if he follows it.
If Leo was here he would totally laugh so hard his hair would catch on fire— after a flash of pain I got a brief visual of a skinny Latino boy running around setting things on fire, laughing happily as someone who looked like a older version of me running after him with a water hose.
"Perseus Jackson, if you don't get your dumb ass over here and put out this freaking Santa's elf I will personally tell Annabeth that you are cheating on her!!!"
"Really? Are you trying to kill him Nico?"
Those words echo in my head.
That voice....knows my freaking name.
I noticed that this whole time the fat man was still stating at the crown.
"Oh. You want this?" I acted surprised.
"Where'd you get that? I bet he stole it!! Dad, I want it!" Dudley said.
I glared at him.
"Do you. Do you really." Its more of a statement.
He tried to hide behind his toothpick mother.
"No..." He squeaked.
"That's what I thought. And to answer your not-so-much-of-a-question, no I did not steal it." I rolled my eyes. I could practically feel Harry doing the same. I could also feel him wondering how I got it.
"To answer the question that your thinking Harry," I glanced at him, hearing Stay out of my head Or die. "This crown is in fact mine. No I didn't buy it. I didn't steal it. It is mine by heir." I grinned.
"Which means...... You have mistreated a Prince. Wait."
I walked over to Harry. The words were in my head somehow.
"I, Nico di Angelo, son of Hades, hereby claim Harry James Potter, heir to Ignotus Peverell, as my third sibling. If I ever fail, he will be the new Ghost King. The duties and experience will be passed to him so he may succeed. Now he will be given the blessing of Underworld children. Hades and Hecate please accept my champion."
I folded my arms ad waited. I grinned as the shadows shot forward, dragging a very confused Harry through the darkness, hopefully to my brother.
I turned to the giant.
"You can't tell anyone about this. Not even your precious Dumbledore."
What? I'm not a mind reader. I was just laying on the floor for a while, listening to the conversation until sharing my sarcasm.
Hagrid nodded hurriedly.
"Good." I said as Harry was thrown back out of the shadows.
His outfit had changed. He was now wearing white skinny jeans and a dark green button down shirt.
Of course he had a crown. It was silver like mine, with diamonds, emeralds, and Lapiz Lazuli gems.
"Bloody hell, that guy is annoying..." Harry stood up and brushed off his clothes. He looked over himself.
"Nice." I said.
He shook his head and came to stand beside me.
I turned to the Dursleys.
"Make that two princes." I said.
"There goes their dream of perfect lives and reputations..." Harry muttered as I laughed.
