Chapter 1: meet the silvers
First impression: a e s t h e t i c
I could probably rant for about three hours about how absolutely gorgeous your aesthetics are, but that would sort of defeat the purpose for this review, so I'm just going to say that I love your aesthetics and move on.
One of the things I loved most about this chapter were the descriptions. I could tell you spent a lot of time detailing every single thing that happened (especially during the party) and making sure to paint a rich, vivid picture for the audience's eyes. Needless to say, it worked exceptionally well and I found myself engrossed in Valentine's world.
Speaking of Valentine, she's an interesting character so far. I like how she isn't displayed as only a snobby rich girl, and the way that she exploits people and manipulates them really shows her true colors. She does fall into the 'rich, beautiful, cunning vixen' trope that's quite prominent in shows such as Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars, though. Speaking of those shows, I was getting a bit of a Gossip Girl vibe. Was it inspired in any way? Just curious.
There were several instances of technical errors that I noticed while reading such as a few missing words, several misuse of commas, and run on sentences. Because this chapter is quite long it's expected to have several mistakes, but I would advise you to go back and edit when you get the time.
Some of your paragraphs were quite long, and because I read it on my phone, it took up the entire screen on more than one occasion, which does tend to blur in front of my eyes after a while. I suspect that's also what happens to other mobile readers as well. My suggestion would be to make your paragraphs shorter so they're easier to read.
Overall, "meet the silvers" was a relatively strong opener to the story, introducing the audience to several main characters and also letting them get a feel of the style of writing. Nice job!
