01.01 - call me elliot

"Mr. Ackerman, we will be arriving in ten minutes," a familiar voice said in a respectful tone as June slowly opened his eyes only to be greeted by the sight of the interior of a car. Not just any car but one that obviously cost more than what many could afford.

Most would have trouble adjusting to the abrupt arrival into a new environment, but it was easy for June who knew much more than he should.

He knew where he was heading.

He knew who was talking to him.

Most importantly he knew who he was.

Oddly enough it was as if all this information was already programmed into him and all he had to do was search for the answers inside him. He had already integrated all the memories of the new body as a part of him.

For example, he knew that Elliot Ackerman was his new name, and he had more money to it than any seventeen-year-old should ever have, especially when the only reason he had it in the first place was that he was lucky enough to be the child of one the top billionaires in the world.

June, who for now would be called Elliot by many glanced to the left of him. He looked at the creature that accompanied him and who was currently very busy scratching his ear with his foot. As for the creature, he was very absorbed in his task that he had no time to notice the awakening of his traveler or else he would have stopped to speak with June but also out of embarrassment.

Can't.

Reach.

So.

Itcyyyy,

The bunny cutely grumbled in frustration when it's tiny legs couldn't reach the itchiest spot on him.

Elliot reached out without hesitation and started scratching the one spot Bonnie had missed. At first the bunny froze from the sudden contact, but it didn't take long for it to melt on the spot.

Thank you.

Elliot gave it one last scratch before moving his hand away. He eyes casually looked outside the window and noticed the blooming flowers on several trees that flew by as the car passed them.

After a moment, he turned his attention to the bunny who seemed to be waiting on him and together they communicated in their usual manner, after all they weren't alone and were still being accompanied by the chauffeur who couldn't see Elliot reach out to nothing but air but would for sure hear if Elliot spoke out loud.

Elliot Ackerman. Died before his predestined death. Is that correct.

Bonnies' head bobbled up and down in agreement.

Correct! I was able to determine that the cause of this world's collapse is 100% due to Elliot's death.

So, if I just survive until then, we're all good right?

Correct again! Your only job is to take over as Elliot and continue living as him until you've reached the end of his determined lifespan. It's okay if you're alive longer than what was predetermined but any less will trigger the preservation skills of the world. We aren't sure what caused the early death, but I am here to help you determine if you are risk of encountering any anomalies that could cause you to die early. Although, I don't have concrete information, I can do my best to help you by predicting situation.

Elliot decided to test out his companions' skill and asked, "what is the current chance that I will succeed?"

The bunny tilted its head to the left as it quick calculated the probability.

Ninety-five percent.

Hm. Elliot paused before mindlessly commenting again.

I didn't think it would be so high. And when was Elliot supposed to die?

In three months.

Before the two could continue their conversation, the bunny squeaked as it got startled when the car came to a stop and hurriedly climbed up Elliot's arm and into the hood part of the hoodie Elliot was currently wearing. It was as if a light breeze has touched his arm instead of the weight of a baby bunny as it scurried up his body.

Bonnie settled in place quite quickly and even would look comfortable to those who could see him if they had been able to.

No one should be able to see or hear me except for you but I'll stay here just in case.

The door closest to Elliot opened before he could touch it and he was greeted by his chauffeur. The former owner of the body and the chauffeur by the name of Gordon had known each other for over ten years and was one of the longest employed with the Ackerman's. He stood at six feet and made an amusing sight for those who saw the tall man bend down to greet his employer's son.

"We have arrived," Gordon said and promptly moved to the side to give Elliot space.

Elliot unhurriedly stretched a long leg out the vehicle. When he stood his full height beside Gordon, he was only off by an inch or two which was sight for the other students nearby who were departing their vehicles as well. Although everyone had known each other for several years as classmates, no one was quite used to the sight of Elliot Ackerman. Besides his height, he had several other eye-catching attributes that had earned him the title of the best-looking and charming eleventh year student of the school. Most were even sure that he could earn that same title even if he were against the whole academy especially with those clear brown eyes of his that seemed to almost glimmer at times.

Elliot ignored the fleeting looks as he looked up at the large building in front of him.

"Elliot!" a loud voice yelled out.

Incoming from the left was a friend of Elliot so he naturally smiled like his memory showed.

"Kai!" Elliot shouted back jokingly at his friend who hurried to meet up with him.

"I wonder what's going on." Kai voiced out his concerns as the two moved closer to the entrance. Although students typically moved to their usual classrooms first at the start of the new year, this year was different as teachers started guiding students to the auditorium. It was different from how they usually ran the first day of the school year.

Seacoast Academy was one of the finest escalators schools known for the peculiar way it ran things. Usually, students were admitted from a young age and only left the school when they were off to prestigious universities. For this reason, many of the classmates grew up together as those in their classrooms never changed. The only thing that changed were the teachers that rotated in and out of the classrooms. For the routine of around ten years to change, something big was happening.

"Not sure," Elliot said. Feeling that something was off already, he couldn't help but ask again his only true companion in this lonely world.

What is the current chance that I will succeed?

Bonnie stirred around a little as he answered.

Ninety-four percent.

Elliot slightly frowned. He had a feeling that things weren't as simple as he thought but maybe they never were from the beginning.
