It's Nice to Meet You
"Izzy, promise me that you'll be good for Kaede while we're gone okay?" Kagome told her child. Her and Inuyasha had to go slay a demon and had to leave their 4-year old in the care of Lady Kaede.
Izayoi smiled at her Mother with her toothy grin. "I will Mommy," she replied. "I promise!"
Kagome smiled at her bumbling little girl before giving her a kiss on the head. Inuyasha then walked up to Izayoi and rubbed her head. "Make sure you stay in tonight," Inuyasha instructed. "It's a half moon."
"Okay Daddy, I will," The night of the half-moon was when Izayoi became completely human. Since she wasn't that skilled with her spiritual powers Izzy was a target for demons, or a meal.
Kagome and Inuyasha waved to Izayoi and Kaede one more time before Kagome got on Inuyasha's back and Inuyasha ran out in the direction of the demon that needed to be slain.
Izayoi sighed as she watched her parents leave. She didn't like it when they left since that meant they wouldn't be back for a few days. It made her feel alone since her friends, Ayuma, Kayuma, and Mochigo lived in the village of demon slayers, which so far from Kaede's village.
Meanwhile, not far outside the village, a demon lurked in the dark, knowing that her next meal was not too far away.
Meanwhile, not too far from the village, a young wolf demon had slipped out of the caves during the night to go exploring. He loved running, much like his Father, and wanted to explore all the different areas. Little did he know that he was going to save the life of a young girl.
***********
Izayoi slept on the cot that Kaede had laid out for her. As she slept, her dog ears had vanished, along with her claws, fangs, and white strips of hair. Now she looked to be a regular human.
As she snored in ger sleep, the demon began its assault on the village. It slithered through the village before rushing towards Kaede's hut, whiched caused villagers to awaken and ring the bell. Kaede and Izayoi soon were awakened by this. "What's going on Lady Kaede?" Izayoi asked as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.
Kaede got up from her cot as quickly as possible and went outside to see that a familiar looking centipede was attacking the village. "It can't be," Kaede stated. "How do ye live Mistress Centipede?"
"I don't know myself," Mistress Centipede admitted. That's when Izzy peeked her head out of the hut. She looked up at Mistress Centipede and let out a small yelp that caught the demon's attention. Mistress Centipede smirked. "But I do know that that's the child of the girl who had the sacred jewel! I can smell her blood flowing through that child's body!"
"Stay inside child," Kaede instructed. "Mistress Centipede is going after you."
Izayoi nodded and hid in the house. Mistress Centipede smirked and then charged at Kaede, who fired arrows at the demon. Mistress Centipede ducked though and then smacked Kaede to the ground before bursting into the hut and getting a hold of Izayoi. The child screamed in fear as she was squeezed. "Mommy! Daddy! Help me!" She cried out.
"I shall enjoy hearing you scream child," Mistress Centipede chucked as she slithered back into the forest with Izzy.
**********
Izayoi tried her best to break free of Mistress Centipede but found it very difficult. Soon Mistress Centipede came to a stop and then smirked. "W-What are you going to do to me?" Izayoi stuttered.
"I will hold you hostage until I get what I want; the sacred jewel," Mistress Centipede explained.
"But the jewel is gone! Mommy wished it away!"
"Then I guess I'll just have to eat you!" Izayoi gulped as Mistress Centipede's mouth opened wider. Then she began to cry.
"Someone help me please!"
Suddenly, from out of nowhere, someone kicked Mistress Centipede and caused her to release Izayoi. Izzy closed her eyes and screamed as she fell but soon felt someone catch her. Izayoi opened her eyes slowly to see that a boy that looked to be about a year older had caught her. He stared into her brown eyes and she stared into his blue ones. "Are you okay?" he asked her.
"Yeah, I'm okay," Izayoi answered.
As the boy placed her on the ground, Mistress Centipede charged at him, causing the boy to jump in the air. He then kicked the Centipede in the face and caused her to go unconscious. He then ran back over to Izayoi and picked her up. "Hold on," he told her as he ran away as fast as he could.
After running for a while, the boy stopped by a river. "That was close," Izzy sighed as she was placed on the ground.
The boy then sat down next to Izayoi. "My name's Tsuyo, what's your name?"
"I'm Izayoi."
"Why was that demon after you?"
"She was after me because my Mommy and Daddy beat her before. She wanted revenge."
"Really? That's crazy. So tell me, are you a human?"
Izzy shook her head. "I'm half-human, half-demon."
Tsuyo looked at Izayoi as if she were crazy. He then sniffed her. "You don't look, or smell, like a hlaf-breed."
"What's a half-breed?"
"You know, half-human, half-demon. We say half-breed."
"Oh."
That's when Izayoi's stomach growled. "I'm hungry," she said sheepishly.
"Well I'll be right back." Tsuyo ran off, leaving Izayoi in the dust, literally. He came back a few minutes later with a boar on his shoulder. He then placed it on the ground in front of Izayoi. "Dig in."
Izayoi cringed at the smell of the carcass. "No thanks."
"Suit yourself." Tsuyo then began eating, making Izayoi want to vomit.
An hour later, Izayoi and Tsuyo were gazing up at the stars. "They're so pretty," Izayoi stated.
"They sure are," Tsuyo said.
"Daddy always takes me outside to see the stars. Mommy comes with us too."
"My Dad is leader of the wolf-demon tribe. He's in charge and he told me that that I'll be in charge one day."
"That's a big responsibility."
Tsuyo nodded.
"Hey, I have an idea," Izayoi walked over to a tree and picked up a sharp rock. She then wrote her name on the trunk. "This way, we can always remember where we first met. Come over here and write your name Tsuyo."
"Okay." Tsuyo got up and then wrote his name. "There."
Izzy smiled at Tsuyo and then gave him a kiss on the cheek. Tsuyo blushed and then wiped the kiss off. "Why'd you do that?"
"I like you."
"...Girls are weird."
That's when Izayoi saw the sun rising. "Oh man, I gotta get back to the village. " She was about to run when Tsuyo grabbed her hand and then placed her on his back.
"Hang on tight," Tsuyo then ran as fast as he could until he reached the outskirts of the village. He placed Izayoi down and then watched as her demonic features came back as the sun rose. "Woah, you are a half-breed."
Izayoi nodded.
"Well I gotta go. See ya!" With that being said, Tsuyo then ran off towards the mountains.
************
Years later, Izayoi had her eyes covered as Tsuyo led her through the woods. "Where are we going?" She asked him.
"It's a surprise," Tsuyo told her. "Just keep your eyes covered."
After a while of walking, Tsuyo stopped in front of a tree. He then moved Izayoi's hands away from her closed eyes. "Okay Izayoi, open them."
Izayoi did and saw that in the tree in front of her was Tsuyo's and her name carved into the tree. "Oh Tsuyo, I completely forgot about this place. I thought it was all a dream."
"It was no dream." Tsuyo took a hold of Izzy's hands. "I remember this place, but it was so long ago that I thought it was just a dream or an illusion. I came back to it and found our names in the tree. Then it all came back to me."
"Oh Tsuyo." Izayoi smiled as she hugged Tsuyo around the waist. She smiled as she remembered the night she met her future love.
