You were in New York, hanging out with your best friend, Derick Brassard. It was a late February night, with snow falling onto the ground. About a year ago, you started to develop feelings for Derick. You thought he only saw you as a best friend, so you didn't say anything. Tonight he was unusually quiet, which isn't like him. He is normally chatty, always something to say.  The two of you were walking through the park near the apartment you shared. Suddenly he stopped walking, got onto his hands and knees and dug frantically in the snow. You were worried.

"Babe, what did you drop?" You ask him.

"I dropped my lucky coin!" Derick moaned. You had to laugh. He had had this 'lucky coin' ever since you two ever met, which was when you were 5. He claims its lucky, but one time you took it and broke your wrist.

"For the last time, Derick. It's not lucky, it's unlucky!" You exclaimed.

"Well it's lucky to me." Derick said and begun to pout, on the ground, in the middle on the park. After he finished pouting, he resumed him search. You sat down on a nearby bench to watch Derick dig through the snow. To you, it was quite entertaining. After a 10 minute search, and clearing all the snow around Derick. He cried out in joy.

"I found it! Woah! Y/N, come see what's on it!" Derick exclaimed. You run over the see a dazzling gold necklace.

"That's not your lucky coin..." You say, confused.

"Y/N, after all these years of spending time with you, I have begun to develop feelings for you. I love your laugh, you smile and your sass." You smirk. "I was wondering if you would like to be my girlfriend?" Derick asked, holding out the necklace in front of him. You nod excitedly, and he walks towards you to put it on. Before he puts it on, you deliver a hard punch to his arm. He yelped in pain.

"What was that for?" Derick asked while rubbing his arm.

"Eh, you lied to me, and no one lies to the great Y/N!" You declare. Derick laughed and picked you up, bridal style and carried you, all the way back to the apartment.
