The First Meeting- James Neal

Isabella's POV:

It was a dark and stormy night. But, I didn't care.  I had just witnessed the greatest game possible between the Colorado Avalanche and the Nashville Predators.  The final score was 4-3 in a Predators victory, and I was so excited! My favorite player, James Neal, scored the buzzer beating game winning goal!

So, I was walking back to my apartment, away from Bridgestone Arena and towards Broadway. As I walked, I heard my phone buzz.  I looked down and saw that it was my roomate, Miranda, texting me. WAS RHAY AN EPIC GAME OR NOT!

I replied back, IT WAS TOTALLY EPIC!

I KNOW, RIGHT?!? What are your plans for the rest of the evening?

Probably get home ASAPWeather's not looking pretty right- Before I could finish my message, I ran into someone.

The stranger said to me, "Are you alright?"

I saw that this stranger wasn't a stranger to me.  It was the Real Deal himself, James Neal.  Of all the people I had to run into and make a fool out of myself, I had to do it in front of my idol? I smiled back at him and said, "Yeah, and it's my fault anyway.  I shouldn't be texting and walking."

James then laughed and said, "Well, it can be done, it just takes a long time to master.  I'm James."

He then bent his hand down towards me and I took it.  I was finally able to see his blue-gray eyes and I smiled and said, "I'm Isabella."

I could now see my idol face to face and I was trying not to fangirl.  He smiled at me and said, "Isabella, a pretty name for a woman like you." Suddenly, the skies opened up, and he said, "Do you want to go wait out the storm in that coffee shop?"

"Sure!  I was going there anyway." I started to follow him and I was in disbelief of meeting-well more like running into-my idol.

We got into the coffee shop and he asked me, "Do you want anything?"

I looked at the menu and said, "I'll get it myself.  I got this."

He looked over and smiled at e, "Isabella, don't worry about it.  I need to repay you back after running into you somehow."

"Alright, I surrender." I then told the barista what I wanted and then James ordered.  Once we received our stuff, we sat down and started talking.  About any and everything, from hockey to embarrassing moments like earlier.

Finally, James asked, "So, why were you walking alone this late at night?"

"Well, my friend, the same one I was texting, couldn't come with me to the game tonight,  so, I walked to the arena by myself."

"Really? Where do you live at?"

"Well, I live a little past here.  My apartment is within walking distance of Bridgestone and  Broadway."

As I described the place to James, his eyes lit up and said, "I live there too!  What floor?"

"Lucky number 13." I laughed at that.

"How come we have never met each other before today?  I live on that same level!"

I smiled back and said, "No way!  That is ironic!"

We finished our food and James stood up and said to me, "Well, Isabella, do you want to walk home with me?"

Since we were going to the same place, I laughed a little and said, "Sure."

It felt like I had known James for practically my whole life.  We had so much in common, and I felt...safer around him.  As we walked, we talked about how we had never ran into each other.

The solution: I liked sleep, and James had to get up early, therefore, when I got up, he was already off to practice.

But, we made it to the complex and as we stepped onto the elevator, James said, "Well, tonight was amazing?  When will I see you again, Isabella?"

"Whenever you want to, or when you're not busy." I smiled at him.  "We live on the same floor after all."

"How about tomorrow at seven, I take you out somewhere?"

I smiled at him and said, "That's fine with me!"

The elevator finally stopped and we stepped off.  James and I were walking in the same direction, and I said, "Where do you live at exactly?"

I stopped right in front of my room door as he pointed to the room right across from my own, "Right here."  He turned around and started to laugh, "Well, isn't this ironic?"

I laughed and smiled as I thought about how to explain my night to Miranda.

"It sure is."
