Y/N's POV:

Finally! Today was the day where I go to the beach with my family! I race downstairs and see my step-dad dragging out bags to the car. I walk to him and smile, "Need any help loading those bags?"

He laughs, "Nope, but are you ready to go?"

"I'll go check to make sure I have everything ready to go." I start to walk back into the house with a smile that can't be wiped off of my face.

"Wait, Y/N! I wanted to let you know that I invited some guests on our vacation. Is that okay with you? I know it was just supposed to be a family vacation, but they really wanted to go-"

I hug him quickly, "Why sure! The more people, the merrier! Let's get this party started!" I then run back into the house to check my bags one last time, excited for the adventures that awaited me at the beach!

Eetu's POV:

I feel someone shaking me awake. The summer hockey league just ended and all I wanted to do was sleep the day away. My body ached from not having a break from the beginning of the winter season and I just wanted a good relaxing summer. I rolled back over, to try and ignore this person, but they did not give up.

I hear someone say, "Eetu, time to get up. It's almost time for our departure to the beach."

"Can't I go another time? Me tired!"

My father tosses the blankets off of me, "Nope, now get to packing! How could you forget our vacation with the Y/L/N's?"

"Maybe because no one told me about this, or decided to tell me when I was dead tired from playing hockey?"

"Well, did you ever complain about it? It paid off because you now have a scholarship to Northeastern University to play hockey for them!"

"Can I go back to bed now?"

My father opened the curtains in my bedroom, letting the sunshine come in, "Nope, now get ready. You can sleep in the car."

Well, I guess I better start packing then. At least I get to go to a place where it's nice and warm, I hope.

Y/N's POV:

"Ron, are we there yet?" I laughed as my sister, Lily, asked our step-dad for the fifth time in the past hour.

My mom turned around to face the two of us in the back and smiled, "Yes, Lily, we're almost there. Now, when we get there, you two are to not start trouble with your father's friends. Be polite and remember your manners, okay?"

I smiled, "I won't misbehave! I'm just excited to almost be at the beach!"

Lily giggled, "Maybe we'll see dolphins! And pretty seashells too! Can you help me collect them?"

"Sure Lily! But, first, we have to meet Ron's friends, okay?"

"Okay Y/N! Do you think they'll be nice?"

"I think they will be nice, Lily. You have nothing to worry about, okay?"

Ron, after what felt like a long time waiting, finally says to us, "We're here!"

Lily and I both fumble out of the car out of excitement. We ended up falling onto the carpet of soft sand, with Lily on top of me. Lily laughed and I couldn't help but join in! ! I look up and I see a girl run over to the two of us frantically, "Are you alright?" This girl was around Lily's age, and her blond hair sparkled in the sunlight.

Lily laughed, "I'm okay! Y/N, you okay?"

I take Lily off of my back, "Yes, Lily, I'm okay." I then turn towards the girl and smile, "Thank you for coming over to check on us..."

"Veera!"

I couldn't help but smile, "Awww! That's an adorable name! Lily, let's go over towards Ron and Mom."

Veera spoke up, "Oh! Those people are your parents?"

I nodded at her as Lily and I walked over to where our parents were standing. Veera points out, "There's my dad, mom and brothers!"

Ron waves at us, "Y/N! Lily! I want you to meet the Selannes!"

Lily and I walk over and I couldn't help but smile at them. Once I reached my father, I smiled at the group of people, "Nice to meet all of you!"

The oldest man looked at my step-dad, "James, I thought your step daughters would be as crazy as you were by now!"

"Oh no, Teemu, Y/N and Lily are pretty well behaved, thanks to Rose's discipline." My father looks down at Lily and I and smiles at us, "The only issue that we have is figuring out what's sarcastic or not."

I smile playfully at him, "Not nice Ron!" Teemu, Lily, Ron and I all laugh together. I was glad to meet Ron's friends because they're really nice people that I will get along with quite well!

I got to meet Teemu's wife and two of Veera's brothers! They were all friendly, or so I thought. Veera points out a boy that is staring out at the ocean with his arms crossed and sighs, "That's my other brother, Eetu. He's really grumpy. I don't want him to be grumpy on vacation."

I bent down to Veera and Lily's level, "Maybe I could try to make him smile."

Lily jumps up and down, "Yeah! That's a great idea! Y/N is great at making people happy!"

Veera looks up at me with puppy dog eyes, "Can you please do that?"

I nod, "No problem!" I start to walk over towards Eetu. I see the sun starting to set over the ocean and I take a deep breath in and taste the salted sea. I feel the warm soft sand underneath my feet as I approached Eetu and realize that I am here finally!

I stop a few feet away from Eetu and asked, "Are you okay?"

He turned towards me and I saw his brown eyes look into my own as he spoke, "Yes. I'm okay, can't you see that?"

"I'll take that as a no then. What's wrong?"

"Clearly, I've got plenty of problems. I'm not going to spill my secrets to a strange pretty girl!"

I covered up my laughter with a cough, "You think I'm pretty?"

"That's not the point. Point is, I don't wanna be here, I would much rather be at home, sleeping."

"But you just said that I'm pretty..."

"No, you're not pretty. In fact, you're pretty gorgeous."

I look at him, confusion written all over my face, "In what way do you mean that?"

Eetu turns towards me and smiles, "You can figure it out for yourself. I'm Eetu."

He holds out his hand for me to shake. I shake it while looking into his eyes, "Y/N. Nice to meet you!"

Eetu lets go of my hand and I couldn't help but smile. I have a feeling that this vacation will end up being a lot different than I thought. Not only will I bond with my step-dad, but I might be bonding with others as well. This is going to be quite an adventure!
