(A/N: hello readers welcome to the first chapter of the story, let's get a look at one of our protagonists of the book. Now let's begin)

Two days ago

??? P.O.V

(A/N: music)

"I ran outside where all I could see around my surroundings were nothing but destruction and death from the numerous corpses of the unfortunate monsters that were killed in the massacre. These monsters were my people and they were slaughtered by our worst enemy, Devils of Fire. Somehow, they managed to find our hideout and this beautiful landscape is now set on fire. I turned around and watch in horror as my home was crumbling down and set in flames, this couldn't be happening, I refuse to believe this. This kingdom that we call home, our safety, is now disappearing in front of our eyes"

???: You're highness !

"I heard someone calling me by my title, I turned and saw that it was one of the guards of my home. A bipedal snow leopard wearing an scratched armor and holding a shattered sword, the left side of his face had a slash mark while his left eye was missing, most likely from a Devil of Fire attack"

???: You're highness ! You can't stay here ! We need to get you out of here imme-

"Unfortunately his words was cut short as I watched him getting picked in the air by a large Devil of Fire, one that had the appearance of a bird of prey, his screams of agony could be heard as the murderous creature buried it's talons deep into his flesh. Now I needed to find my family and my friends and get them out of there before it was too late, unfortunately I didn't take in consideration the intelligence of the Devils of Fire as one of them managed to sneak up on me while I was getting distracted and soon tackled me on the ground with an inhumane speed. This Devil of Fire had the appearance of a large big cat, most likely a tiger and it's large paws prevented me from moving as I struggled to escape it's grip. However, before it could deliver the killing blow, a black tentacle impaled the creature through it's head causing blood to splatter all over my face and killing it. The lifeless body is then thrown away giving me the opportunity to stand up, I soon saw where the black tentacle came from, it came from my father"

???: Aya ! Get your sister, brother and friends out of here ! I'll hold them off !

"Said my father as he then confronted another Devil of Fire that looked like an elephant and stopped the large creature by holding it's tusks. I didn't waste time and quickly went to find my siblings and my friends, although not before getting confronted by another Devil of Fire, one that took the appearance of a bear. Despite standing on it's back legs making it taller than me, I wasn't intimidated, I proceeded to take out my weapon, a katana and then charged towards the larger creature who attempted to slash me with it's claws but not before I buried my katana in it's shoulder"

Present

3rd P.O.V

"Aya woke up abruptly sitting up and panting a bit from remembering this day, the day where she lost the place that she called home"

Aya Rena

Aya: Goddammit...

"She sighed and attempted to keep her head focused, even though this memory was one that would forever haunt her, she needed to stay strong and focus on what's important right now, no matter the odds. Now that she woke up, she noticed that both her sister and brother were nowhere to be seen"

Aya: Oh great. They went outside the cave, even though I told them to not go anywhere without me

"She stood up and proceeded to make her way outside of the cave where she was met by the bright morning of the landscape where she and her siblings have been staying. A large forest filled with a lot of greenery while the sounds of nature were being listened, it was quite surprising that such an environment could exist outside of her kingdom, making her wonder if more lands like these exist. Suddenly, her white cat like ears on the top of her head began twitching indicating that she was hearing something, and what she was hearing were the people she was looking for"

???: Big sis ! We got breakfast !

"Exclaimed happily Chloe, her young sister who was being followed by her young brother Spyro"

"Both siblings were making their way towards their big sister holding an handful of fruits that they were able to find in this forest. Aya was quite surprised, in fact, she was actually pretty proud by what her siblings have done"

Aya: Well, seems like you two are growing up

Chloe: Hey ! What does that mean ?

Aya: *giggles* it means that you did a good job at gathering food for our survival

Spyro: Thanks sis, and don't worry, those fruits are not poisonous

Aya: I don't think wild fruits have any effects on us compared to humans

Chloe: Speaking of that, are you sure it's a good idea to find human society ?

Aya: We have no choice. Staying here is way too dangerous with those Devils of Fire lurking around

Spyro: And I'm guessing we have to find dad and the others

Aya: That's the plan, but for now, let's just eat and then we'll continue with our path

"And with that, the three siblings proceeded to eat their breakfast and once they were done, they continued deeper into the woods. This was their third day in this environment and they were looking for a safe place to stay in, the forest was certainly not a good place for safety, especially with the murderous creatures lurking around. Devils of Fire, title given by the humans, were blood thirsty monsters that simply exist to kill and devour anything in sight. Despite taking the form of different types of living organisms, these creatures all have two things in common, a blood red skin and black soulless eyes. Perhaps the most terrifying attribute of these murderers is their intelligence, which is probably how they managed to find their home even though it was hidden from anything that serves as a threat to monsters, especially humans. Although right now it is not the moment to think about the now lost sanctuary, Aya had to take her siblings somewhere safe from any possible threat while also searching for her father and friends"

Chloe: You know, it sure is nice walking around this forest. It's beautiful and peaceful, even the sounds of nature are a thrill to listen

Spyro: I don't know if I like the emptiness around us. It's almost too quiet....too easy...

Aya: Let's just keep moving forward. Maybe we'll find a way out of this if we're fast enough

"As they were walking, Chloe suddenly let out a whimper of pain and then fell to her knees, her left leg was injured with a noticeable bruise on it, this was the result of attack back at their home and she has recovered from it yet. Both Aya and Spyro heard her and turned around to see what was happening"

Aya: Chloe ! Are you okay ?

Chloe: I'm fine..........just still hurting on one of my legs...

Spyro: We really need some sort of medicine to have you in good shape. Especially if it's been three days that you're still injured

Chloe: I'm fine, really. I can still walk

"Said the demon girl who attempted to stand up only to groan in pain as she ends up falling, fortunately her big sister caught her before she made contact with the ground and then proceeded to help her by carrying her in her back"

Chloe: *smiles* Thanks sis

Aya: That's what family is for

Chloe: Although is it necessary to give me a piggyback ride ? I'm not ten...

Aya: *smirks* But you're still my young sister

"Suddenly, a loud sound interrupted their little sisterly moment, it sounded like a roar, one coming from a monster"

(A/N: here's what the roar sounds like)

Spyro: I'm guessing we all heard that

Aya: Yeah. It's a probably a monster in trouble. Let's go

"They made their way to where they heard the roar and upon arriving at the location, they came across a monster and one that is quite unusual"

"This creature looked like a big cat, most specifically a leopard, although apart from being about the size of a lion, it was covered with sharp spikes and it's eyes were pale white. Blood was covered around it's body but it wasn't it's own and it looked to be shivering, almost like it was afraid of something"

Chloe: It is a monster ! We could help it

Aya: Hold on Chloe, we still need to be careful about this. Dad told us about outsiders and rogue monsters, it's best if you two just stay behind me

Spyro: Let me help Chloe

"Aya nods as she then proceeds to let Spyro help Chloe up by getting her down from her back and Chloe holds onto her young brother for support, Aya then slowly makes her way towards the leopard creature who soon noticed their presence. At first it didn't react, only just staring at them while trembling, Aya wasn't quite sure what it was thinking but she stayed in her guards and was prepared to take out her katana in case the situation got worse. The animal kept staring at her until it began to growl and soon got in a defensive pose"

Aya: It's okay big guy, we're not going to hurt you. We're lost and need help out of here, in fact, we're monsters just like you. We can help if you want

"She said with a calm and reassuring tone trying to make herself not look like a threat. However, the creature didn't seem convinced at her attempts as it kept growling and then unleashed it's claws out. Aya was starting to feel like she might not be in the good side of the creature and soon got a hold of her katana, getting ready for the creature to attack and attack it did as it roared and proceeded to charge towards her. Aya lunges herself at the animal who attempted to get a bite out of her but she avoided the sharp teeth of the creature by using her katana where the animal bit down"

Aya: I suggest you keep your juice down ! I don't want to do this as much as you don't !

"She yelled at the creature who growled back and then proceeds to throw her, Aya managed to land on the ground with no problem but was not prepared to get tackled by the animal who moved with incredible speed. The impact of the creature tackling her caused her to let go of her katana as the animal buried it's claws on her arms causing her to groan in pain"

Chloe: Aya !

"She heard her sister calling her name and she tried to fight back, she couldn't let herself be killed, she had to protect her family at all cost. However, the creature was too big and too strong for her, she watched in horror as the leopard was staring down her and getting ready to kill her. That was until the creature got hit in the shoulder by a sudden fireball that came from Spyro, the attack managed to launch the leopard off of Aya who stood up and goes to take her katana. The leopard after crashing down on the ground, stood up and glared at the siblings, the fireball left a nasty burn mark on the creature's shoulder and one that was painful. Taking in account that one of them has abilities, the leopard creature decides that it wasn't worth attacking the siblings and then proceeds to run away, disappearing deep into the woods"

Chloe: Are you okay ?

Aya: I'm fine

Spyro: You sure ? Because your arms are bleeding

"Aya looks at her arms noticing the claws marks and how heavily she was bleeding"

Aya: *sighs* We'll have to be careful next time. But for now, let's just keep moving while I stop the bleeding. I got a feeling that it would a long journey before we get out of this forest...
