20 Confession?
Part 20 Confession?
Khushi didn't want to think unnecessary. Arnav would have said that to encourage her because she could reach heights through her hard work. Khushi took it positively.
Khushi played with Burger. She raised her hand, and Burger tried to touch her hand. She smiled, hugging Burger.
Arnav came looking at them smilingly.
"It seems Burger also liked you," Arnav said with a double meaning, but Khushi just smiled.
"Don't you get fresh?"
Khushi shrugged her shoulders off.
"No need... you always look fresh," he added.
"It's because I'm a sports girl," She said without taking a second.
"Means?" he frowned.
"Being sports personalities, we won't get tired easily and will always be fresh. You know that..."
Arnav turned his face sideways and murmured,
"I don't think she will understand me..."
"Did you say something?"
"I said you are so understanding..." he said without a smile.
Khushi smiled.
"I wish we could attend a national meet soon," Arnav said.
Khushi looked at him.
"Do you know why?"
She nodded no.
"To wipe your inferiority complex. You will start feeling superior if you win a National medal. Mark my words."
"Just because I win a medal, I won't feel superior... I will take it as an encouragement and try to get more medals and achieve big..."
"That's nice to hear. You know what, Khushi? No one will take your victory easily. Everyone will try to get your friendship. People will feel proud to say themselves as your relatives. Last but not least, a few more companies will compete to sponsor you..."
Cutting him,
"And they will back off if they get to know you are my sponsor", she said.
"No way, Khushi. You don't know about people. Not everyone is like you. Companies will strive with all their might to show themselves superior. They will try to trap you with more privileges. If you get such a chance, don't miss it," he said genuinely.
"You are talking about business, and I'm not a business personality..."
"So what, Khushi? Chance will not knock on your door often."
"But, it already knocked on my door. It's enough for me."
"Khushi..." he rolled his eyes.
"Arnavji, I told you my stand. It won't change."
"Too much gratitude is not good, Khushi. People will think you are a fool."
"Let them think anything. Who cares?"
"Won't you?"
She nodded no.
"Why won't you want to accept the other sponsor?"
"When I ran barefoot, no one recognised me but you. So, I don't want to accept other's favours."
"Khushi, no achiever is respected before they achieve something. But no achiever has refused to take sponsors, as you said. It's all common..."
"Just because it became common, it can't be normal. Let me be abnormal..." she smiled.
"You know what? I like to argue with you because you do not give up easily," Arnav smiled.
HP brought their dinner to the table.
"Let's have dinner" He brought her to the table and pulled a chair.
"Thanks..." Khushi took a seat.
Arnav sat next to her.
Mutton curry and boiled eggs were kept on the table. Arnav took a plate and served her mutton pieces and eggs.
"You should have eaten roti or rice with curry so far, right?" Arnav asked.
Khushi nodded yes, pressing her lips.
"Roti and rice are carbohydrate contents. It will stuff our stomachs, but we can't get the energy we need. Overeating them is not good. That's why sportsmen should not prefer rice and roti," he advised.
"But it's too hard to eat ONLY meat and eggs without rice or roti," Khushi said, making a face.
Arnav smiled.
"Ok, if you want, have one roti," he said, keeping one on her plate.
Khushi ate it smilingly. Arnav saw her and thought something.
"Khushi, I pulled the chair to show my gentlemanship."
Khushi nodded yes, chewing the food.
"What about women? Are not you guys gentle?" he teased.
"Men are stronger than women. So, they must show how gentle they are. We... women... no need to show how gentle we are because we are ALWAYS gentle... unlike men," she answered thoughtfully.
Arnav laughed.
"Will you apply the same to Sheetal also?"
Khushi stopped eating. She didn't know what to say.
"There are many ungentle women in the world, Khushi. You should agree with it."
"I agree..." she said.
"What will you do if Sheetal tries to HIT you in any way?" he asked.
Khushi was silent because she had not thought about it.
"Tell her you are my girlfriend..."
"Then, she will hit me harder," Khushi said, swallowing the egg.
"Do you think so?"
"Mmm, didn't you say not every woman is gentle?"
Khushi was silent because she knew what he was hinting at.
"Will you be gentle with those who are not gentle?" he asked.
"I will always be Khushi... if I start changing accordingly, I will lose my nature."
"Oh..."
"For your information, I didn't say Khushi means GENTLE."
Arnav was taken aback.
"What do you mean? Are not you gentle?"
"Didn't you say not everyone is gentle...?" she said, controlling her laughter.
Arnav raised his brows.
"Means, will you fight?"
"Of course, yes..."
"Really?"
"Yeah... not only me. Everyone fights in their life."
Arnav huffed in relief.
"Are you talking about life?"
"Is not it a field to fight?"
Arnav nodded yes, chuckling.
"You are right. This is the biggest WAR field where we can't give excuses to skip fighting."
Khushi nodded yes. Arnav's facial expression changed, seeing Sheetal entering RM. This was what he was waiting for. This was why he brought Khushi to RM. He immediately averted his gaze. Sheetal looked at them and was shocked to see Khushi in RM having dinner with Arnav.
"Khushi, don't look behind..." he said in a thin tone.
Khushi looked at him, not frowning.
"Don't turn..." he said again.
"Why?"
"Sheetal is here..."
Khushi slightly moved her pupils to the corner of her eyes.
"Don't react... be calm..."
Khushi nodded. Arnav tucked her hair lovingly, not glancing at Sheetal, but he could tell she was fuming.
"I like you so much, Khushi. I want to spend my life with you. I will be happy if you are with me. I have never had anyone in my life for myself so far. I want you to be the one. I will be happy if you accept my love."
Khushi looked at him without blinking, even though she thought he spoke to her like that for Sheetal.
Arnav looked at Sheetal, standing like a statue motionlessly, and Khushi, whose condition was the same. He smiled inwardly.
"I'm glad I got a chance to treat you well. Since I met you, I have been waiting for this chance. I wanted to confess my heart to you, but I wanted to do it at home. That's why I brought you here. I hope you will accept me... will you?"
Khushi didn't know whether she should say yes or no. She blinked her eyes cutely.
"I can understand... it would be a big blow to you because you had not expected this. I, too, didn't want to open it up soon, but from the time Sheetal(loudly) played a dirty game to keep you away from me, I decided not to delay. I analysed the issue and concluded. So, I have no hesitation in letting you know my heart."
Sheetal stood, clutching her breath. She didn't expect her drama to backfire. Her action made Arnav decide something she didn't want. It was clear that she dug her own grave. She should not have taken such a foolish step. She had allowed the low-class girl to have dinner with Arnav while sitting in his dining room. More than that, he was ready to make her his queen. Sheetal could not bear it. She turned to leave Rm and took a step. Arnav saw that and said,
"I love you, Khushi."
More than Sheetal, Khushi was shocked hearing that.
To be continued...
