Debris-stream

Breezy day.

The trees are freeing leaves,
confetti-ing and tissue-ing and petal-ing
like children dropping objects from bridge into stream.

The relief
of imminent release
is tangible, stirring - they are transferring rootedness into reverie.

I can feel it.

Oh, they might feign
demurring disdain,
arthritic creak,
ship groan dismay
but they
are disguising glee;
preparing to
anchor aweigh,
to slipstream
full steam eddy
in a whirring wake.

Can you feel it, too?

Feel the laminar flow* beginning to grow, leaves shuffling, sliding, play-carding
and... then...
and... then...

wheeeeeeeeeee - debriiiiiiiiiiiis-streeeeeeeeeam.

* In fluid dynamics, laminar flow (or streamline flow) occurs when a fluid flows in parallel layers, with no disruption between the layers.[
