Old Times
"The city's huge, how the hell are we supposed to find him before the symbiotes do something to him?!" Mark snapped in frustration, his leg bouncing up and down impatiently as he sat.
"Language. Besides, the Quinnjet has a scanner we can use to track his suit, so we should be able to find him quickly." Steve assured him.
"I don't think we need the scanner." Peter stated, his face paling as he stared out the window.
Sean and the others followed his gaze to see the venom symbiotes clustered on top of the old Avengers tower now abandoned and empty, Tyler restrained by their inky black grip on his arms and legs.
Wordlessly, Steve landed the Quinnjet onto the landing platform and lowered the landing ramp, exchanging glances with the others.
"What's the plan?" Steve prompted.
"Hey Tyler back." Mark declared as he boldly strode down the ramp.
Sean, Peter, and Steve scrambled out after him, ready to defend him.
But the symbiotes didn't react.
Instead, they released Tyler and allowed Mark to pull him away from danger and towards the other heroes.
"Thanks." Tyler nodded in appreciation.
"Why aren't they attacking? What's happening?" Peter frowned in confusion.
"I made a deal with the symbiotes while we were fighting them at Avengers Mansion. They let my friends and family go, they get to use me as a host and never have to leave." Mark explained slowly with a sad smile.
"I'll never be as strong as you Dad, but at least I have a chance to be at least half of the hero you are." Mark continued as he stepped back from Tyler towards the symbiotes.
"Mark don't, I'm sorry for not telling you the truth!" Tyler cried as he was gently pushed away by Mark.
"It's okay, I'm just glad you're all safe for good." Mark replied as the symbiotes crawled up his legs, covering his entire body in black.
"Tell Amy I love her." Mark whispered before the blackness covered his face, black gooey tentacles extending from his back as he let out an inhuman ear piercing scream.
"We gotta go now!" Peter yelled as he dragged Sean towards the jet.
"I'm not leaving my son Peter!" Steve protested as he reached towards him.
The creature that was once Mark easily slapped Steve aside with his hand, sending him skidding across the metal floor before sliding off of the building.
"Shit!" Sean cursed as he shot a web towards him, managing to catch his foot and pull him back up.
Tyler managed to coax Steve into leaving Mark until they found a solution, closing the ramp after they were aboard.
Before they could take off, one of the tentacles wrapped around the ship and tossed it through the air like a toy.
"Everyone grab a parachute by the vehicle ramp!" Steve barked as he darted to the back of the jet, handing people parachutes before opening the hatch.
"Oh no no no I can't do this!" Sean yelped in fear.
"Yes you can because you have to, now go!" Peter replied, shoving Sean off of the jet before jumping after him with Steve and Tyler in tow.
Tyler jumped out without hesitation, using his suit to fly through the air by the others while Sean flailed through the air and screamed.
"I'M GONNA DIE!" Sean yelled as his body grew steadily closer and closer to the busy street below.
"Just stick by us, you'll be fine!" Steve promised.
"Parachute now!" Peter called out.
Steve and Peter pulled the cords on their parachutes, causing them to open up and send them up higher in the air a few feet away from Sean.
Sean tugged on his cord, feeling his panic mount as the cord remained unmoving.
"Come on!" Sean pleaded desperately as he frantically tugged as hard as he could on the cord.
All of the color drained from his face when the cord snapped off in his hand.
"My parachute broke!" Sean cried as he continued free-falling at an alarming rate towards the ground.
Sean could hear the cars below as well as his own screams, closing his eyes as he braced himself for pain.
"Oh wait, I have webs." Sean remembered aloud, shooting a web out towards a roof.
The web latched on and allowed him to swing over the traffic, his feet nearly able to graze the tops of the cars.
"WHOO!" Sean cheered as he swung up to the top of the building, safely landing on the roof.
He watched as the others floated to land beside him, seeming to be relieved to see him.
"That was close." Peter remarked.
"That's what makes it exciting." Sean countered.
"Um, guys? I think we've got problems." Tyler interjected, gesturing down below where Mark was smashing everything in sight, using powers none of them even knew he had.
"Wait a minute, the retreat at Avengers Mansion, it was because they had managed to posses everyone there just long enough to gain the ability to use them once they found a new host!" Peter realized aloud with wide eyes.
"Lucky for you three that we happen to have the same powers than it."
The trio turned around to see Iron Man, Robin, Felix, Natasha, Falcon, and Thor behind them.
"Just like old times, huh Cap?" Iron Man mused with a side glance towards the hero.
"Just like old times Stark." Steve smirked as he readied his shield.
Sean and Peter shot each other glances before the group jumped down to the street to face Mark and stop the symbiotes for good.
