|Shaylee Love| 

It’s been a couple weeks since the sleepover with Xavier. Not that it was the last sleepover, but it was the last one outside. I found out that the thing that bumped the tent was actually a ball that had been blown from the wind. That just brought Xavier to hysterics once again and horrible jokes aimed at me. No I will not repeat them, they are much too embarrassing.

Oh my eye’s okay incase you were wondering. The skittle didn’t render my eye useless and I was able to see 100% still. OH and of course the permanent maker marks are finally gone! 

Anyways…

So today is September 2nd, the second last day of summer vacation. Depressing, I know. I was currently still laying in my bed all wrapped up in my covers. It was still pretty early and today I just had to go out with Avery, Liam and of course Xavier to get our school stuff. Avery and I also need to go and buy our first day of school outfits together. It was a ritual that we did every year since ninth grade, and yes we forced Liam to come along as well. We needed a guy’s opinion, much to his dismay. 

I cuddled Teddibea closer to my body and took a deep breath. If only I could stay in bed all day, I would be the happiest 17 year old girl in the world. I’m not kidding, I love my sleep. This morning I woke up freezing cold, I was only wearing short shorts and a spaghetti strap and my blanket was on the floor. So I grabbed it and curled up under the covers and that is where I am now.

“To-o-uch
You get this kind of ru-u-ush

I groaned into the mattress, that song was my ringtone for my phone whenever Avery was calling she was a major directioner. I don’t want to pick it up! That means I have to leave the comfort and warmth of my bed! I groaned again and threw off the comforter. Instantly my body was hit freezing cold air, I shivered before hopping out of my bed and trotting over to where my phone and charger was but first I opened the curtains and immediately sunlight poured into the room, making the room bright instead of dark.

“Hello?” I said once I picked up the call. 

“SHAYLEE!!!!” Avery screeched through the phone making me wince slightly at how loud she was. It was too early for me to be dealing with loud noises!

“Too loud Ave, too loud” I whined as I flopped back down onto my bed, lying on my stomach. Not the same, the cold air had already made my once warm bed cold. 

“Do you know what time it is!?” she asked. I lifted my head and looked at the clock “Um… it’s like 12:30pm” I answered. Avery made a disapproving sound before she returned to yelling at me “EXACTLY!! You and Xavier were supposed to meet Liam and me here at 11:00! You are an hour and a half late! So get your lazy asses up and hurry up!!” She demanded before hanging up the phone.

I sighed and dropped the phone onto the mattress. I wonder what Xavier was doing, I’m surprised he wasn’t the one waking me up. I pushed myself off of the bed and walked over to the window that faced his room. Casually I looked over to see what he was doing, what I saw made my heart melt a little bit. Xavier was still sleeping and he looked absolutely adorable. His hair was an untidy mess and of course he was sleeping without a shirt but his face looked so childlike and peaceful that it made me want to go over and hug the life out of him. 

But of course that’s not what I did.

I walked over to my bed to grab my phone before sauntering back to the window. I scrolled through my contacts until I found Xavier’s number. I called his number and waited to see him pick up the phone. 

Briiiing!

He twitched a couple times. 

Briiiiing!

Then his hand shot out and started to roam around for his phone, while keeping his eyes closed by the way. 

Briiiing!

Finally with a groan he get’s up and looks for his phone. Holy shiznit. He was only wearing boxers, oh lord why did he have to look so good after waking up? My eyes racked over his body and I blushed when I saw his sexy eight pack, seriously I need to learn to become immune to his glorious… delicious… stunning… beautiful… muscular abdomen. 

I snapped put of my thoughts and watched as Xavier smirked when he saw it was me calling. Instantly his gaze snapped to mine, an amused twinkle was in his eyes. I gave him a cheeky grin and mouth Pick up the phone! He gave me a nod before finally answering the call.

“Morning baby cakes” his sleepy voice trailed through the phone. 

OMFG. Why does he have to sound so… sexy in the morning? Seriously I sound like a duck while he gets to sound like an angel! That is not fair. Not fair at all.

“Uh… Morning Zave” I stuttered out. He leaned against the window and we stared at each other as we spoke.  “So why are you calling me this morning? I would have preferred if you came over and woke me up” he teased while sending over a wink. I blushed and rolled my eyes “I just woke up stupid, I wasn’t going to come over in my P.J’s” I retorted. 

“Trust me I wouldn’t have minded” he murmured. I watched his eyes roam over my form and I realized just how exposed I actually was. I felt my cheeks heat up again and I quickly turned around so I could find my robe. It was under my bed so I ran over and bent down quickly to pick it up before throwing it over my body and tying it firmly around my waist. I sighed and walked back to the window and placed the phone back to my ear.

“Aw princess why’d you go and do that? I was really starting to enjoy the view” he teased, letting the smirk come over his face. I rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue out at him “You are such a perv” I muttered, placing a hand on my hip. Xavier gave a little shrug and a devilish look “You know you love it” he teased. I rolled my eyes and chose not to comment, maybe I did but that didn’t mean he needed to know. Xavier without his… Xavierness is like The Vampire Diaries without Ian Somerhalder. 

Just not possible and not a very appealing thing to think about.

“Anyways, I was calling because we are late. We’re supposed to meet up with Liam and Avery an hour an a half ago!” I exclaimed. Xavier looked at the time and he shrugged “Eh, they won’t be too heartbroken calm down Shay” he said nonchalantly. I rolled my eyes “Well Avery woke me up this morning and screamed in my ear. Why don’t we get ready and just meet them there okay? I suggested. I saw Xavier run a hand through his hair and make it even messier. 

How does he manage to still look good?

Xavier looked at me and smirked “It’s a gift princess” he replied. I blushed, I said that out loud didn’t I? Well that’s embarrassing. “Shut up” I groaned. Xavier’s laughed filled the phone “You’re the one who said it not me” he said with a wink. I rolled my eyes “Whatever” I muttered. “Well princess I’m going to take a shower now but hey you’re welcome to join me” he said giving me a suggestive look. I groaned and rolled my eyes “In your dreams East, in your dreams” I replied giving him a playful glare. 

Xavier smirked and “Every night babe.” I rolled my eyes “You would say that” I muttered. “I’ll meet you in half an hour?” I asked. Xavier nodded “I’ll be over in a few, don’t forget to leave those curtains open” he teased. I rolled my eyes “Not likely East” then before he could say anything I hung up the phone. I saw Xavier give me a pout so I rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue out at him before closing the curtains. Immediately my phone buzzed and of course it was Xavier.

To: Shaybear

Fr: Xavier- The sexiest man alive

You’re so mean ;( Depriving me of my Shayleebear time. 

I laughed quietly then rolled my eyes. Of course he would say that. 

To: Zave

Fr: Shaylee 

Go shower Xavier, you can have ‘Shayleebear’ time later.

Is what I replied back, then without checking for a reply I left and went to go and take a shower.

When I finished my shower I went into my room and trailed into my closet to pick my outfit. I decided to wear my casual short lace dress that was in a blush pink colour with my brown braided leather belt then paired that with my favourite tan leather western style ankle boots. I put my usual eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara on and for accessories I had some diamond studs and my usual leather friendship bracelets. My hair was curled slightly at the ends and I checked myself over one more time before grabbing my small Union Jack messenger bag and placing my phone and wallet inside. Then I made my way down the stairs. 

When I got to the kitchen I wasn’t surprised when I saw Xavier sitting on the island happily munching on some bacon that my mom had cooked. “Morning mom” I greeted as I kissed her on the cheek before going to sit next to Xavier. “What no good morning kiss for me?” Xavier asked with a pout. I rolled my eyes and playfully shoved his arm “Shut up and eat your bacon” I commanded. “Shaylee, don’t be rude!” my mother exclaimed as she lightly hit me with the towel. I rolled my eyes and grabbed an apple “Sorry mommy dearest” I said sarcastically.

My mom shook her head at me before giving me a pointed look “Is that all you’re going to eat?” she asked as she watched me eat my apple. I shrugged “I’ll pick something up from the mall, I promise” I told her. My mom sighed before turning towards Xavier “Xavier honey would mind making sure Shaylee keeps her promise? You can use any means necessary” my mom asked/ told him sweetly. Xavier nodded and shot me a smirk “Sure Mrs. L, I’ll make sure Shayleebear eats!” he told her, giving her one of his killer smile. My mom grinned “You know you can call me Renee, I’ve known you for your whole life! You’re practically my son! Thanks sweet pea, I know I can count on you to take care of my baby girl, she can be so out of it sometimes! I wonder how she can go out by herself! One time we were shopping and she wasn’t watching where she was going and fell right into the garbage can” she told him while shooting me a grin when Xavier started to laugh. 

It was no secret that I was a complete klutz but seriously she didn’t have to tell him that!  Xavier knew me long enough to know I was a klutzilla!

I groaned while a blush made its way onto my face “Mom!” I moaned out willing for her to go away and stop embarrassing me. “I’m sorry honey but really you need to be more careful, remember last time I sent you somewhere on your own? It was to the grocery store to buy some pa-” I cut her off, that was a story that Xavier did not need to hear. “Mom! Stop it please!” I begged. My mom laughed “Sorry honey bee I didn’t mean to embarrass you! Okay well you kids have fun now! Tell Avery and Liam I say hi alright? Be safe, oh and Shaylee please stick with Xavier I don’t want anything to happen. Okay?” she said giving me a pointed look. I sighed and understood what she meant “Yes mum” I muttered. Xavier shot me a confused look and I just waved my hand dismissively, it’s not really a story I like to tell. 

It wasn’t like it was bad or anything but it was pretty scary. It’s actually a pretty common story that happens to a lot of girls, it was late and I was standing outside of Starbucks waiting for Liam so we could go over to Avery’s house. As I was waiting some drunk guy came up to me and started to make advances, obviously I started to tell him no and started to walk into Starbucks but unfortunately for me the guy was a lot stronger and began to drag me into a nearby alley. One hand was over my mouth so I couldn’t scream while the other one had a constricted hold around my body, kind of like a one armed bear hug.

I of course was trying to get out of his grip but he managed to bring me into the alley. Now let me tell you this guys hands loved to roam. I tried kicking and screaming but he overpowered me and kicked me around a bit, even adding a couple of punches when I wasn’t cooperating. I was scared shitless by this point and started to cooperate with tears streaming down my face. He was about to well… rape me but luckily Liam had found me by then and beat the crap out of the guy. 

Yeah… not one of my favourite moments in my 17 years of life.

“See what I mean Xavier? Sometimes she is completely clueless.” My mom’s voice commented, making me snap out of my thoughts. I blushed and said “What?” Xavier laughed while my mom playfully shook her head at me. “I’m just going to go now, by honey bee! I love you!” my mom said as she wrapped me in a hug and kissed my forehead. “Bye mom, love you too” I said back to her while returning the embrace.

“Bye Xavier, take care sweetie” she said while kissing his forehead as well before flittering out of the room. I sighed, my mom was so weird sometimes. “See ya Renee!” he called out to her just as the door shut. I quickly finished off my apple and hopped off the chair, making my way towards the garbage can to throw out the core. When I was finished with that I walked to the sink to wash my sticky hands.

I made a face at the plate of bacon that was left on the stove for Trevor. I did not understand how people could eat that nasty food. I heard Xavier laugh so I turned the tap off and quickly dried my hands on the towel before turning to look at him. “What?” I asked. Xavier chuckled again before shaking his head “Still have a fear of bacon sweetheart?” he asked sounding very amused. I blushed slightly “I do not fear bacon, I just find it disgusting” I replied. I began to walk over to the door so I could grab my keys. 

I heard Xavier place his plate in the sink and quickly wash it before walking out of the kitchen minutes later. I couldn’t help my eyes as the roamed over his form, taking in what he looked like today. Xavier was wearing his usual combat boots with jeans, a shirt and his leather jacket. Of course he looked like a freaking model as he casually walked towards me and that made me feel pretty insecure about my outfit. I glanced in the mirror and nervously smoothed out my dress and fixed my hair a little bit.

“Shaylee, you look beautiful. Stop worrying” Xavier said, placing a warm hand on my wrist to stop my frantic fixing. I hadn’t realized that he had appeared behind me. I flushed and pulled my wrist away “Thanks” I muttered. Xavier shot me a grin before reaching out has hand. “What?” I asked, “Pass me your keys” he said. “What? No! I’m driving!” I exclaimed clutching my keys closer to me. Xavier smirked and began to advance towards me “We can do this the easy way… or we can do this the tickling way” he stated, waggling his fingers for emphasis. My eyes widened and I practically threw the keys towards him “Here!” I squeaked. Xavier laughed “I knew you’d see things my way” he replied, sending me a wink.

I rolled my eyes and muttered “Whatever.” Xavier opened the door and did a little mock bow “Milady” he said, sounding all posh. I let a small laugh escape and gave him a mock curtsy in return “Why thank you kind sir” I mocked right back before strutting out the door. I heard Xavier laugh from behind me before hearing the small click of the lock. 

Then we climbed into my car and I sent a quick text telling Avery we were on our way.

Once we stepped into the mall I practically dragged Xavier over to the food court, knowing that’s where Avery and Liam were. Sure enough once we were in seeing distance I spotted my red haired best friend spring up from her seat and barrel towards me.

“SHAYLEE!!!” she screeched out, causing the people around her to give her funny looks. “Hey Aves!” I greeted just as excited. She finally reached me and practically tackled me in a hug, “I MISSED YOU!!” she yelled in my ear. I winced and laughed “I missed you too!!” I said back but just not as loud. Xavier and Liam did they weird man hug type thing as they greeted each other. Avery pulled away and quickly turned towards Xavier “Xavier East, fancy seeing you again!” she said as she looked him over.

“Nice seeing you too Collins” Xavier replied giving her a grin. Avery grinned back and tackled him in a hug “I hope your being nice to my Shaylee!!” she exclaimed after they pulled away. “Hii Liam” I greeted as I gave him a hug. “Hey Shay” he said, returning the hug. “LIAM GIVE ME BACK MY BEST FRIEND!!” Avery yelled as she brought me in for another hug. I laughed “Come on Avery I kind of need to breathe here” I teased. Avery pulled away and sent me a look clearly telling me she wanted to talk to me alone and the way her eyes were flickering between Xavier and me, I knew exactly what she wanted to talk about.

“Okay boys, Shaylee and I are going to go off on our own for a bit. I need girl time! We’ll meet back here sometime later. East text Shaylee later! Kay bye!” she informed everyone. Once the last word left Avery’s mouth she practically dragged me away without hearing what the boys were going to say. I looked back and saw Xavier was smirking at me and gave me a mock wave, don’t miss me too much he mouthed. I rolled my eyes playfully and let a grin slip on my face I’ll try I mouthed back and sending him a little wink before turning back around.

I looked at Avery and saw she was giving me a smirk. I groaned “Don’t say it” I warned. Avery laughed “You… like him!!” she whisper yelled. I groaned and felt my cheeks flame “I do not!” I hissed back. Avery snorted and gave me a knowing look as we stepped into Forever 21. “You so do! Don’t even try to deny it!” she told me. I sighed “Aves I do not, we’re just friends. Well becoming friends anyways” I said to her. Avery laughed “I saw the way he was looking at you when you guys stepped in.” she informed me.

“So what? It doesn’t mean anything maybe there was a bug in my hair or something! People can look at others for no reason” I said as I browsed through the dresses. Avery snorted “Right that’s why he was glaring at Liam when he hugged you” she said sarcastically pulling out a cute rose print tee. I nodded my head “That’s cute, wear it with jean shorts and that black hat over there.” I suggested. Avery grinned “You always have the best outfit ideas” she said with a grin before rushing over to grab the jeans and hat I had pointed out.

Avery paused for a moment. “Don’t think we’re done talking missy. Clothes first and boys second” she said. I sighed in defeat “Fine, fine, fine. Now go and try this on. I want to see how you look” I said pushing her towards the change room. Avery grinned at me before shooting into one of the stalls to change, she paused and stuck her head out of the door.

“So… have you guys kissed yet?” she asked with a smirk, I groaned “Avery!” I exclaimed. She laughed and closed the door, not commenting back. I knew I would have to tell her about the bet sooner or later but I think I’m going to go with later. Suddenly I felt my phone vibrate in my bag and I quickly pulled it out. Huh… it was a text from Xavier.

Blue, green, red or purple?

Well… that was an odd text.

To: Xavier- the sexiest man alive

From: Shaybear

For what?

Not even a minute later I got a response.

To: Shaybear

From: Xavier- the sexiest man alive

Don’t worry about it ;) just tell me your favourite colour out of the four. I’m thinking you’re going to say red right?

A grin plastered itself onto my face. He was such a confusing boy sometimes.

To: Xavier- the sexist man alive

From: Shaybear

Then why did you even ask? :P You already know my second favourite colour is red!

Avery stepped out of the change room and did a little pose for me. I laughed “It looks good, I like it” I said giving her two thumbs up. Avery grinned “I think I’m going to get the shirt and hat, I have a pair of these shorts at home. They make my legs look sexy” she said while checking herself over in the mirror and giving me a cheeky grin. I laughed “I have to agree with you there” I admitted. “Thanks darling!” she said before vanishing back into the change room.

Just wanted an excuse to talk to you, I’ll see you later Shaybear xx

I laughed and felt a faint blush come onto my face. He wasn’t even here and he managed to make me flustered.

“Talking to Xavier?” Avery teased. I let out a little squeal and almost dropped my phone, she was leaning against the change room and giving me a smirk. I blushed deeper and shoved my phone into my bag “Maybe…” I told her as I casually looked at a pair of earrings, trying to hide my embarrassment. Avery laughed and pulled me towards the cash “You need to spill! I haven’t heard anything from you yet! Where’s the details? Except I don’t think I want all of the details…” she said giving me a suggestive look.

I rolled my eyes and playfully shoved her. “Shut up, you know I wouldn’t do that!” I exclaimed. Avery pouted “That’s no fun, Xavier grew up fine” she said as she stressed the word fine. I rolled my eyes “Avery, don’t forget about Liam” I reminded her. Avery laughed “No need to get jealous Shay, I know Xavier’s yours. I can tell that crush never actually went away with him” she teased. I flushed “Avery!” I whined not really wanting to talk about this.

Avery sighed dramatically “Fine, be like that” she huffed and turned away from me. I groaned “Don’t do this please!” I pleaded. Avery ignored me and kept her face forward, we stood there in silence for a few more minutes. I desperately tried not to give in but I hated when people ignored me. I sighed “FINE! I’ll tell you what happened” I muttered reluctantly. Avery turned around and I saw there was a smirk on her face. “Yay!” she squealed as shy began to pay for her clothes.

I rolled my eyes and waited for her to get her bag. When she was finished we exited Forever 21 and began walking to Victoria’s Secret as I launched into my tale about my week with Xavier.

Judging by her reactions and her facial expressions she has a lot to say about this. I groaned inwardly, this was going to be a long shopping day…

And oddly enough… I found that I was missing Xavier.

Oh my gosh, what is happening to me?

I hope you enjoyed this chapter! It took me all day to write… it’s like 11:00pm and I haven’t even started my science homework! …ah well I’ll start it now then finish it tomorrow.
