Newt was down in his case (which was in brother's empty flat and him and Tina weren't supposed to be home for another 15 minutes, he doubled checked.) when all of a sudden the creatures started acting on edge.  Soon after that, Newt heard his case open.  

"This can't be good," he thought as he grabbed his wand and heading up toward the exit.

"Now, now Mr. Scamander. It's not very nice to walk up to people with your wand pointed at them, I trust Dumbledore taught you this. "  Newt stilled at this eerily familiar voice. It couldn't be who Newt thought it was, he was locked up at the Ministry.  But a few seconds later, the mystery person was revealed as the one and only Grindelwald.

"Dumbledore taught me to never let my guard down, Grindelwald.  And what are you doing here? I trust you know that I didn't get my obscurial back after you sentenced Tina and I to death and took away my case."

"I broke out. You don't think I was there for fun, do you? I'm here because you, and all your creatures of course, could prove very useful in the fight for the greater good."

"And why would I join you willingly?" Newt asked.

"I didn't think you would, but maybe after some... persuasion."

"Don't even think I'll let you hurt my creatures."

"Expelliarmus!" Newt's wand flew toward Grindelwald. "Torturing what people love is no way to convince them to join you, is it? No, I was thinking I need to save the fun for you. Crucio!" Grindelwald said calmly and then watched gleefully as Newt screamed and writhed on the ground from pain.  After a few minutes, Grindelwald decided that was enough.

"That gets old after a while. Oh! How about Insendio!" Grindelwald laughed as Newt yelped from being burned by fire.

"Aguamenti. Is that not fun? Oh...How about Levicorpus?!" Newt was then suspended in the air by his ankles.  Grindelwald flicked his wand up and down and watched as Newt was hoisted into the air and then slammed down hard. Another minute passes before this is stopped. Newt shakily looks up at Grindelwald with his newly broken bones and spits at his feet.

"Still need more convincing? Ok then. Stupefy!" Newt is thrown back and knocked out.

Out of nowhere, Newt's nundu races in and attacks Grindelwald because he was hurting Newt. After a bit, the nundu decides it's done enough and leaves a mangled, dead body behind.

A couple minutes after Grindelwald is killed, Tina and Theseus enter the case looking for Newt. Theseus finds Newt bruised and bloody body first with Grindelwald's dead one next to it.

"Tina! I know where Grindelwald disappeared to! And I found Newt!" Expecting the worst, Tina runs over to Theseus. First she sees a satisfied nundu, then a dead Grindelwald, and last the bloody Newt.

"We need to take him to St. Mungo's!" And so they did. After they told the nurses what happened, Newt was quickly rushed into a room to be taken care of. 

"He has several broken bones, including spine fractures, so he shouldn't, and can't move until that heals. Consider him lucky, not many people can survive getting tortured by Grindelwald." At that they heard a small moan.

"I don't feel very lucky. Merlin, did that hurt!" 

"Newt! You're awake!" Tina yelled and hugged Newt tight. 

"Ow!" 

"Oops! Sorry... I'm just so happy your okay!"

Theseus spoke up. "You will be telling us what happened so the doctor can help you, brother." 

Newt, knowing better than to argue, agreed.

"You're lucky the nundu had your back," Theseus said.

"The nundu?" Newt questioned.

"Yes. I reckon the nundu heard your screams and bring the predator he is, killed Grindelwald."

"Remind me to thank Timothy when I get out of here." 

"You named the nundu Timothy?!"
