Before he knew it, his paternity leave was over.

It was the best two weeks he ever had. He got to spend his time with the ones he loved most dearly.

But now, Hotshot leaned against the doorway to Starlight's room. He had already said goodnight to his little femme and was now watching his beautiful mate put her in her crib for recharge.

"Goodnight my little angel", Medix said as he gently kissed his daughter's little forehelm, "mommy loves you very much."

"Daddy loves you more", Hotshot said with a smirk.

Medix rolled his optics playfully as he watched his sweet little femme fall into deep recharge.

Once he knew she was safe and in recharge, he made his way over to his mate.

"It's a good thing she doesn't understand you yet", Medix smirked.

Hotshot chuckled softly as he wrapped his arm around his mate, "that means she can't understand you either."

He bursted out laughing as his mate took a swing at him.

Hotshot held his mate close as they laid in their berth.

Both of them not quite ready to fall into recharge.

"Primus I'm so glad I'm not sparked anymore", Medix said as he snuggled deeper into his mate, "now I can actually get closer to you without interference."

"Hey at least you looked adorable with your belly!", Hotshot said while giggling, "I'll never forget the day you had a panic attack when our Starlight dropped from your spark chamber to your gestation tank. Oh my gosh your little bump was so cute."

Medix rolled his optics playfully knowing full and well that he is going to listen to another rant from his mate.

"Remember when you started wearing my red and blue Cube varsity jacket when we were dating?", Hotshot asked.

"Of course. You gave it to me on our second anniversary", Medix chuckled softly, "even to this day it's still gigantic on me."

"Yeah I know. I keep altering it to fit me."

"Which translates to: I keep making it bigger just so my husband looks smaller when he wears it", Medix teased.

"Hey it's still super adorable. I always got a little giddy everytime you wore it out in public!"

"I mainly wore it to hide my bump, but that failed."

Hotshot giggled as he held his mate close, "I couldn't help it! I just had to kiss your belly!"

"And I presume you just had to coo as loudly as possible to our sparkling?"

"I had to let onlookers know that you were mine!"

"Yet the varsity jacket with your name stitched in cursive on the back that I wore wasn't enough? Or even our wedding rings?", Medix said as he held up his servo with the gold ring.

Hotshot immediately buried Medix's face into his chest, "you're pretty, babe!"

Medix bursted out laughing because he knew this was Hotshot's way of admitting that he was right.

Hotshot sighed in defeat as he looked at his giggly mate, "alright, I did it because I knew it would embarrass you."

"Yeah. I figured", Medix teased as he cupped his mate's cheekplate, "as revenge, I'm making you wear the baby carrier out in public!"

"Oh the horror!", Hotshot said dramatically, "Being forced to carry the universe's most precious sparkling! Please! Spare me!!"

They both immediately bursted out giggling as they held each other close again.

"I'm gonna miss you sweetspark...", Medix said as he snuggled his mate, "I wish you could have more time for your leave."

"Me too", Hotshot said as he kissed his mate's helm, "but I'm the leader of our team. I can't stay away from that. Plus, Wedge said that the Recruits miss me."

"Yet here I am at the firehouse taking this long leave and-"

Hotshot stopped him, "you need to be here honey. Our sparkling is so dependent on you. How many times am I going to repeat this?"

Medix stayed silent.

"The Recruits know and respect why you'll be gone. But there's no harm in visiting them every once in a while."

"Okay..."

Hotshot then looked over at the time, "alright honey, I need to get some recharge."

"Okay sweetspark", Medix said softly, "I'll get some recharge too."

Hotshot kissed his mate sweetly as they settled in, "goodnight Medix."

"Goodnight Hotshot", Medix said as he turned away from his mate so that they both faced the door, "I love you."

"I love you too", Hotshot said as he spooned his mate and fell into deep recharge.

Starlight giggled loudly as her daddy kissed her sweet face excessively. She then smiled widely as her daddy nuzzled their noses together.

Medix chuckled at the sight, "come on sweetspark, you're gonna be late for work."

"Oh alright", Hotshot teased as he kissed his daughter's forehelm, "you better be good for mommy while I'm gone, okay?"

Starlight only cooed happily.

"Atta girl", Hotshot said as he carefully handed her over to his mate.

"Have a good day sweetspark", Medix said as he kissed his mate while cradling their daughter, "tell the Recruits that I miss them."

"You too, and I will", Hotshot said as he headed toward the groundbridge with the rest of his team.

Starlight immediately bursted out crying at the sight of her daddy leaving, startling everyone in the process.

Medix tried calming her down as Hotshot sprinted over, immediately taking her into his giant arms as he cooed to her.

"Shh... shh... it's okay my little star. Daddy's coming back. Daddy will be back home soon. Don't worry, daddy will always come back for his baby girl."

Starlight immediately calmed down and nuzzled into him.

Hotshot held her for just a bit longer until it was really time for him to get going, "alright sweetie, I'm handing you back to mommy now. Daddy will be back home soon, so be good to mommy."

Starlight whimpered slightly as she was handed over to her mommy. She then calmed down slightly as her mother walked with her father to the groundbridge.

Hotshot held her tiny servos as one of his legs was already through the bridge, "daddy loves you so much", he said as he kissed her nose, "and daddy also loves your mommy!"

Medix bursted out laughing as his mate stole a kiss.

Starlight relaxed at the sight of her mommy being happy and content.

"Take care. Both of you", Hotshot said as he slowly backpedaled into the bridge, "see you tonight! Love you!"

"We love you too, sweetspark!", Medix yelled before the bridge closed completely. He then looked down at his precious daughter, "come on sweetie, let's go have some fun."

Starlight smiled as she nuzzled into her mommy.

Meanwhile, as soon as Hotshot entered into the Academy, he was met with a group tacklehug from all of his beloved students.

Hotshot returned home that night completely exhausted from his long day at work.

Back to back rescues along with a full day of teaching should be considered too cruel as a form of torture.

But now, he was ready to see his family.

He quickly said his goodnights to his team as he made his way to his berthroom.

The minute he stepped foot into his room, he almost passed out.

Before him was a sight he would never forget. On the berth laid his beautiful mate, recharging peacefully while wearing Hotshot's varsity jacket.

And on his mate's chest laid their precious little femme, recharging peacefully with the help of her daddy's scent from the jacket.

Hotshot smiled as he walked over to his little family, gently taking Starlight off of his mate's chest and into his arms.

Hotshot walked around the room quietly as he held his little femme against his broad chest, being mindful not to wake her and his mate from their recharge.

"Daddy's back home my little star", Hotshot said softly to his precious daughter, "just as promised."
