The New Soul
You feel like in a dream.
You see buttons.
One button reads 'RESET'.
You try to press the button.
...
...
...
"You need to be determined."
You aren't sure if what you heard was real.
...
You woke up on a bed of golden flowers.
They must have broken your fall.
You walk down the corridor.
You feel like something is missing.
You walk through the ruins.
You see a pile of dust.
You avoid stepping into piles of dust from feeling of respect.
You don't understand the feeling. But you listen to it.
You figured out the puzzles rather easily.
You found 20 g on the ground.
Pick it up?
You pick up the coins.
You walked into a room.
Spider donut 20 g.
Do you buy it?
You don't believe the sign but you put the coins to the web under the sign.
Few spiders come down the web and leave a donut there for you.
You pick it up.
"Thank you so much for the donut. Have a nice day!"
You thanked the spiders.
You can't see them, but you think they appreciate you being polite.
You leave.
Something is missing.
It's too quiet.
You find a house.
Walk in?
You knock before entering.
"Hello? I'm sorry for entering your house like this, but I'm scared out here."
Someone is missing.
You smell something nice.
You walk to the kitchen and see a pie with one missing piece.
You walk through the whole house except the basement.
It's empty. You find paper and a pen.
Take it?
You take the pen and paper.
You walk back to kitchen and drag a chair with you.
It's heavy. You write a note.
'Sorry for taking some of your pie, it smells very good.'
You put the note by the pie.
You can't find a knife to cut the pie.
You use spatula to get a big jagged piece of the pie.
You hope to share it with someone to make friends.
You put the heavy chair back.
You go to the basement.
Something is wrong.
You leave the ruin.
It's cold outside. There is snow.
You look up at the tall trees.
The ceiling is the inside of the mountain.
You see a big broken branch.
You like it's bark.
"Sorry mister of miss branch. Could I please take a piece of your bark?"
You ask the branch for piece of it's bark.
...
...
...
It seems like the branch doesn't mind.
You take a piece of it's bark.
"Thank you!"
You smile at the branch.
You walk through the snowed in paths.
You avoid stepping into the dust.
It's too quiet.
Something is wrong.
Someone is missing.
Something is missing.
You walk through puzzles.
You enjoy them.
You walked to a city.
'Snowdin'
It's too quiet.
Shouldn't there be people?
You feel sad for some odd reason.
You are freezing.
You notice one house has lights on.
'Grillby's'
It's a pub.
Do you walk in?
...
You open the door slightly.
"E-Excuse me... Ca-Can I stay here for a moment? I'm f-freezing-..."
You froze in shock.
A man made of fire and a skeleton are starting at you.
You back away a bit.
"S-Sorry... I'm g-gonna leave..."
The man made of fire looks softer at you.
"It's okay. You must be freezing little one."
You nod and sit by the bar a seat away from the skeleton.
He doesn't seem friendly as the fire man.
"My name is Grillby. And this is Sans. What about you kid?"
You look at Grillby.
"My name is Theo Eden. Nice to meet you."
You are still a bit scared.
Grillby smiles at you.
"Nice to meet you too Theo."
You feel uncomfortable.
Sans doesn't seem welcoming.
"So... What you came here for? Another human with genocidal throughts?"
You freeze.
You feel offended.
You get defensive.
"With what?! I never wanted to hurt anyone! Ever! In fact..."
You think for a moment before you speak again.
You speak in very quiet voice.
"The only one I wanted to hurt was me... It's said that who comes up at mount Ebot... Never returns..."
You feel your heart beating fast.
You feel your eyes filling with tears.
But you refuse to cry.
Sans looks at you.
That's bad way how to end your life kiddo... The human who was there before you started as you too tho... But... Tell me... Did ya meet any other monster on yer way here? I suppose not.
You shake your head.
"Only few spiders. They were very polite."
"They are still alive? Well that's surprising..."
You feel like you don't belong here.
But you wish to stay.
"The human that fell here before you... They were cute and nice... But than they got violent and..."
Sans looks distressed.
Grillby puts his hand on Sans's shoulder.
"We are the only ones left. Our friends and families..."
You whisper with remorse in your voice.
"They killed them... Didn't they? I hate humans... That's why I wanted to leave... All of them are so... So... Bad... I'm sure no one here deserved anything bad happen..."
You grip onto your sweater sleeves.
Grillby nodds.
"Yeah... Well anyway Grillby over here is my oldest friend. I was his first customer when he opened this place."
You look at Grillby.
It isn't too visible. But he's smiling.
"That's so cool. Can I ask something?"
Curiosity won over your fear.
"What do you want to ask Theo?"
"Along the way I saw stars. What are they? They didn't melt the snow. I was too scared to come near."
You didn't notice at first. But Sans was drinking ketchup.
Sans was so shocked he spat the ketchup.
"What didn't you just say?"
"I was asking about the stars."
"There are no stars in the underground."
"Kid you might be just the miracle we were hoping for! Grillbs can you look over the kid for a bit?"
"Of course."
Sans got of his chair.
He disappeared into blue light.
You look amazed at Grillby.
"How did he do that?"
"Every monster has their specific magic. As youu can see, I'm a fire monster. So I have fire magic. Sans is a skeleton, so he has bone magic and he can teleport."
"That's so cool!"
"If I remember correctly Sans told me about those... Stars you're talking about. Monsters can't see them, only humans can. So that's your magic."
You gasp.
"So I'm a witch?!"
Grillby seems amused by you.
"Sure think Theo. You are a witch."
"Amazing! Because I refuse to be human. Humans SUCK!"
Grillby laughs at your remark.
"Are you hungry? I can make you a burger, or fries."
"Can I really have a burger? Dad always said it's not for useless kids like me. Plus I don't have any money."
"Don't worry about it kid. So you want a burger?"
You nodded.
You saw Grillby's expression being soft when he looks at you.
But he frowned for a split second when I mentioned your father.
Grillby smiles at you.
"Than I'll make you a burger when Sans gets back, okay?"
You nod again.
You dangle your legs on the tall chair.
Waiting for Sans.
You don't like the awkward silence.
"Mister Grillby? What do you use magic for?"
"I cook with it usually, but different types of magic are used for different things. For example I can use healing magic. You can tell what that ones for, right?"
You nod.
"Can humans use magic too?"
"I'm not sure about that. I know that you can see stars and have special powers from that. Because you're more determined than monsters."
"I wouldn't say I'm determined..."
"Well you're more determined than us."
Grillby smiles at you.
He makes you feel welcomed.
