David was wondering around newsies square and didn't notice Morris trailing behind him.

Oscar bumped into David "Oh, I'm sorry there Davey"

David turned around and saw Morris "G'day to ya"

"What do you want?" David said to the boys

"Where's ya pal Jack?"

"I don't know."

"Aw come one, where is he? You should know."

"Well I don't-" before David could finish his sentence, Morris pushed him to the ground "Tell us where Jackie-boy is, and we won't have a problem" David looked up and noticed Oscar putting on his brass knuckles

"I'm not kidding! I don't know where he is!"

Jack just happened to be passing by. He heard commotion and looked to see the Dealncey brothers, and David.
He dropped his papers and ran to help Davey.

"Look there he is!" Morris turned around.

"Leave him alone you bastards" Jack helped Davey up "Stay behind me"

"What are you gonna do about it?" Morris said, a bit slyly

Jack sucker punched Morris "Run Dave!"
David took off like a shot.

Later

Jack was sitting on the stairs of the apartment David stayed at.

"It's a bit cold out here, dontcha think?"
David came out and sat next to Jack

"Nah, I like the breeze. 'Feels nice."

"Yeah, it does."

Jack smiled at Davey.

Davey kissed Jack's cheek

"What was that for Dave?"

"Just because."

"Just because yous is proud of me winning a fight wit da Delancey Brothers?"

"I was proud of you anyway"
