Katherine walked around the apartment. She looked out the window to see newsies selling papers and no sign of Jack . Ugh . Katherine knew Jack was going to be selling today ! Even though he now was a full time artist for the World and Sun and occasionally the Journal he still would help the fellas out now and then .

Katherine saw the storm warnings outside . Katherine pulled her coat and walked out to the fire escape. "Boys ! There's gonna be a storm ! " Katherine said to newsies square. They all smiled and tipped their hats only to run to the lodging house for safety and comfort.

Katherine didn't like this . Katherine didn't like that Jack was out there . He better come home soon . She paced back in forth in their living room. The fore she had built warming the space . "Jack " she said every time footsteps would come near the door . But it turned out to be another one of the buildings residents.

That last one she knew wasn't true . Jack and Pulitzer hated each other . They always did things to get the other angry or upset.

Like when Jack and Katherine were at his building and Jack tried to make out in the hallway .

Or how Pulitzer always invited Katherine to dinner and they would have a very wealthy gentleman there . Someone who Joseph Pulitzer would allow to marry his daughter .

Or when ever they where near one another they would bring up the strike.

Jack would say he won

While Pulitzer would say he cheated

Or how Jack called Joseph Pulitzer a stuck up no good rotten cheat !

Or how Joseph Pulitzer would call Jack a dirty rotten poor as hell street rat .

Katherine didn't like it . She would try and separate them. Pulling Jack away or Pulitzer.

Katherine heard foot steps again and looked up . Please be Jack . Please be Jack ! She prayed . She didn't want him outside in the cold . She didn't want him to be hurt or damaged.

"Katherine?" Katherine then ran to the door .

"Jack ?" "Nope ," Davey said . "Davey , hi . Not to be rude or anything but why are you here ?" "Jack " "why ? What's wrong ? " Katherine said , "the rain and the snow and the cold . He's at the lodging house " "oh thank goodness " Katherine said feeling a rush of relief fall over her shoulders .

"Okay , how about you stay here till the storms clears ?" Katherine said . "I can't " "why ?" "We can't !" "How come ?" "Jack he's unconscious " "what ? Oh my god . Hold on " Katherine then grabbed her house key , a strong coat and scarf and two umbrellas. One for her and one for Davey . "Let's go "

Katherine and Davey ran through the rain . Fighting against it . Katherine's umbrella flew off . "No !" She screamed . She pulled up her skirt and began to sprint to the lodging house .

When Katherine and Davey finally arrived at the lodging house . Davey opened the door . "Davey ?" Les said . "Where's Jack ?" "Still in his old room " "Katherine come on . Race ? Can you see if there's any clothes she can wear , anything lying around . " "sure "
"Come on Katherine " Davey said .

Katherine walked in to see Jack lying on his bed . His hair went but his clothes dry .

"Jack " Katherine said lying down to Jack level . "Jack ?" Katherine said running her hand through his soaking wet hair . "Please ! Please wake up " she said . He stirred a bit . "He's alive " Romeo said . "Shut yer pie hole !" Specs said elbowing him .

"Please wake up " she said . Cruthie walked over and placed a warm blanket on her shoulders . He moved slightly .

"Kath you may be here a while , we found one of Smalls actually dresses if youse want it " Race said , Katherine nodded and took the dress and changed in the bathroom .

Katherine just sat in his room for hours on hours . The boys had all gone asleep .

"Jack , please " she said feeling tried . Her eyes where heavy but she had to stay awake in case he woke up . She had tried everything . Shaking him , yelling in his face . Jumping on he bed . Pulling the blanket .
