Katherine sat down at the cheap coffee table .

Her baby girl was scribbling away on a piece of paper . Jack would be home soon . He just had to get this job .

Katherine got pregnant at 17 and was married a week after she told Jack .

Her father told her "divorce Kelly and I'll take care of you and Josie" but Katherine couldn't leave him .

Jack and Josie were so close . She loved him with all her heart and he loved her . Josie was all Jack . Same blue eyes , same black hair that was straight as a board .

"Mommy ! Look I drew something for daddy !" Josie giggled and held the picture up .

"It's very good! I bet he'll love that" Katherine smiled and went back to her sewing .

Jack had to get this job .

Katherine couldn't do much work since she left high school to take care of Josie . There whole lives it was saving every penny to make ends meet .

She had a part time job at the sun that didn't earn much and she also taught creative writing at the Y during summer .

The door knob jiggled . "Daddy !" Josie screamed and got off her seat .

Jack opened the door , wearing his best suit . "Josie ! If it ain't my little angel " he said picking her up and kissing her .

"I drew for you daddy " she smiled hugging her father .

"What did you draw ?" He asked setting her down .

"Lanta Fe  !" She smiled and brought her photo to him .

"Santa Fe ?"

"Yeah daddy ! Lanta Fe !!!" She waved the drawing in front of him .

"Wow ? Are you sure your only five ? I swear Picasso himself must have drawn this !" Jack encouraged his daughter and put it up on the fridge .... With all the other Josie masterpieces.

"Josie why don't you get the your art supplies and put them in your room while daddy and I set the table " Katherine said to her daughter .

"Okay Mama" and she grabbed her basket and walked down the hall .

Jack came to Katherine and kissed her .

"So ? Did you get it ? Please tell me you got it -"

"I got it " Jack smiled.

"You did not ! You do ! Oh Jack I'm so proud of you " Katherine exclaimed and hugged Jack .

"Yep ! You are now looking at the Senior Vice Buyer of Galleria Art Company " Jack said and kissed her .

"That so wonderful ... Finally we won't have to struggle ... We'll -"

"I'll finally be able to give you the life you deserve " Jack told her .

"Jack -"

"I will .... No more funding jobs here and there . No more getting up early to work a double shift .... Josie will get to go to school .... You'll finish college.... And finally be that star reporter " Jack said making her get teary eyed .

"Jack .... I love you " she told him and kissed him deeply .

"I love you too Ace ... And I love that kid of ours ...." Jack said and set his suit jacket on the chair ."so what's for dinner ?"

"Pot roast with veggies " she told him and began to place the plates down .

"And you for dessert ?" Jack asked placing his hands on her hips .

"About that ..... Jack ?"

"Hmm ?"

"You know why I told you that you just had to get this job ? So we would have more money ?"

"Yeah ?" Jack asked raising an eyebrow.

"We need more money because I'm pregnant "

Jack then smiled and kissed her .

"Hey ! This Kelly needs love too !" Josie said . Jack smiled and picked her up and hugged all his family , Josie , Katherine, and the baby .
