94 - Mush (Part 2)

This is a part 2 to #92!

3rd Person

*4 Years Later*

She strolled through the street with her three year old baby girl holding her hand. She heard a young newsie hawking his headlines making memories flood back from earlier, happier days.

In the four years since she saw him last, she has thought of him too many times for a married women- widow now.

Clayton was murdered a year ago from an unhappy business partner after things haven't gotten their way.

Living on Clayton's wealth, she's been raising her three year old daughter and one year old son, who was with her mother now.

She hasn't seen or heard from Mush ever since the wedding. She wanted to be frustrated and angered at how he could of left her and dropped all their plans, but she loves him too much to ever be angry at him.

As much as she wanted to forget and move on, she couldn't even after four years. Part of her wanted to wake up with amnesia, but the other part of her grabs a hold of all her happy memories never wanting to forget them and hoping one day she'll make more.

"Stay close to me," she told her daughter letting go for a second to grab a paper. She quickly grabs a hold of her daughter's hand before noticing the other little one next to her. "Hello," she smiles to the little boy who was next to her daughter. "Where's you mother?" she asks quietly not wanting to scare him. He turns around as she follows her gaze to a woman who was about her age who seemed to be pregnant by the looks of her large stomach.

"Charlie. You scared me. Don't run off like that again. Okay?" the woman bends down to her son.

"Okay," he whispers back grabbing a hold of his mother's hand.

"I'm so sorry. I hope he wasn't getting into trouble," Charlie's mother says to her.

"Oh no," she answers.

"I'm Abby," she woman holds out her hand for her to shake.

"(Y/N)," she replies shaking Abby's hand. "And this is my daughter, (Y/D/N)," she gestures to the little girl beside.

"She's beautiful," Abby compliments saying hello to the little girl. "Is she your only kid?" Abby starts the conversation.

"No, I have a son, (Y/S/N), who is one years old. My mother's watching him, so we could run some errands," she answers. "Is Charlie your only kid?" she asks back.

"I'm actually expecting twins," Abby smiles at the thought.

"Have you already picked out names?" she questions.

"If they are girls, then Lydia and Eponine, and if they are boys then Mason and Grover," Abby answers. "I'm sorry, but I must go. We should get together soon," Abby notices how late is has gotten as she agrees. "My husband and I are going out tonight with our friends and you should come," Abby invites. "We are going to be at Irving Hall," Abby informs her as more memories flood back to her by the mention of Irving Hall. "I hope I see you there," Abby finishes before saying good bye and leading Charlie away.

She leads her daughter in the opposite direction deciding on whether or not to go.

....

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" she asks her mother for the tenth time.

"Yes, now go enjoy the night," her mother smiles. She wasn't going to go, but with a little convincing from her mother, she decides to go.

She leaves her house and makes her way to Irving Hall while her mind fills with worries and questions.

She finally reaches Irving Hall and walks in. She makes her way up the staircase with red carpet before she comes to double doors. She could hear laughter and people talking while the smell of cigarettes hit her as the doors open. She looks around noticing how little it has changed since the last time she's been there.

"(Y/N)," she hears Abby call. She turns towards the sound seeing Abby walk up to her. "I'm glad you came," she tells her before leading her to a table where more people were sat at. She looks around seeing familiar, yet older faces.

"(Y/N)?" someone questions.

"Jack," she smiles happy to see her old friend. She, then notices others like Kid Blink, Race, Skittery (which happened to be Abby's husband), and even Spot.

"How've ya been?" Race asks as she takes a seat in between Abby and Davey.

"Okay-"

"How's Clayton?" she heard an all too familiar voice ask in a mocking tone as he nears the table and takes a seat across from her.

"Well," she starts feeling anger towards him, "after being shot here... here... and here," she points to her chest over and over. "I guess you could say he's in a better place now," she tells him making him look away.

"I'm sorry ta hear dat," Mush says in a soft tone.

"Me too," she finishes standing up knowing it's time to leave. They all turn to Mush knowing it was his fault.

"(Y/N), wait," he gets up after her. She makes it to the lobby before he grabs her arm as carefully as possible turning her around.

"What do you want? You do know it's your fault I was even with him," she tells him anger evident in her voice.

"I know," he sighs scratching the back of his neck not knowing what to say or do. "I'm sorry."

"It's fine. You didn't know-"

"No, I'm sorry fah everythin'. I'm sorry fah leavin' ya. I'm sorry fah droppin' all ouah plans. I'm sorry fah lettin' ya go," he finishes looking up at her with sincerity etched in his voice. "I still love ya and I nevah stopped," he grabs her hand.

"Mush, you know I love you, too, but I can't jump into anything. Not right now," she replies.

"Take as long as ya need. I'm always gonna be hea fah ya. Always."
