89 - Jack
3rd Person
It was one night. One night that changed her life. She went from the perfect daddy's girl to a rebellious teenager in hours.
From the moment he saw her, he was attracted to her more than any other girl in his life. He could tell by the way they held eye contact that she wasn't like any other girls. She was smart, friendly, and stunning. Her smile lit up the room and her laugh was contagious. Everything about her was perfect.
She felt the same way. She desired for his touch and his kiss. For once in her life, she felt free and wild like nothing was holding her back. Not even her parents.
For a whole night, they spent the time talking, laughing, and getting to know each other. Along with secretly falling for each other.
But that night ended too soon and their normal lives continued. She continued going to school and being a goody-two-shoes while he continued selling his papers.
....
She walked out of school with her books in her hands. Her hair blew everywhere due to the wind. As another gust of wind came by, her papers flew away from her resulting in her dropping the rest of her things in order to grab the papers.
"Need help?" a familiar, smoky voice asked grabbing a stack of papers for her.
"Thank- Jack?" she stopped mid-sentence upon seeing the newsie.
"(Y/N)," he replied handing her the papers.
"What are you doing around here?" she questioned knowing this isn't his usual selling spot.
"I came ta ask ya somethin'," he replied turning around and leading her away from a group of the rich teenagers who also happened to be her classmates. "Da boys an' I ah havin' a get tagedda wit some oddah newsies from New York tanight at Medda's." he continues, "so I was wonderin' if ya wanted ta go."
"I'd love to go," she smiles at him hoping tonight will be like the other night they spent together. "I'll meet you there?"
"Suah. See ya," he replies as she begins to walk away.
"Bye," she says looking over her shoulder to see him begin to walk away in the other direction.
....
She takes one more look in the mirror making sure she looks good. Once she is content with her look, she leaves her house knowing her parents won't mind. Most of the time they don't even acknowledge that she is home.
She saunters through the streets of Manhattan excited and nervous at the same time. She arrives at Medda's and is immediately greeted with newsies laughing and talking accompanied by their own girls.
"Hey, (Y/N)," Jack greets walking up to her.
"Hey, Jack," she replies following him to a table where Davey, Mush, Skittery, Skittery's girl, Abby, and Kid Blink were seated at. She took a seat in between Abby and Jack, and soon the conversation started.
Everyone was talking and laughing as the night went on. She couldn't keep up with the conversation, though. The newsies talked about bad headlines, the refuge, and then to teasing Skittery on how whipped he is. Jack took notice on how little she reacted to it.
"How 'bout we get outta heah," he whispers to her sending shivers up her spine. She turns towards him and nods, barely making out a small 'okay'. Jack stands up from the table as she does the same. They say good-bye to their friends before leaving. He grabs her hand and leads her to the newsboys' lodging house. They climbed up the stairs and then to the roof.
"Wow," she breathed out walking towards the edge and looking over admiring the view. The night was clear making it possible to see the stars and the bright, crescent moon.
"Ya like it up heah?" Jack asks standing next to her, leaning on the edge. She nods not being able to look away from the city as he keeps his gaze on her. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see him staring making her smile.
"What are you staring at?" she questions in a jokingly manner with a her contagious smile plastered on her flawless face. He finally looks away from her and she turns to look at him, but quickly looking away.
They remain quiet as he finds the right words to say. He wants to tell her how he feels, but he gets too nervous to say anything. She's the only person who can get him nervous. But it's now or never.
"(Y/N)," he starts gaining her attention. She looks away from the view and towards him making him even more nervous. He thinks for a moment, but decides to just come out and say what he needs to say. "Listen, I've liked ya since I'se met'cha an' da oddah night we'se spent tagedda only made me fall foah ya even moah," he tells her. He awaits her response as he keeps his gaze on her unreadable face feeling doubtful.
Finally, she crashes her lips to his wrapping her arms around his neck as he grabs onto her waist. She leans her head to the side to deepen the kiss as they share this passionate yet somewhat heated kiss. They pull away, but stay close to each other.
"I like you, too," she smiles making him smile back at her.
"So, will ya be my goil?" he inquired.
"Of course," she answers before he pulls her in for another kiss.
