85 - Jack

(3rd Person)

"Are you sure you'll be okay with him?" she asked her mother yet again as her mother pushed her out the door.

"Everything will be fine. You go enjoy yourself in the city," her mother smiles.

"Okay, I'll be back before lunch," she promises leaving the apartment. She left the building strolling along in the nice weather.

"Maniac on da loose!" he yells gaining the attention of pedestrians all around him. She walked up to him holding out a penny. He gave her a paper in exchange for the penny before he looked up at her. Her eyes met his in seconds, each getting lost in each other.

He thought she was beautiful. He was captivated by her. As was she. Something about him wouldn't let her walk away. Until, finally, he was snapped out of stare.

"Sorry, I'm Jack. Jack Kelly," he greets holding out a hand for her to shake.

"(Y/N)," she replied shaking his hand.

"Ah ya new 'round heah? I don't think I've evah seen ya 'round heah," he starts the conversation wanting to know more about her.

"I grew up here, but then I moved to Chicago, and now I'm back," she explains.

"Is it different dan ya remembah?" he continues.

"Yeah, I feel as if I moved to a whole other city," she answers.

"Well, I'd be happy ta show ya 'round," he offers with a small smile.

"That would be great. Thank you," she smiles back. "So, I'll meet you here tonight?" she plans.

"See ya den," he replies.

"Bye," she walks away looking back once more seeing him smiling back at her.

....

"And dat's Tibby's. Da best place ta go fah food," he points out as they walk by. She held onto his arm as he showed her restaurants and stores. "So how come ya moved ta Chicago?" he asks.

"Well, I met someone who lives there while he was visiting here, so I moved back with him," she answers.

"Where's he now?" he pressed further.

"He's... out of my life. He left once he found out I was pregnant," she explains.

"I'm sorry ta heah dat," Jack looks at her.

"Oh well. Sometimes I wish I never left with him, but then I wouldn't have my son, (Y/S/N)," she looks up at him. "What about you?" she asks him.

"What do ya want ta know?"

"Do you have someone?" she blurts out the first questions that came to mind.

"No," he smiles. She looks away smiling a bit as well. "I'm plannin' on movin' ta Sante Fe, though," he continues.

"What's it like there?" she asks curiously.

"Everythin' looks different. Da desert, da sky, an' da sun," he goes on. "I just need a bit moah money, and den I'm gone."

*Two Weeks Later*

"Hey, Jack," she greets him earning a smile from him.

"Hey, (Y/N), how ah ya and (Y/S/N)?" he starts the conversation. Over the past two weeks, they have become best friends. Maybe even closer than friends. Everyone knew they liked each other except them.

"Good, thank-"

"(Y/N)?" someone says gaining her attention. She turned around immediatley regretting her decisions as she sees Andrew Young, the father to her son.

"Andrew. What are you doing here?"

"I came here for you. I want you back-" he was cut short as he notices Jack. "Who's he?"

"Just a friend," she answers piercing Jack with the word 'friend'.

"I want you to come back with me. You and (Y/S/N). Our son," he continues getting closer to her.

"You can't just come back and say you want me back. You left me. You chose to leave-"

"And it was the biggest mistake I've ever made."

"I need to think about this," she tells him back away from his grasp.

"I'm in town for two days. I hope you're on the train with me when I do leave," he says before leaving.

"I'm sorry about that," she apologizes to Jack.

"It's fine. Do ya think you'll leave wit him?" he asks.

"I don't know."

"Do ya still love 'im?" Jack pressed further.

"I don't know," she replied even though she knew she didn't. She loved Jack. She wanted to be with Jack, but knowing he's not staying, she kept it to herself. "How's the Sante Fe savings going?" she asks trying to change the subject of their conversation.

"Slow," Jack replies. Secretly, he has come up with the money. He has had enough for a while, he just didn't want to leave her. But now that she might be leaving, maybe it's time for him to leave to. "But, I have enough," he tells her. "I'm leavin' tomorrow," he finishes. Knowing he's leaving killed her inside, but maybe it was a sign to tell her to leave with Andrew.

....

"Bye, Jack," (Y/S/N) says hugging Jack's legs.

"Bye, buddy. Be good foah ya mum," he tell him as (Y/S/N) nods before he ran off to her mother who was waiting for them behind her. Jack looked back up to her. "Don't miss me too much," he jokes pulling her in for a hug.

"I'm can't promise you," she joked back earning a chuckle from Jack. "I am going to miss you," she told him sincerity in her voice.

"I'm gonna miss ya, too," he replied pulling her away.

"I hope Sante Fe will be everything you are looking for," she smiled at him.

"And I hope Chicago will be your last move," he smiled back gazing into her eyes wanting to remember them and never wanting to forget. "Don't faget 'bout me," Jack pulled away knowing it's time to leave.

"As long as you promise not to forget about me," she replied.

"Never."

*4 Years Later*

Jack was back in Manhattan after 4 years. Sante Fe was everything he dreamed of and even more except it didn't have smething his heart craved. It didn't have (Y/N). It was almost like he was living some else's life. He couldn't fully enjoy himself not knowing if she feels the same way.

He sauntered through the streets just as he did all those years ago looking for someone in particular even though the chances are slim. He felt as if he will never find her. His eyes searched the busy streets and not paying attention as he bumped into a little boy.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't looking," the little boy said.

"(Y/S/N), what did I tell you about running off," she walked up to her son. He looked up to see her making her way over to the little boy. He couldn't believe she was here.

"(Y/N)?" Jack asked making her look up.

"Jack," she smiled standing up and pulling him in for a hug.

"I thought you'se were in Chicago," he starts pulling away from her embrace to catch up.

"I didn't end up going," she looks to her son who was playing with his wooden sword. "I was about to, but I couldn't leave," she explains. "What are you doing back?" she changed the subject.

"Sante Fe was missin' somethin' I needed," he answers with a smile.

"And what was that?" she smiles up at him.

He pulled her closer to him before saying, "You." And with that one word, she crashes her lips into his. She wraps her arms around his neck as his arms snake around her waist pulling her closer. She leaned her head to the side to deepen the kiss before she felt a tugging on her dress.

"Momma?" (Y/S/N) said making them break apart. "I'm hungry," he tells her.

"Then lets go home," she tells him looking up at Jack. She picked him up as Jack draped an arm over her shoulder as they began walking home. Where they are all meant to be.

A-N- Sry this is kind of long... I didn't want to make a part two. I had an ending set for this, but half way I changed it at the last minute, too. Anyways, I hope you liked it!

Yes, there is a picture of Skittery attched to this, because Skittery is beautiful! :)

And the song that gave me inspiration for this was "Falling Slowly" from the musical Once. It came on my Pandora and then I was upsessed! It's such a pretty song!

Still waiting for some more comments for the Mush and Kid Blink one! So comment and vote! Thank you all! Love you all!
