(3rd Person)
She sauntered through the streets of Manhattan enjoying the nice weather while it lasts. She knew how unpredictable the New England weather was, so she took advantage of the warm sun and the birds chirping. Along with the crowded and noisy streets- which was usual.
"Murdera on da loose!" an orotund voice yelled gaining her attention. The voice sounded familiar and the person that the voice belonged to was even more familiar. She smiled upon looking at her old friend and how he didn't change at all.
She walks over to him handing him a nickel. "It's a penny a pape-" he stopped once he looked up at her. "Kelsea?" his mouth stretched to a smile.
"Race," she gave him a hug which he didn't refuse. "How are you?" she asked wanting to start a conversation with him.
"Headlines are slow, but overall, thin's are good. How are ya?" he asked back as they began to walk.
"I've been pretty good," she tells him before they go back and forth in depth in a conversation about anything and everything.
The used to be best friends, but for some unknown reason, they stopped hanging out. She stopped visiting the lodging house and he stopped selling on the street. But by fate, he decided to sell on the street today for some reason which he knows now.
He throws his head back in laughter as she laughs with him. Her bubbly personality always put a smile on his face. He began to wonder why they ever stopped being friends.
They both stopped laughing and tried to catch their breaths before Race spoke up, "Why did we eva stop hangin' out?" She stopped and pondered over that question for a moment thinking the same thing.
"I guess we just got busy," she answered with a bit of seriousness etched in her voice. "But, I guess it doesn't matter now," she smiles at him which he returns. They continue talking and laughing until they reach her apartment.
"Well, Race, it was nice catching up with you. Maybe we can talk again some time?"
"Of course. I'll see ya lata," he replies before they exchanged good-bye's. She walks into her apartment glad that she decided to spend the day outside and he reaches the lodging house glad he decided to skip the races.
