55 - Davey
(3rd Person)
She left her apartment to the busy streets of Manhattan for the first time in a while. Lately, she has been cooped up in her apartment to clean and cook for her family. Her parents work and her siblings are too young for these responsibilities, so she's in charge of taking care of the apartment. Today, her mother took some time off to help her out. Since all the work has been finished for the day, she decided to take a walk.
In search of a newspaper to read, she walked up to a tall newsie. He had dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. He wore a red bandana and had a cowboy hat. He was talking to two other boys, one who seemed to be only six years old and the other who seemed to be the same age as the first newsie. He had deep blue eyes and somewhat curly brown hair. He wore a blue shirt with a brown vest which brought out his eyes.
She walked up to the boy with a bandana and quickly bought a paper. Her gaze met the blue-eyed boy for a moment before she turned and walked the other direction. He was mezmerized by her. He watched as she walked off and he couldn't shake off that feeling. The feeling kept him starstruck. He shook his head to try to stop himself from staring, but it didn't stop what he felt.
Two months past and he still waits to see her again. He watches the crowd of people, searching for her silhouette.
She has been working around her apartment trying to finish her work, so she could see him again. She really wants to. She wants to talk to him. She wants to know his name. She wants to be his friend and maybe even more than friends. She didn't know if he was feeling the same way. Everyday she imagined what it would be like if they held a conversation. What it would be like to be his. Although sometimes she doubted she would ever see him again, this crush wasn't going away.
Around dinner time, she finally finished her work. She walked out of her apartment hoping she'll see him again. Hoping that she isn't too late. She turns a corner and sees him with the other newsie and the little boy. She stopped as her gaze fell onto him. She couldn't bring herself to talk to him or even walk up to him. She turned around and hid behind the corner.
"Come on, (Y/N), you can do this," she whispered encouraging words to herself. She breathed in and out before walking back around the corner. She walked towards him. He turned his head and saw her. She caught her breath as their gazes met. Feeling more shy than ever, she changed direction, walking past him. She offered him a small smile knowing that's the best it'll ever get. He smiles back. He wanted to bring himself to talk to her. To walk up to her, but he couldn't. He didn't know why. He always stopped himself at the last minute.
She left again even though neither of them wanted her to leave.
They haven't seen each other in a year. Both of them, knowing it's a lost cause, moved on. She met a guy and he met a girl.
She was walking to Irving Hall to watch a show with her boyfriend. As they walked in, her eyes found a familiar boy sitting with a girl. His eyes met hers and they smiled. Once the show was over, they parted ways once more. They never saw each other after that.
