32 - Davey

This one is for TheNewsieDameNYC! You didn't tell me what you look like or what your name is so I made it general. I also didn't know what kind of puppy love you meant so I did a sad/ sweet puppy love kind of thing. I hope you like it!

"I have to go home now," you told Davey through small laughs for the sixth time.

"No you don't," he fought.

"Yes, I do," you started pulling away from his grasp.

"Okay," he gave up and stood up with you. He walked you back to your apartment building and then up to your apartment.

"You didn't have to walk me up all the way," you laughed as you walked up the last flight of stairs.

"Yes I did," he smiled.

"Okay. Bye," you tell him before giving him a small kiss on the lips.

"Bye. I love you," he said back to you.

"I love you, too," you smile to yourself and walked into your apartment.

"Oh, good. You're home," your mother stands up from her seat at the table. "We need to talk," she adds as you sit down in between her and your father. Your little sister was seated across from you eating her soup.

"We decided it would be best if we moved," you father says calmly as you drop your spoon.

"Move? Why?" you raised your voice.

"Your father was fired earlier today and we are thinking of moving West to find work," your mother explains.

"No," you stated crossing your arms. "I'm not moving," you continued. They both looked down and sighed. "I have friends here and I'm not leaving them," you added.

"You will make new friends in California," your mother started to raise her voice, too.

"You can't make me move," you protested not wanting to eat any more.

"We can and we will. We are leaving tomorrow and that's final," your father's voice rang through the small apartment as his fists made contace with the table. You stood up and walked out of the apartment not listening to any of their calls. You ran down the stairs as tears stung your eyes. You navigated through the streets to find Davey and you found him in front of his apartment building about to walk in.

"Davey," you yelled gaining his attention. You stopped running once you were right in front of him as he wraps his arms around you. You did the same and cried in his chest.

"What happened?" he asked once you calmed down a bit. "Here, why don't we go up to my apartment. No one's home. We can talk there," he suggests before you nod in agreement. He held onto you as you both walked up the stairs. You make it to his apartment and sit down on one of the beds. "What happened?" he repeated his first question.

"They are making me move to California," you tell him. You watch him as he mutters a small 'oh' and looks away. More tears escaped your eyes as he looks back at you with some hurt in his eyes.

"It's okay," he tries to comfort you.

"I don't want to leave you," you sobbed.

"I don't want you to leave either," he holds you tight. "I will find a way to bring you back to me," he promises.

"Don't forget me when I'm gone," you tell him crying more at the thought of losing him forever.

"Never. I love you too much to let you go. Just promise me you will be okay."

"I'm never going to be okay until I'm yours again," you sobbed.

"You are always going to be mine. We just won't be together for a short time," he states.

"I'm scared of leaving you. I will be all alone," you say. You hate being alone and moving to California means you'll be all alone.

"My life and love will always be with you. I love you and that's never going to change. You will never lose me," he tells you. You finally start to calm down. You notice how late it has gotten. "Stay here tonight," Davey says in more of a question. You nod and you both lie down. He wraps his arms around you never wanting to let go. He kisses the top of your head as you move closer to him never wanting to leave.

You are terrified of being without Davey and terrified of california. What will it be like over there? What if you never come back? So many questions cloud your mind, but you try to ignore the constant nagging of questions unanswered.

*4 years later*

You walked out of your house early in the morning after getting ready. You needed to get to work. You were a laundress and you were saving up for a ticket to Manhattan. You've been saving every since you got to california, but between helping your family out and your own needs, you weren't as close as you wanted to be. For the past 4 years, all that has been keeping you sane and happy is the thought and memories of Davey. Some nights everything is too much and you just need him here and other nights you smile at the moon thinking of all the precious time spent with him and how you imagine your reunion. These years apart made you realize how much you love and need Davey. You always knew you love him and need him, but you never thought this much. This move has made you lonelier than ever but the sweet things Davey said that night echo through your mind whenever you need him. You remember that night like it was yesterday and you are grateful for your great memory.

You walked down the street with your basket in your arms careful not to drop it. You turned a corner to one of the busiest streets in California and you were pushed around a little by bigger people walking here and there ignoring your presence.

"(Y/N)?" you hear over the busy street. You turn around and see a pair of bright blue eyes you didn't expect. You dropped your basket and covered your mouth with your hand as happy tears blurred your vision.

"Davey," you could barely scream. You ran towards him as he met you in the middle engulfing you in the biggest hug. You wrapped your arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around your waist picking you up. You held onto him like your life depended on it. You pull away and held his face that looks older than you remember. You brought his face to yours as your hands tangled themselves in his hair. Your lips moved in sync as if trying to make up for all the lost time. You felt like you two were the only ones in the street and all you could here is your heartbreak racing in your chest from his arrival. You both pulled away to catch your breaths. He pulled you in once more for another hug.

"I promised I would bring you back to me," he says happy that you two are together. You pulled away from his hug to look into his charming eyes. "I missed you. Too much," he admits.

"I missed you too," you say back to him. "I was so alone," you admit letting a tear fall down your cheek. He wipes away the stray tear with his thumb as he holds onto you face.

"I will never let you leave me again," he promises staring into your eyes with his majestic blue ones.

"I love you. So much," you tell him.

"I love you more."
