A-N- I'm gonna insert this little one-shot in when he's talking with Sarah, he's talking to you. So it's like in the middle of the strike and you guys are together already.

"I just can't wait ''til it's ova so I can go ta Sante Fe," Jack said as he draped his arm over your shoulders. You two were sitting on the roof of your apartment building.

"Do you have to leave?" you asked hoping he says no. You know how important his dream is to him, but he was really important to you. Yes, it's kind of selfish, but you hoped you were important to him.

"Ya know how importan' it is ta me," he answers. "I just neva really had anybody dat made me want ta stay," he explains looking down at you.

"Well, now you do, and I don't want to lose you," you confess looking back up at him.

"I don't want ta lose ya eitha," he smiles and you return his smile.

"Then, please, don't go," you plead. "What does Sante Fe have that New York doesn't?" I asked looking out at the other buildings.

"Just everythin' is different dere. Da desert, da sky, an' da sun," he explains. "It just looks different," he went on.

"But New York has the newsies. New York has me," you try to persuade him.

"Yeah, dat's true," he said as if debating with himself on whether to stay or go. "Den come wit me. We can leave New York an' go taetha so we don't have ta lose each otha,"

"Jack, you know I can't do that," you say wishing you could. You would go anywhere with Jack. You would do anything for him. "I have my family here," you explain. "And you do too," you add. You leaned your head on his shoulder as his grip tightened. He kisses the top of your head. You lean your head back as he leaned closer to you and placed a delicate kiss on your lips. Every time you two kiss you got always got the same wonderful feeling and you knew that if he left, you wouldn't get that feeling. He means too much to you for you to let go of him. He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer to him so you were practically sitting on him without breaking the kiss. Your hands went to his neck holding onto him. Your lips moved in sync against his before you both pulled away to catch your breath. You smiled at each other before you leaned your head on his chest as you let go of his neck. His arms remained holding onto your waist as silence draped over you. A comfortable silence that you two were just enjoying each other's presence. His presence that would soon be across the country.
