3rd Person

"I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up," Jack greets, standing up while Kayleigh makes it to their table at Tibby's. "But I'm glad ya did," he adds, giving her a small smile which she returns, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

They made small talk about whatever came to mind as the night went on, sharing laughs and smiles every now and then. Kayleigh admitted to herself that she wasn't even sure if she should have come, but he surprised her. That boy never ceased to amaze her.

She found it funny how in the beginning of the year when everything was "normal", she didn't give Jack a second thought, thinking he was just a troublemaker, but now, after spending time with him, she found how intricate he really was. A cowboy who had dreams and aspirations, and someone who wouldn't let anyone get in the way of what he wanted.

She found out more about him than she ever thought she would, and she was happy she could. He told her of his future plans of traveling, particularly to Santa Fe. He has always had a fascination with that city. Why? She has yet to discover.

But part of her knew this wasn't going to be her last chance to find out.

Early the next morning, the club joined in a random empty classroom before handing out stacks of flyers to each member containing an article written by Kayleigh, herself, concerning their stand against Pulitzer. She knew this strike wasn't just between a club and their principle- it included everyone in the school.

The members paraded the halls, hanging up flyers wherever there was room on the walls and even sticking them on random lockers just to get the word out. They were confident in their cause, and they hoped their numbers would only increase. With everyone together, Pulitzer stood no chance.

Once all the flyers were either being read or hanging on the walls, all they could do was to wait.
