122 - Kid Blink

3rd Person

She laid on her bed in her room that she, sadly, had to share with her evil older sister, Lena. To say Lena was cruel was an understatement. She doesn't despise Lena, but she also doesn't approve with what she did on her free time.

Most of the time she would try to ignore what Lena did, but other times, especially when Lena hurt others, she couldn't turn her head.

She heard a knocking on the window and looked up from her book to see Kid Blink, her sister's secret boyfriend. She walked over to the window and opened it up, letting him in.

He took off his newsie cap and ran a hand through his messy, dirty blonde hair while she tried her hardest not to stare at the beautiful boy.

"Is Lena heah?" he asked in his attractive Manhattan accent.

"No, sorry," she looked away as he took a deep breath frustrated with Lena.

"When ah ya expectin' 'er home?" he questioned.

"With Lena, who knows," she answered truthfully taking a seat on her bed.

"Okay, I'll jus' talk to 'er tomorrow," he sighed before opening the window again.

"Okay. I'll tell her you stopped by," she gave him a small smile which he returned before he disappeared into the streets. She closed the window, taking a seat back on her bed wishing he wasn't already taken and knowing she shouldn't be feeling this way about him.

....

"I have to go," she heard a voice all to familiar giggle quietly as if they were whispering. Knowing who it was who spoke, she opened her eyes to her dark room. She turned towards the window seeing Lena climbing through it before giving a kiss to the person on the other side.

And he wasn't Kid Blink.

They exchanged good-byes before he left and Lena closed the window.

"Who was that?" she asked her sister while her sister got ready for bed.

"This guy I met. His name is Nathan and-"

"You do know you're still dating Kid Blink, right?" she began to get angry with her sister, part of her knowing sooner or later Lena would hurt him.

"And? It's not a problem if they don't know," her sister spoke so nonchalantly as if this was her usual evening. No grief could be heard in her voice while she spoke.

She rolled her eyes at Lana not wanting to start a fight late at night and hoping she will come to her senses in the morning.

....

"You can't do this to him," she spoke to her sister realizing she wasn't going to tell Blink any time soon.

"And why do you care so much?" her sister replies looking up at her with suspicious eyes.

"Because no one should be treated the way you treat people," she retorts with venom dripping from her mouth and anger evident in her eyes. She did love Blink, but she could never tell anyone, especially her sister.

She exits their apartment making her way to Blink's usual selling spot thinking that since her sister won't tell him, she will.

Blink stood where he usually was, hawking his crazy headlines that seemed to surprisingly gain attention of the pedestrians however outrageous they may seem.

"Hey, (Y/N)," he greets hoping she brings good news about Lena.

"Hey. I need to tell you something," she tells him.

"Go ahead," he replies giving her his full attention.

"You need to break up with Lena. She's awful and-"

"Wait, why?" he asks. She, wanting to spare his feelings, decided to just generally try to tell him how awful she really was.

"Because she has an awful history with guys and-"

"Look, I'm sorry, but I'm not breakin' up wit her cos 'er youngah sistah said she's awful," he shakes his head and begins to walk away.

"She's cheating on you," she blurts out knowing she failed with her first plan. Blink stops walking any further. "That night that you stopped by, she came home really late and there was another guy with her. I confronted her, but she didn't care thinking neither of you will find out," she explains knowing he deserves the truth, and that he didn't deserves the crap Lena put him through.

He turns around, meeting her eyes while he struggled to keep the tears from falling. For some reason, he actually did like Lena. And nobody likes to be cheated on whether it was expected or not.

She takes his movement as her queue to move forward, so she does until she was right in front of him.

"She doesn't deserve you, and you don't deserve the crap she puts you through," she voices her previous thoughts. "You deserve so much more than Lena. Why can't you see that?" she questions, keeping her eyes on his hazel ones. "You deserve someone as equally amazing as you are-"

His lips was on hers in an instant, cutting her off. She immediately reacted, kissing him back with just as much passion. His hands held onto her waist as her hands raised to his neck, pulling him closer. They both pulled apart to catch their breaths, but stayed only centimeters away from each other.

"Someone like youse?"
