Today, I want to point out some mistakes I made in the writing of HCHBTF that I feel need to be clarified since I have not had the time to edit them.

I have been questioned a few times in regards to the way Aliyâ made wudhu at the beginning of the story. I wish to clarify that not everything mentioned is actually correct. At the time, I wrote that chapter, it did not occur to me to look up if the wudhu I was taught by my family was correct or not. I more recently learned the correct way to do wudhu, but I have not had the chance or time to edit. As a reader, do not take my stories as an infallible source of information regarding your acts of worship. There are some things I was taught as a child that I may put in without realizing it's incorrect until a later time.

Another issue is the du'a one is supposed to say after the athan. In one chapter, I mentioned Haroon reciting it after the athan clock had gone off. This is also not correct. One of the leading scholars (his name slips my mind at the moment) ruled that the dua should only be said for live athan. Recordings of the athan from athan clocks and athan apps are not included. At the time I wrote it, I knew the hadeeth regarding saying the dua after the athan, but it did not occur to me that there was a different ruling when it came to recordings. One of my readers, may Allah reward her and bless her, was the one who alerted me about the ruling.

That aside, I will now mention what a genius I am at times (note the sarcasm). I was in the midst of adding new scenes to both chapter three and four before I edited them to be published. Then I made a mistake... A big one. I saved chapter three as both three and four in the folder I had them in. The result? I lost the entire chapter four... I nearly had a heart attack when I discovered what I had done. Thankfully, I found a copy of the original chapter four in the recycle bin, but the new scene, which was over ten pages in length, was gone and I had to rewrite the whole thing. I have been rewriting nonstop for several days since. Feel free to celebrate my genius.

My update is going to be a bit later than planned thanks to my carelessness. Oh well...
