It's hard to explain how I ended up on this cramped plane from California to South Korea, but i'll do my best to explain it all.
I guess the best place to start would be introductions. My name is Emily Won-Bae Moon, and i'm 20 years old. I never thought I would be here, doing this job. It was a job that seemed way out of reach. Especially for someone like me, a korean american woman in college working to get a degree in business.
I'm getting ahead of myself, let me explain.
A few weeks ago I sent an email to this management company across the globe in Seoul, South Korea. I love the entertainment company there and I figured it was a good way to merge from college to a full time job. I remember writing the stupid email over and over until it was absolutely perfect. I wanted it to be well worded and sophisticated to show that i'm a strong woman ready to get to work.
It's a good thing I did too, because a few days later I got an email back from the company. We are all our hardest critics and I didn't want to get my hopes up. So my first immediate reaction was that I didn't get the job. My email probably wasn't worded well enough and I was too young for the job, not to mention that I was a woman asking for the position of manager. They'd probably underestimated my skills in businesses and thought that I was too "womanly" for the job. But, when I opened that stupid response, I was so glad that I had stayed up till the wee hours of the morning to write the thing. I had gotten a lovely email back, saying that I'd gotten the job.
In that moment I'd jumped up and danced around the room in an instant. Almost too quickly to read the entire email. I checked, re-checked, re-read, and re-read to make certain that I'd read correctly. I indeed had gotten the job. Another celebratory dance cession later I read the rest of the email.

'Your presence will greatly be requested in Seoul for a further interview on your position as manager. Then we can further discuss living expenses and interaction with BTS, the group you will be managing.
