Emily is not what I expect despite my brief meetings with her in the past. I have always thought that she fancies my dad and intimidates the hell out of me. 

The moment dad park at a deserted parking lot in an abandoned warehouse situated in the middle of nowhere, Emily is already there in a black SUV with a bulky laptop planted on her lap. She was concentrating so hard to the point she didn't notice when dad and I walk up to the side of her window and knock.

Emily flinch in surprise and quickly remove her nerdy-looking glasses. 

"Y'all arrive pretty early," she drawls when she comes out of the SUV with the laptop. Unlike previous encounters, she's dressed in a tank top and sweatpants as if she just woke up.

Dad frowns. "It's 2p.m."

Emily rolls her eyes. "Clearly today's a special day considering that you are always at least 15 minutes late whenever you plan to meet me."

Dad looks like he's about to argue when Emily ignores him and turns her attention to me. 

"We've never officially met, but I'm Emily. Your dad asked me to tweak some government documents to hide your true nature a while ago although I have no idea what you are," the phoenix shapeshifter says with a smirk. 

I am taken aback by her honesty but appreciate that she's not trying to keep a secret for dad's sake. 

"Emily," dad growls, looking so done with her. 

"Relax, Augustus. I'm pretty sure she suspected something! Admit it, you don't talk to anyone at HQ except for me and I'm your only option to reach higher-up data. Also your IT skills are only reduced to Excel," Emily sassily says, gesturing to her laptop. I can't help but chuckle at their interaction. I can see why they got along well now.

Dad's cheeks paint pink. "I can do other things too!"

"Yeah, yeah." Emily waves him off and then put her glasses back on. "Anyway, we're here to track your friend down. Augustus only provided me need-to-know information, which is quite useless to be honest. I'm hoping that you'll tell me more."

I look at dad who is rolling his eyes again. He also gives me a small nod of confirmation, indicating that he trusts her. 

"So Angra Mainyu is currently possessing your classmate Polly?" Emily asks me, showing me her screen with Polly's documents on it. I confirm a few of her questions until she shows me a CCTV footage of Polly in a convenience store. "That's her in a 7-11 store in the outskirts of Gurney City yesterday," Emily says.

Dad leans forward, squinting his eyes at the blurry photo. 

"Gurney City?" I repeat, trying to figure out what Angra is up to. Then I remember Angra did mention something about Gurney City. Angra's possession made me feel very disoriented. "What's in Gurney City?"

"A lot of things," Dad answers me. "But I think she's very close to finding HQ location. You did mention that she possessesed you to find its location, right?"

I shudder at the reminder of my encounter of Angra. 

Emily looks very disturbed at the mention of it. "She possessed you?" she asks in shock.

"Yeah," I whisper, trying to get rid of the memory. Her words will forever haunt me. 

"How far away is she from HQ's location?" dad asks Emily while he wraps an arm around my shoulder, giving me a gentle squeeze. 

The scary-looking woman aggressively types on her laptop before answering him. "Huh. It depends if we are talking about HQ's main building or the prison. The main building is in the middle of the city, so she's still quite far off from there... If we're talking about the prison, oh damn, she's only about a 5 minute drive away..." Emily trails off with a thoughtful face.

Dad jerks his head and whip out his phone. "Since when does HQ have a prison?" he snarls.

"It's a new development," Emily says with a grimace, eyes still on the screen. "Only the higher-ups of HQ knows of its existence and fewer knows of the identity of its prisoners. I only know it because I hacked into their weak ass system. Hold on, let me check if there's anyone Angra wants to possibly break out."

Dad thinks for a moment, looking at his phone and then at me. "Get in the SUV, we're going to that prison. Emily, call Agent Krishnan and let him know about what we found. Make sure you keep details as brief as possible. Also send me the map."

With a plan in place, Dad drives the SUV like a madman while Emily sits upfront doing the things dad told her to do. I am at the back, listening to them talk while occasionally playing with my phone. The moment I got on Twitter, the latest news starts pouring on my phone screen.

"Dad," I say urgently. "Angra is set a street nearby on fire... Queenstreet."

"Shit," he swears, hitting on the gas harder. 

"Augustus," Emily shakily speaks. I crane my head to the front to see a photo of a young girl with sadness etched on her tired face. "I think Angra is going to break her sister out."

"Her sister?" I echo in surprise. 

"Spenta, also known as the 'good' spirit," dad explains with realisation dawning on him. "How the hell did HQ manage to lock up a powerful spirit?"

"The better question is why," Emily mumbles. "Based on this report, Spenta in deep slumber in a lamp found by her host, Chin-Sun, when she was on an archeological expedition. Somehow they manage to strike balance in Chin-Sun's body in live in peace. Spenta has a body while Chin-Sun gains powers to healing. HQ decided to send a team to Chin-Sun's location and lock them up without trial. Everything about it is hush-hush."

"When was this?" 

"It happened about 6 months ago..." 

The three of us are silent in deep thoughts about what we just discovered. It is clear that Angra cares about breaking her sister free and Spenta is innocent. If Spenta really wanted to escape, she could have abandoned her host when HQ ambushed on them. 

This is all judging based on what is on the report, of course. We wouldn't know if there's another story behind it, but from what we see, HQ is clearly the bad guy. 

"So what do we do now?" Emily asks dad. 

He stops a few miles away from the prison perimeter. It is heavily guarded and many HQ Agents in disguise patrolling the area. The prison is well camouflaged as an office building with tinted windows.

"We find out what actually happened to Spenta and Chin-Sun. We're getting into that prison."
