Thank You
((Welcome to inside New York's mind when she is feeling sentimental. There lots of her background story I haven't shared yet, but be patient))
Dear Diary,
This is more of an actual diary entry instead of me just fricking around. But I feel like it needs to be said. It may sound dorky, but it's important to me.
Thank you, Mom, The Iroquois Confederacy, for giving me the first culture, for showing me how to survive on my own, and how to be resourceful, even if my people aren't. Thank you for showing me how to make peace, even if I hold grudges, I can still hold on to memories. Thank you for everything you've done, as a mom, and just a nation yourself. I suppose I should thank the Algonquins, too. Thank you for everything.
Thank you, France, you were on of the first countries to settle me and took lots of my land. You were the cause of the French and Indian War, which tore my state apart, and you sided with Arthur when he did a lot of damage to Sackets Harbor, my favorite one, in 1812, but I love you like a stepdad. I can't stay mad at you, I'll just hold on to those memories for a really long time until I need them for blackmail. You were much help In settling me though and I thank you for that. Thank you for sharing your culture.
Thank you, dad, Netherlands, Hollands, for being a huge influence in my culture. It's beautiful. Thank you for settling me, even if it was only that small area in the Hudson River Valley. I love you most and you mean the world to me, Dad. You influence me the most for the better. My Dutch is still horrible, but I'm trying. I love you.
I love you all so much, you mean the world to me. I could have said much more, good and bad, but I don't want to drag this out too long.
