Chapter Two~I Like Cheeseburgers Too

Natasha's POV

I felt kind of weird stalking a bunch of teenagers in a restaurant in New York, but okay Tony. Whatever floats your boat.

I got into some normal clothes and Tony, Steve, Clint, and I sat in a booth near the seven teenagers.

I got up to use the 'restroom' and placed a mini recorder in the end of the table as I walked by. The blonde girl narrowed her eyes at me, but I appeared to not have noticed.

Once in the stall, I used the comm to talk to my teammates. "Got the recorder, nothing interesting yet. Be right back."

I stood and listened for a couple more minutes. Something about Leo looking like an Earthborn in the morning, a pit, and a Solangelo, whatever the heck that means.

I walked back to our table. All of our comms were now tuned into their conversation.

Then I heard something that almost made me spit out my drink. "Tony Stark...watching...over there."

Suddenly, all the teenagers were looking at us. Some looked nervous, a few looked downright annoyed, like it was an everyday occurrence to be stalked by the Avengers.

They exchanged a few whispers and the guy who I singled out to be their leader, slapped some money down on the table and they all dispersed. I was slightly startled.

I nudged Steve, but they were watching as well. The teenagers took off in different directions like they'd planned their exact route in cause this exact scenario should happen.

I jumped up to follow them and Tony called in his suit.

Tony's POV

Supper was weird. I watched from our booth as the teens laughed and joked like old friends. I saw the girl from earlier and I know at one point that she knew I was there.

I watched the 'leader' dude stir his water which would have been normal, except he wasn't touching it at all. Then they bolted and let me tell you, they put up quite the chase.

Once in the open, I summoned my suit and took off, pursuing the guy with the mesmerizing green eyes. These teenagers sure know how to get lost.

I lost the boy several times. I made sure to call the tower for the rest of the Avengers, and soon we were all hot in pursuit.

The guy must have been in this situation often, because was damn well good at it. And it was kind of hard to hide from Tony Stark, while said awesome specimen is in his Ironman suit.

He dodged around pedestrians like a pro and slipped in a building. I landed and followed, but he was nowhere to be seen.

I scanned the room and noticed that the back door was slightly ajar. Genius. I ran through and came to a dead end. I sighed and flew beside the fire escape and saw the kid jumping off the roof to the next fricking building! Is he insane? No way could he-okay he made it.

How did he make that jump? I hope the other Avengers were having more luck with their prey.

Wanda's POV

I lost the big Asian kid almost immediately. He turned a corner, taking time to smile at me, and disappeared. I ran around the corner, but all I saw was a squirrel rummaging through the trash in the street.

I huffed and continued on in my search, though I never did find him.

$&@$&@$&@$&@

Clint's POV

Man, this kid is fast. I swear, if I didn't know better, I'd think his feet never touched the ground!

My tranquilizer arrows never seemed to hit their mark. Whenever they got near his blond head, they would veer to the side. It must just be a trick of the wind.

Annabeth's POV

The red head is smart, I'll give her that. But she's no match for me. I easily lose her in the crowds and race to Sally's house, where we agreed on meeting up.

We all promised we would make sure no one followed us so as not to endanger Percy's family. The Avengers were really putting up a fight. I sat on the step and waited.

Leo's POV

Oh my gods that guy has wings! That is sooooo cool! I wonder how they were made. If I could just get my hands on them....

An idea came to me. They were definitely a machine. I could easily power them off or make them malfunction, so why not.

As I ran down the streets of New York, I pulled tools out of my tool belt and fashioned a mini insect. I threw it at the birdie guy and he easily dodged. That's okay. I wasn't aiming for him.

The insect made its way inside the metal winds and soon the poor guy was flying into buildings, and soon his wings stopped working entirely and he crashed to the ground.

But I was already gone. Off to Percy's house.

Piper's POV

As I ran down the streets, I couldn't help but fangirl a little bit. The Avengers were chasing us? Awesome! Captain America was hot on my tail? Cool.

But I couldn't afford to get caught. I ran up to a group of girls and jumped right into their conversation. They looked at me strangely and I gave them a pleading look.

"Stalking weirdo chasing me. Act like you know me?" Their eyes immediately filled with pity and understanding. I blended right in and Cap kept on running.

"Thank you guys so much!" I said and ran off to Sally's house.

Tony's POV

Okay this kid is really starting to piss me off. We are currently playing a game of catch me if you can on the top of the buildings in downtown.

I don't know how this kid has managed to stay ahead of me for so long, but I'll get him soon. Besides, I have an idea.

"Hey Bruce, what do you say I bring in their leader for leverage?"

"Have you caught him yet?" Was the answer I got.

"No but I've got a very affective tactic."

"Don't tell me you're going to shoot the kid." Bruce answered nervously.

"Of course not." I lied, "how about your subject?"

"Um... she went in like, five different directions at the same time so...not really sure."

"Kk talk later. Got some business to attend to."

I cut off the conversation and turned my attention back to the kid.

He was near the middle of the roof and I aimed and took a shot at his leg. Just then the building dropped off about a foot and of course he jumped down and the bullet tore through his side.

He stumbled and fell, crying out in pain. His hand was clutching the wound and his face was strained like he was trying very hard not to scream again. I felt a tiny tiny tiny bit guilty, but oh well. Leverage is leverage.

To my amazement, the kid stood up again. He turned and looked me right in the eye and backed up slowly. He looked off the side of the building and gave a nod to someone below.

Then the kid split in three. Three of the the same kid backed away from me and they mixed their positions and I no longer knew which was which.

What the hell?!? I need a vacation. The three clone teenagers all looked nauseous as though the bullet wound was catching up to them.

The middle one fell to his knees and the other two disappeared. I yelled in triumph as he slumped to the roof, unconscious.

I peeked over the side of he building and there stood the African American girl from earlier, the one Bruce was chasing.

She looked deep in concentration as she held up her arms. Had she caused the illusion? Just then, Bruce tackled her from behind and bound her hands behind her back with metal handcuffs, something someone her size would never be able to get out off.

She looked at me with pure rage as I picked up the unconscious form of the boy and flew down to greet them on ground level.

"What did you do to him!" She said seething with rage.

"It's called leverage darling, so you'd better come with me and show me where your friends are, or he dies."

Her face paled, but she gave me directions.

Annabeth's POV

They were taking too long. Where were Percy, Hazel, and Piper? Just then Piper ran over so that solved one of our problems.

Frank at on the grass as a dog and we waited awhile longer. Maybe they were just having a little trouble losing their pursuers? I mean, Percy was being chased by Tony Stark, right?

Frank's ears perked suddenly and he lifted his head, smelling the air. He let out a bark and growled.

"Frank, What is it?" Jason was the first to ask.

Frank turned back to us in human form with a deep frown on his face. "Gunshots." He said.

$&@$&@$&@$&@

The Avengers approached Sally Jackson's household, Hazel's cuffed arm held tightly in Steve Rogers's hand.

Hazel looked like she had been crying. She looked ashamed of herself. "I'm so sorry guys, they made me, I'm sorry..."

She was cut off by the sound of thrusters and Tony Stark flew in with his suit shining in all its glory, holding a bloody Percy Jackson in his arms.

Everyone immediately started to protest. It was all Jason and Frank could do to stop me from flying at them right then and there.

Tony took off his mask and a smug smile sat upon his face. He was proud of what he had done? That monster.

"Okay, so you little pests have put up quite the fight already, but it's time to surrender and come with us now." He said.

"And why should we do that?" I screamed.

"Because, until you do, he gets no medical attention." He answered.

"You monster!" I started screaming and kicking, giving the boys quite the work out.

"But he's dying!" Hazel screamed.

Tony turned to glare at her. "You don't think I know that? I'm in no hurry, so I suggest you guys get your butts moving. I could do this all day, but I can't imagine that your friend here can."

From that moment on, I hated Tony Stark. Some hero he is.

So we all followed the Avengers back to their holding van, my eyes never leaving Percy. We were all given metal handcuffs that Hazel could easily break us all out of. That's not what worried me. What worried me was that they took Percy with them in the separate vehicle, and he was getting paler by the second. He needs medical attention now.

Gods help us all.

$&@$&@$&@$&@

Steve's POV

What we're doing is just plain wrong. And I know for a fact that everyone else in this car is feeling the same way.

Bruce and Tony were driving the holding van, and I sat in the back with Natasha and Wanda; with the kid Tony shot laying across our laps, bleeding out on the car seats.

Clint was driving and Sam sat in the passengers seat. It was a quiet ride home. What have we gotten ourselves into?

$&@$&@$&@$&@

Hazel's POV

I unlocked everyone's handcuffs before we entered the building in case we were put in a holding cell that interfered with my powers.

We still pretended they were secure, but they would be easy to break out of. After a twenty minute car drive in the traffic of downtown, we finally pulled up to a huge tower with a big A on the front.

I wonder how Percy's doing. Their car surely got through traffic faster than ours, right? Hopefully they've already gotten him in the hospital.

It's all my fault Percy's hurt anyway, if only I'd gotten there a little sooner, or if I'd been able to keep up the mist image. I even led them right to my friends. I'm the worst.

Frank seemed to read my mind. "Hey, it's not your fault. He'll be okay."

I nodded and we headed inside. Just so you know, we did not go quietly and I couldn't help but smile and Leo's ability to piss people off.

We arrived at a cell block in the basement of the tower and Tony led us to a hall with many individual, old fashioned cells with thick metal bars. There was a thick veil here though, like I'd anticipated. We will be absent of our powers for the time being.

Tony put us each in a separate one, taking his sweet time as he did so. "Now, I will be back later prisoners, to interrogate you. I have to go check on the other one."

"You're holding up your end of the deal though, right?" Annabeth asked, "he's getting medical attention?"

Tony laughed. "Oh no, the doctors right here." He said, gesturing to Bruce, who stood beside him.

Bruce's skin was turning a little green. "I'm going to go help that kid, Tony." He said firmly.

"Oh no you're not." Tony said. "You're going to stay here and play guard."

"No, Tony, I'm going to help the kid like we said. The one you unnecessarily shot? Yeah that one. And you're not going to stop me. You wanna shoot at me too? See what happens? This guy and the other guy are not too happy with you right now."

Tony gulped and nodded. "Fine." He said. Tony called someone down in his comm and soon the red head and the arrow guy were standing guard as Bruce and Tony heading for the sickbay.

I slowly slid to the floor I'm despair.

2297 words. Holy crap! That's a lot of words. Wow. That was a long chapter. I just felt like I should get all the POVS in there so we could see all the aspects of the story and, of course, the chase. I don't honestly think Tony is that cold and harsh, but I needed that for the story. Let's just say he's having a bad day and he's been possessed by something idk. Just kidding he hasn't been, but that's just his way of thinking as of right now. His attitude will change. Well I hope you guys enjoyed that chapter, I will try to update as soon as possible. I'm currently writing two fanfics at once so, we'll see how that goes. Remember to vote and comment and have a great day! Love ya demigods:)
