chapter 7 (danger)

My head was hurting like hell. I was sitting in the training enter watching Lina and Ray fighting some holograms. I didn't sleep again last night. Deep inside I know that when I close my eyes again I will see Logan again. For a short amount of time I was glad that I saw him again and the feeling I had when I was with him felt so good, but it change so quickly.

The things that happened last night to me and in my dream was not normal. It was all so confusing. Logan never told me that he had a evil side and a good side. I could see so much hatred in his eyes. For the first time in forever I was scared of him.

A other thing that I didn't figure out yet was Felix. How come that he was there in my dream like a real life person and why did he save me?

He kissed me.

I touch my lip still feeling his lips on mine. I didn't kiss him back or anything, but the feeling was there. When Logan yelled no I could hear the hurt in his voice.

The sound from Lina smacking Ray to the ground snapped me out of my thoughts. "Are you okay Hazel? You seem distracted?" Lina said sitting next to me on the bench.

I watch how Ray stand up holding his shoulder. "You know we're in the same team, right?" He said to Lina.

She let out a chuckle before focusing back to me. "I'm alright. It just that I didn't sleep well last night." More like didn't sleep at all. Libby and Connor stayed with me after what happened. They fell back asleep, but I didn't. I was to scared that I would hurt them or that I would fall back again in that dream.

"Hey I get it. Your just stressed out. Why don't you go back to your room and get some rest." I nodded my head and walked away. I didn't want to get some rest I want answers, so I stopped and turn around. "I need to asked you two something." The both of them looked up at me.

"Yeah sure." Ray said.

"Why didn't I know about Abscam?"

The both of them froze.

Not saying something they looked at each other.

"What?" Lina whisper.

I rolled my eyes crossing my arms over my chest. "I said why didn't I know about Abscam." Already I could see that this was useless. They wouldn't tell me anything.

"I..uhm...we. It's..." Lina didn't found the words she wanted to say.

"That's what I thought." I turn on my heels and walked away leaving them alone.

I walk down the hall to my room. Maybe I should read that book, it's the only thing right now that can help me. I look outside the window from the hallway and saw the tree. My heart broke when I saw what happen to it. My feet began to run passing my room.

I ran down the stairs to the backyard. My steps slow down when I reach the tree. The once beautiful tree, that was full of leaves and life was no almost death. I could just feel the pain from the tree inside my chest. What happened to it? I laid my hand on the tree closing my eyes. So much pain and death.

A sighed escape my lips.

This don't feel right. The wind blowed my hair in to my face, but I couldn't care. All I cared about right now was the tree. Under this tree I found out what my powers was and this was the spot where I kissed Logan. "What happened to you?" I whisper.

"It's bad isn't it?" I open my eyes and look behind me. Lina was standing there with her hands behind her back.

"I can feel the tree crying and dying inside. There is so much sadness inside." She said stepping closer. Of course she can feel it it's her power. "One day it started to die and I had no idea why?" She laid her hand on it closing her eyes.

"A part of him is still alive, but the other is death." She explained looking at me. Death is following me everywhere I go. It's taking everything away what I love.

"I'm sorry Hazel about earlier, but they forbid us to say anything about it."

"Why, I need to know." I said stepping away from the tree.

Lina let out a sighed before turning to me. "I don't know. They wouldn't tell us." I need answers. I need someone who can tell me about it. In the castle nobody would tell anything. Connor and Libby don't know anything about it.

That's when it hit me.

I know someone.

"It's okay Lina. I understand." I gave her a weak smile.

"Thank you. Why don't we go inside. It's getting kinda late." I nodded and followed her inside.

I stayed inside my room for the rest of the night. I needed to think. My plan was to sneak out when everyone is asleep, but I just hope the guards won't see me. They would wake up Alaric and he would send me back inside. I just need answers.

It's hard to breath because of all of this. They keep on telling me that everything is okay and that I can beat everything that is on my way, but why can't the see I'm not perfect. I'm still bruised from what happened a couple of months ago.

The time slowly goes by while I wait. It can probably go horrible wrong, but I have to so this.

My eyes landed on the mirror. I was back to being my normal self, but there was something with my eyes. They were still brown, but it was like the bright yellow was fighting his way back. I blink a few times hoping it would go away. The clock hit twelve and I knew that most of the people here were asleep.

Quickly I stood up and put my red jacket on. I was about to open my door when I saw that there was a box laying under my bed. Weird I didn't see that. It was a blue bright box with a white bow on it. I open it and saw that a dark blue cape was inside of it.

It was soft and it felt nice in my hands. You could compare it to Jedi cape, but this one had yellow patron on the hood and at the ends. When I pull it out the box a letter fell on the ground. I sat on the ground against my bed opening it. The moment I open the letter I knew from who it was.

The handwriting was so familiar to me. I had seen it over a thousand times.

Dear Hazel,

if your reading this it means that me and your father are not there with you anymore. It also means that you turned seventeen. At this age I hope you know what your destiny is and how you are going to live your own life. The cape we gave you is a symbol from your kind. It was mine once, but now I give it to you. It's special, it makes you more stronger. All the generation before you have worn it, so there is a lot of power in there. I hope one day you can give it to your child. Don't forget we love you and don't stop believing in your heart.

Loves mom and dad.

A tear hits the paper. It was my birthday present, but how did it get here? I look at the cape and held the fabric between my fingers. I can use this tonight. One of my powers is Invisibility, so if I can use the cape to get more powers I can sneak pas the guards.

I put the box under my bed and put the letter in my nightstand. The cape felt light in my hand when I pick it up. I stood in front of the mirror and put it on. The moment it was around my shoulders I got that save feeling. I felt strong and save. It was really beautiful. The yellow patrons really stood out on the dark blue fabric.

A yellow glow came to my eyes, but I disappeared quickly. It was not the same yellow from last night. It was more soft and friendly. I put the hood on and open my door. Carefully I looked around looking if someone was in the hall. Nobody was there, so I stepped out my room closing the door behind me.

I was a little bite nerves. First, I had to sneak out of the castle, second they can bust my ass any second and third to get to the person I want to talk with I had to go through the forest. Let's just say that it's dark outside, it's past midnight and I'm al alone, but hey what could go wrong.

I walked down stairs seeing guards in front of the gate. Quickly I hide behind a wall before they could see me. I have to distract them, but how? Think Hazel think. My eyes wander around the room trying to find something. I could blind them with my light, but they would know that it was me and would wake up Alaric. I look down and saw that there was a few stones in front of my feet.

A smirk came to my face when I though about a plan.

I pick them up and held them closely in my hands. For this I need to get invisible. I had to concentrate, so I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. The moment I closed my yes I could feel the energy from the cape. I felt warm and save again.

I open my yes and looked at my hand.

It was disappearing.

It when up my arm to the rest of my body. I couldn't see it anymore or the cape. Everything was gone, even the stones inside my hands. Okay this is awesome. I look back to the guards and step from behind the wall. They couldn't see me, but I know for sure that they could hear me.

I stood a few feet away from them when I throw one of the stones into the other hallway. "Did you hear that?" One of the guards said. I throw a other one and they ran to the hall. Quickly I run to the gate opening it. I made sure that I close it behind me before running of.

I came to a stop when I was in the village. When I look down I saw my body again and the cape. That was fun. Making sure that nobody was following me I ran through the street. I know that people are asleep now, but I just wanted to play it safe. I don't want them to alarm Alaric or the castle.

I came to the edge of the forest and stopped. I have been in the forest at night, but I was never alone. There was this feeling inside of me saying that something was going to jump at me any second now. Come on Hazel you can do this. You have been through so much a little forest can't stop you now.

I took a deep breath before taking my first step into the forest. I pull the cape tighter against my body. This forest was giving me the chills. The trees were blowing lightly in the wind making them crack. Leaves blowing everywhere. A owl was sitting in the tree. I could see his yellow eyes. It was a long walk to the house of the person and it was getting darker.

I open my hand and a little light came out. It flew out my hand and flew right in front of me.

"Guide me the way." I whisper.

It started to move forwards leading me the way into the darkness.

After a long time I finally made it to the house. It was still the same since I last saw it. A light was shining through the window, so I know that he was still awake. Quickly I made my way through the front door knocking on it. For a long time I couldn't hear anything, but then there were footsteps. He open the door and before I could say anything he already said something.

"Hello Hazel. I expected you." I took the hood from my head and gave him a weak smile.

"Hello Crowley, it's nice to see you again." He stepped to the side letting me in. The inside was warm and nice. I followed him to a big room. Where a huge fire place was burning. A big desk was right in front of it. On the walls books were standing up to the celling. A big mirror was hanging on a other wall. It was really nice and magical in here.

"With what can I help you?" He asked sitting down behind a desk.

"I'm here for answers, but I don't know the questions to the answers." He look at me with a warm and serious look.

"My child, I know that you'r lost. I can see that. A great danger is coming your way and you have to stop it before it stops you. I can also see that something evil is hanging around you, but on the other hand it's good too. They are constantly battling trying to fight each other." I was really confuse, but I just let it slide.

"You are still strong Hazel, even with Logan's death. That mean something, you just have to figure out what it is."I nodded my head. It means that I still miss him.

"What do you know about Abscam?" A amused smirk came to his face.

"The question is what do you know about it?" He lean back in his chair waiting for me to answer.

" I know that I'm more stronger there and that nobody wants to tell me about it."

"There is a reason for that. The truth about Abscam is not easy and maybe you're not ready to hear it." Maybe I am.

A sighed escape my lips.

"Dear child you'r still bruised from losing Logan. Don't get things in your head if you don't need them. It won't make you stronger, but weaker." Man he can really read me like a open book. I wanted to say something when he put his hand up standing up. He looked behind me into the dark hallway.

"Child hide. There is great danger here. If you can escape do it and don't worry about me." He took my hand and guid me behind a bookcase. I was shield with the books and the shadows, but I cloud clearly see the room. Crowley walked back to his desk and the moment he sat down on his chair the door was kicked in.

Four figures came walking in bringing the coldness with them. Crowley was sitting behind his desk not looking scared or anything. My eyes widened when I saw who they were. Why would they be he here? They walked in the room looking at Crowley.

It was Ragnar, Tanya, Felix and someone else, but I couldn't see their face. He had a hoodie on and his back was facing me.

"Hello Crowley." Ragnar said stepping to the desk.

"Hello Ragnar what a pleasure to have you here in my house." A chuckle escape Ragnar mouth.

"Crap the chit chat. We're here for a reason." Tanya said cutting her brother of. Ragnar gave her a glare before turning back to Crowley. My eyes when to Felix and the other person. They we're looking around in the big office. The figure turn around and I thought that I could see his face, but I couldn't.

The shadows in the room was covering halve his face and he had sunglasses on. Seriously who wears sunglasses at night. The person look around like he was looking for something when his eyes landed on me, well on the spot where is was hiding. My back press more against the wall behind me, so that I was completely out of the light. Normally you couldn't see me because of the books and stuff, but it was like he was looking directly at me.

For a second I thought that he found me, but then he looked away again. "So why are you here then?" Crowley asked them.

"We're here for the map." Ragnar said leaning on the desk.

A chuckle escape Crowley's mouth. "I don't have it."

The smirk disappeared from Ragnar face. He wanted to say something, but Tanya beat him to it. "Look we know that Trisha gave it to you when she defeated Abraham, so give it to us." They're talking about my grandmother.

"The queen in deed give it to me, but I had to hide it somewhere where you couldn't fined it." He answer her.

"Tell us where it is then!" She demand.

"It's not that easy. It's In someone's head. The person doesn't even know he have it and only he can tell the way. The queen wanted it to be with someone she trusted and where it's save. Someone who is close to her, so that something happen to that person she can protect it." Crowley explained.

I need to get out of here, but I also need to listen to them. Who knows maybe it can be useful. Suddenly Ragnar grab Crowley by his neck lifting him up from his seat. A gasp escape my mouth, but I quickly cover it with my hand.

"Listen old man we don't have time for it. Tell us who the person is." Tanya said stepping next to her brother.

"I think you already know who the person is." He said.

A smirk came on Ragnar's face.

"Hazel."

Oh no.

"Of course it has to be her." Tanya said walking away.

She whispered something to the unknown person. He nodded and walked to Crowley. I really need to go. If they find me than everything can turn out bad. Quickly I turn invisible and walked from behind the bookcase. Slowly I walk to the door trying not to make a sound.

"You." I hear Crowley say.

I didn't look back.

I know when I look back they could catch me. I wanted to fight them, but they are with four an I'm on my own. The only thing I can do now is to get help. I hear a chuckle before I ran out the door. My legs ran as fast as they could. There was no time to waist. They could kill him if I didn't hurry. The castle came in my sight and I began to run faster. Quickly I ran into the castle ignoring the yelling from the guards.

I ran straight to Alaric's room with the guards behind me, but I was faster. The moment I came to his door I knocked on it like my I life's depends on it. I was out of breath and I couldn't say much, but the moment he open the door I could say one sentence.

"Crowley is in danger."
