chapter 10 (thousand questions)
"So your grandmother is the queen here." Libby's said when we walked in the snow.
"Yes. All of this is hers." There was a lot of snow and I was trying to find our way to the castle. The last time my grandmother found us, but now I have no idea how to get there.
"We need to stop." I said turning towards them.
"What, why?" Connor asked looking concern.
"I have no idea where we have to go." Both of them looked at me. "I'm sorry the last time I had some help and my grandmother came."
A sighed escape Connors lips. "What do we do now?" Libby asked looking around. Connor was pacing back and fort. "Who helped you the last time?" He asked grabbing my shoulders. "Uhm the guard groom Terraite, but then my grandmother came." He nodded his head.
"Okay can that guard help us again?" He let go of me taking a few steps back. "No he only listen to.... Wait a minute yes he can." Connor stood next to Libby and waited for me to do something. "Okay what ever happens don't be scared." A confuse look came on their faces.
"Hazel what do you mean?" Libby asked grabbing Connors arm.
"Don't worry." I said before putting two fingers in my mouth.
A loud whistle escape my lips. I was hoping that something would happened, but nothing happened.
Death silent.
A sighed escape my lips. "Okay maybe he can't hear us." I said turning towards them.
Before they could say anything something jump out the snow right on top of me. Slime and a wet tongue was followed after I fell in the snow.
"Hazel!" I hear Libby scream.
A giggle escape my mouth when he licked my face. "Down boy, I'm happy to see you too." I crawl from underneath him. Always nice to see him. I brush some snow from my clothes before petting him on the head. He sat down waggling his tail.
I turn around and saw that Libby still was holding Connors arm. "It's okay you guys he's very friendly." Libby hesitate, but let go of Connors arm.
Slowly she made her way to me, carefully putting her hand on the head of the guard. A smile came on her face when the guard put his head more to her hand. Connor came walking next to her. He watched how his sister pet the large and danger looking creature.
I kneel down and looked at the guard. "Can you bring us to the castle?" I was looking him right in his eyes and for some reason I could feel that he understand me. With one swift move he stood up and began to walk a direction. "Come on. He will show us the way."
We began to follow him to the castle.
After walking for a hour we came to the castle. It was still the same. Big, white and really beautiful. "Wow." I hear Libby breath out. A smile came to my face. It's really beautiful here. We inter the castle and I saw that there was nobody here.
Strange.
The last time I was here a lot of people walked here. "It's really quiet here." Libby whisper walking closer to her brother. She's right something is wrong here. It's too quiet. Suddenly men jump up from the snow surrounding us. I saw that they had crossbows and was about to shot us.
"Down!" I yelled while pushing Libby and Connor to the ground. We all fell in the snow, but just in time. Arrows flew above our hits. I made a shield around us and the guard so that it wouldn't hit us.
"Enough!" A voice echo through the air.
The arrows stopped and I let the shield down. "That's my granddaughter." I look up and saw my grandmother. A smile came on my face when I saw her. "And your princess." She added. The men bowed in front of me.
"Uhm princess?" I hear Connor behind me, but I ignored him.
I was to focused on my grandmother. She made her way over to me letting the snow fall from the sky. "Hey grandma." I said softly. A warm smile came to her face. " Hello Hazel. It's nice to see you again." I hugged her and she hugged me back. I really missed her. I miss living with her.
She pulled away and looked behind me.
"Hazel, what is Libby and Connor doing here. You know it's too dangerous for humans to be here." She didn't know about them. "Grandma it's okay they are Nimfen too." She looked at Libby and Conner and study them.
"They are water Nimfs." Gasps came from around us.
She nodded her head. "Well you two are welcome here." I turn to them and they smiled.
"Thank u." Libby said.
"Now Hazel it's not that I'm not glade to see you, but why are you here?" Where do I started. There is too much to tell her and too much I need to asked her. "I'm here about the map." There came a serious look on her face.
The friendly smile she had earlier was gone. "Okay come inside." The snow stopped and we began to walk behind her. "Uhm princess?" Connor whisper when he started walking next to me.
"Yeah, I'm kinda the princess here. I know it's weird and no I don't like it." I explained a little bit embarrass. He shook his head with a smile.
"If you say so princess." I push him playfully while rolling my eyes at him.
We came in to the castle and Libby and Connor were send to their rooms, because it was late at night. They brought me to another, so that I could talk to my grandmother. I was standing alone in a big room. My grandmother would come, but she had to do something first.
The only thing I want from her now is to get the map out of my head. The less Mafalda want from me the better. That thing needs to get out of my head before Mafalda gets it. They know I have it, but I just don't know how to use it. Even if I know how I wouldn't bring her to Abraham and even then she don't have enough power to wake him up.
Only Logan had that kind of power.
My grandmother came walking in and we all looked at her. "So I talked with Alaric." Ow..... He's probably not letting me come back.
"He was disappointed that you had come to me even when he said no." I gave her a weak smile.
"I'm sorry, but I had to see you. Mafalda knows that I have the map. You have to get it out of my head before she gets it." My grandmother walked pass me to the window. She looked outside and let out a sighed. "I'm afraid that it's not that easy Hazel. I gave you that map because I knew that it was save with you." But I don't want it. It will only bring me more trouble.
"And only you can read it. Even I can't read it." She turn around and walked to me.
"Hazel I know that you have been through a lot, but that map have to be kept save and you are the only one who can protect it." I bite my lip looking down.
If I could deal with al of this I would have want it, but I can't. "What if they catch me and use the map?" My grandmother cupped my cheek.
"They can't Hazel. They need you to read it." I ran my fingers through my hair and let out a sighed.
"How do I use it?" My grandmother had a confuse look on her face.
"Why would you want to use it?" I have no idea.
I just want to know how.
"Nobody should use that map, ever!" She said standing more straight.
"Okay." I just don't want it in my head.
"Do you wane asked something else?" I have thousand questions, but I have know idea if she got the answers.
"A few nights back a had a horrible dream. It was Logan. He was evil and wanted to kill me. He even bite me and drank my blood. When I woke up I vomited blood. My eyes were dark yellow and the arm he bite me was burning. It was like my heart was dark and heavy. I wasn't myself." My grandmother came closer to me and cupped my face.
She looked in my eyes and I could feel her mind going into mine. I close my eyes and let her go more inside. My dream appeared before my eyes and that night were Crowley got attacked. Suddenly she let go of me and took a few steps back. I open my eyes and saw that she looked at me with fear in her eyes, but she quickly change it to her normal stare.
"Hazel something dark I hanging around you, it's in your head." Crowley said the same thing, but I don't know what that mean. It would be nice if they told me what it was.
"And I'm afraid that I know what it is." Well tell me! I need to know.
If it's inside of me or coming after me. I need to know what it is.
"It was the same darkness I felt when I fought Abraham."
