Chapter 71

Right after Brando said that, silenced ensnared the pergola.

The knights and both the elven emperor and empress were shocked at what had just transpired.

Brando's hands were now covered in some sort of black metallic gloves. In front of him, were some sort of mixed lump of gold, silver ball.

The mixed gold and silver ball also had some crystal like pores plastered all around it, giving an unwell impression of it.

Grabbing the metal lump, standing up, Brando then held the metal lump in front of the knights and said,

"I hope this could be a lesson to you all."

"Now, here are your swords."

After Brando said this, he then dropped the metal lump of gold and silver in front of the knights.

Hearing the words and seeing the action Brando had done in front of them, the elven knights felt heat spread all over their face.

After saying what he had in thought for the knights, Brando then faced Emperor Amir and said,

"Your men lack self-control. I advise you to train them to have one."

Hearing this, Emperor Amir frowned.

Ever since becoming Emperor, not one have dared to order him as such, much less, a hyuman.

"Apologies, they only did so due to you not giving face."

Hearing this, Brando then raised an eyebrow and asked,

"Do I have to give face to every Emperor I meet then? Even if I have not met them nor know anything about them."

"Do I have to give face to such?"

After Brando asked this, the Emperor, the Empress, and the knights at the area all stared in silence at Brando.

Seeing their silence, Brando then said,

"To be amicable, that's one thing. We clearly expressed this intention when you arrived."

"But to give face, that's another thing. And more so you ruined it by testing as using the conjecture."

"Testing us without prior notice is just disrespectful no? And more so, you made me use a lot of TB. So, do you think I would actually give face that much?"

After hearing this, Emperor Amir had an unpleasant expression displayed on his face.

The knights were humiliated, and his status as Emperor was ignored by Brando.

In normal cases, the knights would have already took hold of Brando and his people due to such an action of intimidation. However,

That action have been negated by Brando himself. Disarming them of their weapons through unknown means.

Thinking deeply, although he didn't understand some points on Brando's statement, he was sure of one thing based on his political experience as an emperor.

He was pissed.

Emperor Amir then looked at his wife, the Empress.

Empress Miryana, who had her eyes closed, have now then slowly opened them.

After this short action of hers, she then looked at Amir and nodded.

Seeing that she nodded, the unpleasant expression that Amir had, have eased a little.

Noticing this, Brando then said.

"Feeling relieved that the spirits inside are fine eh."

Hearing this, Emperor Amir then looked at Brando cautiously.

"You knew what i was thinking?"

"I don't need to read minds to know what the other party is thinking."

"Since they themselves would show it." Said Brando as he stared at Emperor Amir blankly.

"What are you planning to do?" Asked Emperor Amir coldly.

With an blank expression, Brando then replied.

"Nothing. I'll do nothing to them."

Hearing this, the cold expression Emperor Amir had, had returned to that of cautiousness.

"Your really not going to do anything to the spirits?"

"The spirits aren't the one at fault. You are."

"I will not harm them. Nor will I imprison them. I'm not an inhuman a-hole that would do anything unnecessary."

Not dropping his cautiousness, Emperor Amir then asked.

"How can you prove that-?"

A loud clap reverberated the pergola.

"I'll show you then. Right. Now."

Right after Brando said this, voices of astonishment were heard from the knights.

"O-oii-oii!! Th-that gold ball is squirming!!"

"E-eh??! I-it began floating on its own!!

The golden, silver metallic ball then began floating in midair. Seeing this, Emperor Amir's cautiousness immediately rose to a new level. With a grim expression and a dead cold stare.

The golden silver metallic ball then made its way towards Brando, hovering above him.

Whilst observing this, Emperor Amir then asked.

"What are you going to do to them?"

"Well, I can give you two options." Replied Brando.

"What are those two?" Asked Emperor Amir in an even colder tone.

"One, I can return them to their original form." Replied Brando with a slight smirk.

"And the second one?"

"I can improve them."

After Brando said this, the pergola once more have been entered with silence.

The only difference however, was that the cold atmosphere Emperor Amir was giving have disappeared.

Instead, an air of confusion have enshrouded the area.

Amidst this confusion, Emperor Amir then asked.

"Im sorry. What was that?"

Confused by this question, Brando then repeated what he said.

"I said, I can improve it."

After Brando said this, the pergola have then once more entered silence. The difference this time however, is that the air of confusion have disappeared.

In its midst, seriousness and irritation have then portrayed the expressions of the elves.

"I hope you know what you are talking about... Sir. Brando. The infusion of blessed weapons and spirits is a dire condition in the creation of weapons within the Elven Empire."

"Even our best blacksmiths and spirit walkers would need extensive training and practice just to succeed in creating such weapons."

"More so, we also need to have the weapon to be likable by the spirits, in order for us to infuse it."

"And your telling me, a hyuman like you, who seems to know barely anything in its process, can improve it?"

"Aren't your words too dreamy... Sir. Brando?"

After Emperor Amir said this, Brando then closed his eyes and went silent.

Seeing this action, the knights, whose weapons were taken, turned by Brando in to nothing but a blob. No longer showed irritated expressions.

Instead, they openly showed mocking expressions.

"Tch! Look at him boasting. Making a promise that he can improve spirit weapons. Only to end up being silenced by the Emperor. What a pity."

"Go back to your motherland hyuman. You'll only end up embarrassing yourself here."

"Hyumans as always. Always looking for a chance of trickery."

Not paying any heed to their mockery, Brando then blankly asked.

"What are the conditions the weapon must be in order for it to be accepted by the spirits then?"

After Brando asked this, the pergola once more have turned silent.

In fact, it weren't just limited to the pergola, but instead, every single elf that heard this question immediately halted in their tracks.

"Oi, oi. Is that human serious? He's going to improve an spirit weapon??"

"Its a bluff. All of it are bluffs. How could a hyuman even know anything about spiritual infusion."

"Is this hyuman really going to fulfill what he said??? If not, then this hyuman is just looking for death from lying to the Emperor."

Whilst a large commotion was ongoing on the area, Emperor Amir then went deep in thought while staring at Brando.

"What is he thinking..." Thought Emperor Amir.

"Improve weapons of the spirit grade to whole other level? If it were elves or dwarves that said this, I would have believed in it's feasibility. But to a hyuman?"

"Only a crazy elven, or perhaps dwarven would believe this preposterousness."

"In order for a weapon to be of suitable for the spirits that would reside on it. The weapon made must be done in an careful and exquisite manner."

"Every hammer, every stroke, every sharpen. All of it must be down in utmost care. So much that when one looks at it, it could be considered as of one of the greatest artistic image ever created."

"The degree of difficulty on the creation of such weapons is high. To high, that when it is successfully created, cheers of joy would come bursting out of its creator."

"And a hyuman claims that he will improve such things??"

"Such absurdness..."

While the Emperor was in the process of deep thought, Brando simply had his eyes closed, with an air of serenity, seemingly surrounding him.

"Can't believe my words?" Asked Brando to the Emperor.

The Emperor nodded while still being in deep thought.

Opening his eyes and giving the Emperor a sigh, Brando then said.

"If you can't believe that I will not harm them but instead improve them, then let's sign an oath, vow, or contract."

"Your choice."

After Brando said this, the Emperor looked at him seriously and said,

"Then are you willing to sign an Spirit insignia?"

With a small grin and interest in his eyes, Brando asked.

"What is this Spirit insignia you speak of?"

Hearing Brando's question, Emperor Amir replied,

"This concept is barely known to most hyuman powers out there. And is decreed that this must not be told to any other species other than dwarves and elves."

"A spirit insignia is what one would call, a contract for spirit holders."

"The only difference for this type of contracts, is that, instead of us overseeing this contract, it would be the spirits that would be overseeing this. Creating no loopholes for a breach of contract."

"It also justifies the breach through the consequences made by the other party. So if a breach is made, the consequences shall be delivered."

"This is a spirit insignia."

After Emperor Amir briefed Brando about this, Brando then asked,

"You said contract for spirit holders. Then wouldn't that divide me from this?"

After Brando asked this, Emperor stared at him from top to bottom and said,

"That was before."

Raising an eyebrow, Brando then asked,

"Before?"

Emperor Amir then looked at Brando's lap.

Following Emperor Amir's gaze, Brando then understood what he meant by 'before'.

However,

"This guy?"

"Yes. That guy." Replied Emperor Amir.

"Although it is still young, I believe that it will suffice because you are new to this, and that young one is, well, young." Said Emperor Amir as both him and Brando looked at the young red spirit lazing around on Brando's lap like a cat.
