Chapter 41

"Whew."

"The situation with her seems fine now. But, how did she ended up in a situation like that anyway?"

Aurelio took the question out of his head for the moment.

They saw the fight between the pirates and Lucilia through the HummingBird's live feed and through the live feed from an Advanced UAV.

There, they saw the power of magic and it's mysteries. Just by seeing it, most of them already believed that magic itself bend nature at will while a small amount of some thinks that it either has a scientific reason or it's nature itself just imparting it's powers to people.

Nevertheless, it's incomprehensible for people that lived in the era of a future modern age, were magic probably never existed.

"Hmm? Sir! Something fast is headed towards us."

Aurelio went to this person managing the deep sea radar of the carrier.

There, on the radar, something fast was headed towards them.

"Sir, it runs on the speed somewhere around 15 to 25 kph.

Giving himself some moments of contemplation, Aurelio said,

"Predict it's direction, then drop depth charges on its path. I don't want any huge Eel suddenly appearing within the fleet again."

"Aye aye sir."

Moments later a large column of water suddenly rose into the air followed by a very muffled sound like explosion.

"Hmm?"

However,

"Uh sir?"

"I know."

After the column of water disappeared, some sort of ball of water was seen floating in midair.

Admiral Aurelio's fleet consisted of four dreadnoughts, two cruisers, and 6 destroyers.

It may seem powerful but it is actually just a small fleet in the Philippine navy since the currently large fleets would have at least around 2-5 missile carriers and had at least 3 air carriers with it. And, as for it's defense, there would at least have one barrier Grau class mothership.

"Man your stations! Get the guns ready."

While the water ball was still floating in the air, tetrahydron and tempest class weapons were pointed to the floating water while the three dreadnoughts on the north, east, and west of the air carrier have already pointed their barrels to this floating mass of water.

"Spotter. Anything?"

"Sir I'm picking up thermal signatures within the ball of water. Not sure what it is though since the red is moving around."

"I see."

Aurelio contemplated for some moments. Currently the situation arrived at a standstill, were either side just observes the other.

"Sir, there's movement within the water ball." Said the spotter.

After the spotter said this, the ball of water immediately turned larger and tentacle-like stems suddenly sprouted from it.

Seeing the sudden change, Aurelio immediately gave his orders.

"Activate the small scale frequency barrier. Don't let the planes get destroyed."

He then took his radio and told the three dreadnoughts, Himala, Jacento, and Mikal to open fire.

"Hm? Sir, there's a silhouette of a person inside."

"What now?!"

*Boom* *boom*

Shots were made. The pulse cannons from the dreadnoughts bombarded the water ball like there was no tommorow.

Aurelio immediately called off the attack. By the time the attacks ceased, the water ball had already an undescribed image of being blown apart with holes all over around it.

The ball then fell on the carrier's runway, dispersing. And then there, a body replaced it's place.

.....

*Meiya POV*

"What kind of beast was that. I could barely see it's form..."

When they saw that dot from the far horizon, she didn't know why but something within her told her to escape immediately the moment that dot appeared.

And subconsciously, the next thing she noticed was that she was already under the water. And then, she caught a glimpse of that dots form.

It had a pointy head, and it's presumably, wings, were weirdly covering it's body up to its tail.

This was the vague image that came to her mind when she saw it zoom pass them.

After it passed them, huge ripples were seen on the surface of the water. Even she, who was submerged underwater, saw how huge those ripples were.

Then after that, muffled roars came, greeting itself to her ears.

Then, she saw two bodies, sinking in the water.

Soon after, another two more fell to the surface of the sea. Then one more body followed.

She didn't went over too see whose body those were since she already knew whose bodies were those.

They were her team members on the task at hand.

A task that she knew they had failed.

She took this matters of her head. The world is just cruel and that's just it.

"It's been quite some time now since that 'monster' appeared." Thought Meiya.

She stayed underwater while moving just to be sure that her fate won't end the same like her dead team members when that 'monster' appears once more.

"Hmm?"

Looking above her, Meiya noticed cutting through the surface of the water.

"Ships?"

"Probably just passerbys."

She then continued on her way, however, sooner or later, she felt that something was amiss when she noticed more ships moving across her.

"A merchant fleet?"

The most plausible answer that came to her head when she saw the ships passing through, however,

"That's not right. When were merchant ships capable of getting metal hulls?"

And then, she suddenly noticed something in front of her.

It was a black box but there was this red light on the top left corner of it. The red light was turning on and off followed by an accompaniment of clear beeping sounds.

Not knowing what it was but also at the same time interested on how it could deliver clear sounds underwater, she just continued on her way and planned to inspect it at the least.

However, she suddenly felt that something not good would happen when she gets more closer to that thing.

And then, the beeping stopped

Subconsciously, she immediately made hand formations, creating a very thick and visible water barrier around her.

By the time she was finished on creating the water barrier, the small black box then exploded.

*BOOM*

"Ack!"

She felt like being thrown around within the barrier and felt like her stomach acids was about to go up.

Later on, she felt that something was lifting her.

She then created a series of hand formations to control the water barrier's movement just to ease her stomach.

"Ugh...." She groaned.

By the time she cleared her head from all the shaking, she was left there, wide-eyed.

A runway, small arrowheads on the runway (her description), long greyish ships with blue outlines, long cylindrical sticks to which she would presume as cannons, and a long rectangular...... Skeletal box like thing with piercing light at it's center.

Through this, she already has a gist of what she just crossed with.

"This..... This is no merchant fleet....... This..... This is a military naval force!!"
