Chapter 32
"This.... Are you sure about it?"
It's been 2 days since the people from Marsus kingdom came with the request from Philippines just to help them identify the materials they have.
Although there were some incidents (like fainting), the Philippine government have decided to give their large stockpile of 'crystals' to Marsus kingdom since they don't have any use to such crystals.
So, they simply said the simple straight forward words of, "take a few, give the rest".
"Well yeah.... We still don't have specific uses for this..... crystals. At most, we'll only take a few bunch of it and do research on it while the rest could be yours."
The people from Marsus kingdom tried to open their mouths to say something, but, they simply couldn't. By glance, their expressions even seemed funny.
After struggling to say their thanks to their generosity, one of the people from Marsus kingdom asked.
"Whe-where did you actually got all of these anyways?"
The Philippine materials manager gave a contemplating expression before he took something from his pockets.
The 'thing' was black and small. But when the materials manager took hold of it, the 'thing' lighted up.
It attracted the attention from those that are from Marsus kingdom but they couldn't observe long since the materials manager immediately put it in his ear.
More moments passed while the materials manager was nodding his head subtly from time to time.
When the materials manager took down the 'thing' on his ears and put it on his pockets once more, he said,
"Alright, I was given permission to tell you where we got the crystals. But please, just keep it to yourselves and the King."
The people from Marsus kingdom didn't reply, but they all nodded their heads rigorously.
Satisfied with their agreement, the materials manager then nonchalantly said where they got the cyrstals.
"No man's land."
"......"
"What?"
......
A very long line of convoys with military units then went on ahead with the people from Marsus kingdom to deliver the large haul of crystals.
"To think that the materials we got were this much that it even made a long line of trucks and vehicles just to transport it."
The person that said this is the same man that went on and had an extraction team dug their first unknown material.
"Commander, it's your fault it became like this anyways. You were so hyped that you even made the government bring more extraction teams to No man's land and get this materials."
The person that said this was the gorgeous woman that was with the man during the first day of extraction.
The man remained silent while smiling nervously.
The woman then gave a low sigh at her commander's actions.
"Always aloof and carefree huh." She thought.
While these two were observing the long line of convoys, an elegant looking man came and nonchalantly said,
"Commander Brando, vice-commander Nieves. It's a surprise seeing you observing things like this."
The man named Brando and the woman named Nievas both looked at their backs to see who mentioned their names, they, however, were surprised to see who called them.
The man before them was the President. President Macario Dela Santos.
"President.... You're here. More of that, your also alone." (Brando)
"Mr. President, we have already said that it's not safe to be strolling around on your own." (Nievas)
Hearing the comments of Brando and Nievas, he simply smiled.
"Wether I'm alone or not is not up to you to decide. I am the President you know."
Dark lines appeared on the foreheads of Brando and Nievas. Sometimes a good president is also stubborn one. And this was the best example.
Macario simply laughed at their expressions. He then said,
"I'm not actually alone, I have you two near me anyways."
Hearing this, the dark lines on Brando and Nievas darkened even more.
"Yep, stubborn alright." They thought.
Not paying attention to their expressions anymore, he then nonchalantly said,
"Alright then, as President, I order you two to be my guide and bodyguards. Now, come and let me see the progress we have done this past few weeks."
"....."
As seeing that the two was still silent, he smirked and laughed loudly.
......
Feeling the breeze past her cheeks, Lucilia was smiling as she and her crew were sailing on the La Camesa.
She took something from her small bag that was hanging by her shoulder. That 'something' was a square looking paper. But it wasn't actually square if you look closely but a folded one at that.
Unfolding the paper for some moments, what she sees now is a perfectly laid map that shows the continent and it's surrounding islands. Looking further east of it was the Philippines.
After laying down the map, she retrieved a small black sphere object from her bag.
She then said faintly, "Scan".
After she said this, projected lines erected from the black sphere and swept through the laid map.
The process continued for some moments, soon the projected lines then concentrated and pointed at a single location.
"Hmm, so we're already close to the mainland, but why don't I see any port. They did say there was a port here right?"
Lucilia was contemplating on the current situation.
Last time she was in the Philippines, she saw many things that even she couldn't comprehend.
Thinking of it now, then does that mean that the port they made also won't be normal.
She immediately shook her head as this was simply preposterous.
The port they made simply couldn't poof In and out just like that right.
Too bad that even if she wants to take such thoughts off her head, it was still the inevitable truth that the port do can poof in and out. The only difference is that it's not the poof in and out as she thought
While Lucilia was wondering on the location of the port, she suddenly heard cries from her men.
"Pirates! Pirates!"
When Lucilia heard this, she was bewildered.
"Pirates?" She thought.
She then used a no attribute magic 'keen sight' to see what one of her men was talking about.
After looking around, she only saw 1 pirate ship.
"Just one?"
Soon however, more and more ships appeared on her view.
Lucilia stumbled.
"A pirate fleet! Oh God!"
A single pirate ship could be handled by most sailors. An expedition crew like hers could easily handle on themselves.
However, the talk would be different if it were a pirate fleet. And based on what she saw, there were over 18 pirate ships on this fleet.
An expedition crew like hers would not even be able to last long in a fight, much less than a fight to the death.
"Raise our sails! Wind users increase our speed! We must not get entangled with the pirate fleet!"
Her orders were immediately given. Her crew did not waste time as well.
In a situation like this, if one can escape immediately then that would be the only time they are safe.
