Chapter 31

***Serena's POV

"Why aren't you in the pool?" Platinum yells from the edge of the pool.

"You guys look like you're having so much fun, I don't want to interupt," I explain.

Platinum sighs.

"Silver! Can you help us out here?" Gold yells.

Silver ignores him and keeps doing whatever he's doing on his tablet.

"Come on Serena! It's ok to have fun," Crystal says.

I don't know.

"Guys!"

We turn towards the entrance and see Green run in.

"Everything ok?" Silver asks, suddenly very interested.

"Yellow and Sarah are both awake now!"

"That's great!" I yell.

"Yeah! Let's celebrate by having the huge dinner Dia is finishing up with," Green says.

"Let's go! I love his cooking!" Gold say as he throws Crystal off his shoulders and jumps out the pool.

"Hey!"

I giggle as I begin to make my way up.

...

We get dressed and head towards dining room. Once we arrive, I stand there in awe.

There's a diamond chandlier hanging above a long rectangular table, with fancy looking chairs. Along the wall are paintings of different Pokemon, along with one of each trainer.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Platinum asks.

"It really is," I answer.

"Everyone, take your seat. We'll start once everyone gets here," Crystal says.

"What about May?" I ask.

"She'll be here, don't worry," Platinum says, sitting down at the table. Pearl, Crystal, Gold, and Silver do the same. I end up sitting next to Crystal.

The door opens, and Sapphire and Ruby come in, giggling. I notice they're holding hands.

I can't help but grin.

"So they're finally a thing, huh?" Gold whispers over to Crystal.

"Looks like it," she replies, as they sit down next to each other.

Ruby looks over at me, and winks.

My grin grows wider.

The door opens again, and in comes May, slowly walking over. She grab the chair next to me and sits down.

"How are you?" I ask.

May shrugs, and stares at the plate in front of her.

Five minutes later, Sarah, Yellow and Green come in. They all appear to be in some sort of debate.

"I don't know, ask Green," Yellow mumbles as she sits next to May, and Sarah sits across from her. Green sits next to Yellow.

"Hey, a bet is a bet," Green says.

"But I'm not so sure why I'm involved in this," Sarah says.

"You were in the room, that's why," Green says, smirking.

Yellow and Sarah look 100 percent better. They look as if nothing happened.

"Hey, you know what I just realized?" Sapphire says.

"What?" Platinum asks.

"We're missing Emerald."

Everyone sits there awkwardly in silence.

"So you're telling me, that Emerald has been missing, and no one noticed?" Crystal asks.

More awkward silence.

Crystal opens her mouth to say more, but then the door opens again, and a short boy with long green hair walks in.

"Hey guys!"

He casually makes his way over and sits next to Sarah.

"Where have you been?" Crystal asks.

"Doing Red a favor," he says, holding his stomach.

"Is the food going to take long? I'm starving!" Emerald says.

As if on cue, Dia comes in from another set of doors, with a big cart full of food.

"Sorry for the wait guys, but I had to make sure everything was perfect!" Dia says.

"Now, come and get it!"

...

The room quickly turns into a party, with voices and silverwear hitting plates. Everyone is sitting down eating, and enjoying each other's company.

"How are you feeling Sarah? Yellow?" I ask, taking a fork full of pasta in my mouth.

"I feel better, thanks," Sarah says, her voice very monotone. She slowly eats her salad.

Looks like she's still holding a grudge on me.

"I feel great! That nap was amazing!" Yellow exclaims, taking another spoonful of soup.

"Nap? What exactly happened?" I asked.

"Well, whenever I read multiple Pokemons' minds, it takes a lot out of me, and it took a lot effort to read Nidoking's mind. But before I could do anything to help, I just knocked out. So I'm sorry for leaving you alone like that," Yellow says.

"It's ok, I was just lucky Nidoqueen stepped in when she did. Where is she anyways?"

"Jason took her to a nearby Pokemon Center, though I don't know why he didn't bring her here," Ruby chines in.

"Weird," Sarah says.

I glance over at May, and she's sitting there silently, stating at her untouched lasagna.

"May, you have to eat something," I plead.

She looks at me with sad eyes, then sighs and brings her fork to her plate.

"So, what were you guys talking about before you arrived to the table?" Sapphire asks the girls.

Yellow chokes and nearly spits up her food. Sarah grins, as Green looks up.

"Well, you see," Green started.

"When Yellow finally woke up, I had to ask her a question. I haven't see her in a while and I've been meaning to ask her," Green says.

"What's the question?" I ask.

"Green, please, don't," Yellow says, blushing.

"It's ok Yellow. He's not here and no one is going to tell him," Green answers.

"Tell who what?" Emerald mumbles with his mouth full of food.

"I asked her if she had a crush on anyone in our team," Green gestures to everyone at the table.

"And I wouldn't tell her," Yellow says, looking at her plate.

"So then I countered that if I guess who it is, she would tell me, and she said I wouldn't guess who it is, and I said bet I will." Green continues.

"She bet if she got it, I would have to wear a dress for dinner," Yellow mutters.

"Yeah, and if I didn't guess correctly, I would tell her who I have a crush on, but I ended up guessing correctly," Green says smiling.

"And I just happened to wake up, and Yellow begged me to wear one with her so here we are," Sarah adds.

"So Yellow, who do you have a crush on?" I ask.

Yellow starts to blush again, and looks at the table.

"You haven't met him yet, but it's this guy named Red."

"I knew it!"

We all turn to Gold. He's pointing at Yellow.

"It was so obvious, everyone could tell. But knowing Red, he didn't see it at all," Gold says, shaking his head.

Everyone breaks out into laughter. Yellow looks like she wants to disappear under the table.

Then the door opens, and in comes Misty.

"I woke up in this weird place, and I was exploring until I heard you guys laughing and I came it. Is that food?" She asks.

"Misty! Come in! Join us!" Pearl says, as she walks over to the food table.

"Well, now Misty is here, so the people we're missing is Red, Blue, Jason, Dawn, and Ash," Dia say. "Once they're here then we can have a real party!"

"Party! Really? That's what you want right now? A party?" May yells, looking up at Dia. Anger is expressed on her face.

"I can't believe this! Lots of people died. Many people can still die. A war can potentially start, and we are the only ones that can stop them! And what are we doing? Here we are having a socializing instead of trying to find way to stop this! And what about Ash. What's going to happen with him? There's so much to do and here we are avoiding it!"

May is breathing heavily, as her body tenses up.

Silver stands up.

"We're not avoiding anything. We are simply enjoying the little time we have left. You're right, a war could break out soon and we have to stop it. But do you know what happens in war? Do you? People die. So that means any one of us can die trying to stop this thing. We have fun now because we don't know when can possibly have fun again. Even me. While I don't swim or socialize as much as these people, I do watch cartoons on my tablet" he says, showing his tablet, with colorful characters on the screen.

"We are keeping our humanity intact, because if we focus on solely getting the job done, we may end up emotionless, then how are we any different than the villains we fight against?" Silver ends, sitting back down.

An awkward silence fills the air as Misty sits down.

"I'm not hungry anymore," May says, excusing herself and getting up.

"Pokemon coordinators, I swear," Silver mutters.

"May, wait," I say, getting up after her. As she opens the door, she's greeted by a familar face.

"Oh hey May," Ash says, scratching the back of his head.

He's covered in dirt, grim, and dried up blood. May dives into Ash and wraps her arms around him. Ash slowly hugs her back.

I simply stand there, my heart beating quicker.

What do I do?

Do I say hi?

Do I wait until he says hi?

What if he doesn't say hi at all?

What if-

"Serena."

I snap back to reality and Ash in staring at me. He slowly stumbles towards me, and he hugs me tightly. I immediately hug him back, and I have to hold back tears.

He's finally here.

"I'm sorry for worrying you," he says, as he slowly let it go.

I frown.

I want more.

He notices my frown, and he smiles. He grabs me by my waist, and pulls in me.

"What are you-"

I'm cut off as his lips make contact with mine, and I feel my body go limp. I close my eyes, and I wrap my arms around his neck.

We eventually let go, and I stand there in awe.

Did that really just happen?

Ash suddenly gasps and he falls over on the ground.

"Ash!"

I dive down at his side. His eyes are shut and his body completely limp.

Jason then walks in, wheeling Dawn in a wheelchair.

"That stubborn kid, he never listens, does he?" Jason says, shaking his head.
