Confronting the real monster

Third Person POV

The trip had started off well, with the boys setting up their tents and gathering firewood for the night. The fresh scent of pine filled the air as they worked together, and for the first time in a long while, Y/n felt at ease. He had sent the girls a text earlier, letting them know that he had officially quit his job due to his mental health. It was a decision he had agonized over, but as he stared at the flickering flames of the campfire that night, he felt relief wash over him.

The boys sat around the campfire, laughter and lighthearted banter filling the night air. Deuce was roasting marshmallows, Heath was attempting to start a small flame in his hand without setting anything else on fire, and Clawd was poking at the logs to keep the fire strong. Y/n sat quietly for a moment, watching them all before finally taking a deep breath.

Y/n: "Hey, guys… can I talk to you about something?" He asked hesitantly.

The boys immediately quieted down, sensing the shift in his tone. Clawd nodded, gesturing for him to continue.

Y/n swallowed hard, staring at the fire.

Y/n: "I know I don't talk much about myself. I guess I've always been… guarded. But I think you all deserve to know why I act the way I do."

There was a long pause before he spoke again.

Y/n: "My uncle… he's been hurting me for years. And I never told anyone because I thought maybe, just maybe, if I did everything right, he would stop. But it never did. It only got worse."

The warmth of the fire suddenly felt suffocating. Y/n’s hands trembled slightly as he continued, his voice shaky.

Y/n: "He found out I lost my part-time job recently. I didn't tell him because I knew he’d be mad. But when he found out…" His voice broke, and he clenched his fists.

This was hard for him to talk to about, since he found out the truth behind his mistreatment.

Y/n: "He said it was my fault. Just like everything else."

The boys exchanged serious glances. Deuce clenched his jaw, his fists tightening.

Deuce: "Y/n… why didn't you tell us sooner?"

Y/n: "Because… I was scared," He admitted.

Y/n: "I didn’t think anyone would care. But the girls—they saw it happen. They confronted me about it, and I finally told them everything. And you know what? I quit my job. I need to focus on my mental health, and I don’t care if my uncle gets mad. I just… I can’t do this anymore."

Clawd put a firm hand on Y/n's shoulder.

Clawd: "You're not alone, man. We’ve got your back. Always."

The other boys nodded in agreement, their expressions filled with determination.

Meanwhile, back in the city, the girls had received Y/n's text and letter. They gathered together at Clawdeen’s house, reading his words carefully. As Clawdeen finished reading, she clutched the paper tightly, her claws digging into it.

Draculaura: "I'm glad he's having a good time," She said softly, glad that her friend is having fun.

Draculaura: "But we need to do something about his uncle. We can't let him go back there."

Frankie nodded.

Frankie: "I agree. He needs to be somewhere safe. We have to help him."

Draculaura: "Yeah, if he keeps going back there he's eventually going to-"she trails off thinking the worst.

The girls knew exactly what she was talking about and then wanted to think that. In fact, that was something that they wanted to prevent.

Clawdeen pulled out her phone and dialed her father. When he answered, she wasted no time getting to the point.

Clawdeen: "Dad, I need your help. It's about Y/n."

She explained everything, from the abuse to Y/n’s breakdown. As she spoke, her father's voice grew heavier with anger.

Apollo: "And you’re saying his uncle is blaming him for his father’s death?" her father asked, his voice cold with barely contained fury.

Clawdeen: "Yes," she confirmed.

It turns out her and the girls have done some research and found out what really happened. They have recently fronted Y/n's abusive uncle and he had a lot of things to say.

Flashback

The girls have arrived at Y/n's trashy place as a home. They wanted to confront Y/n's uncle and to see why you was treating him this way.

Frankie: "Well we're here."she said with a hint of nervousness in her voice.

They now stood in front of the door of the hell hole Y/n lives in.

Abbey: "There's no turning back now. We do this for our dear companion." She said mentioning Y/n.

All of them nodded, they were here on a mission to find out the truth, and they were not leaving until they got some answers.

Clawdeen slowly moves her hand up and knocks on the door. They can hear some wrestling on their side as someone is approaching the door.

Ron: "Who is it!?" He said as he opened the door, only to be greeted by the girls.

He clearly wasn't expected to see them today and it's clear he doesn't want them on his property.

Ron: "What the hell do you freaks want?" he said clearly drunk out of his mind.

The girls just stare at him disgusting, this just makes them hate him even more. The girls wanted to knock down that door and beat his ass. It took a lot of courage for them not to hurt him.

Draculaura: "We saw what you did to Y/n." She said has she crossed her arms.

Lagoona: "We saw how you treated your nephew the other day."

The man looks at them for a few moments before rolling his eyes. He was trying to act like nothing was going on. They clearly see through his lying eyes, they all knew that he was a liar.

Ron: "I don't know what you girls are talking about." He said trying to close the door.

Before he could even close the door, Cleo slammed her heel against the door frame, preventing him from closing it.

Cleo: "Don't play dumb with us! We have proof of what you did to him!" She said as she began to raise her voice.

Ghoulia: "We are not dumb like you."she groans and zombie language.

The man looks at them with annoyance on his face. The girls were angry at this man, they could easily see that he was trying to hide it. Although they were falling for it. All of them had seen it and had proof of his abuse.

Clawdeen: "Why the hell did you abuse your own nephew!" She shouted with rage.

The man looks at the girls before he begins to raise his voice.

Ron: "Why? It's because he took something for me. So it's payback for killing my brother!" He shouted with rage.

The girls stood there shocked, they were all in disbelief from his words.

Frankie: "You... Are a sick man."she said as her voice started to tremble.

Abbey: "Y/n doesn't deserve to be treated poorly by a man like you." She says, a hint of venom in her voice.

The man started to get irritated before he started shouting at them. He was clearly annoyed with them asking them all these questions.

Ron: "You want him so badly? Fine then! Take him, tell him not to come back here! Eat that stupid useless little bastard for all I care!" He shouted before he slammed the door in their faces.

The girls stand there with the rage before banging on the door.

Clawdeen: "Don't worry you fatass! He'll be staying with us now!" She shouted as she banged her fist on the door.

Draculaura: "YEAH! He doesn't need a piece of trash of an uncle like you!" She shouted.

After yelling for about a few more minutes the girls walked off.

Flashback Ended

Clawdeen: "And it's ridiculous. Y/n was just a little kid when it happened. He was in daycare! His uncle has no right to put that on him."

There was silence on the other end for a moment before Clawdeen’s father spoke again.

Apollo: "I’m getting involved. This isn’t right. No child should suffer for something that was out of their control."

The girls looked at each other, determination in their eyes. They weren’t just going to sit back and let Y/n suffer anymore.

Lagoona: "We’re going to make sure he never has to go back there again," she said firmly.

Clawdeen’s father sighed.

Apollo: "I’ll see what legal action we can take. In the meantime, make sure Y/n knows he has a home with people who care about him. He needs to understand that he’s not alone."

Clawdeen nodded, her grip on the phone tightening.

Clawdeen: "We’ll make sure he knows."

As the night at the campsite continued, Y/n felt a sense of belonging he hadn’t felt in a long time. The boys weren’t just friends—they were family. And when he got back, he had no idea that his real family was waiting for him, ready to fight for him and give him the home he deserved.
