Father walked closer to me with a broken bottle. Closer and closer he came and I backed into a corner. He slashed it on my left arm. He smashed the bottle above me and the shards pierced into my skin. I screamed out and he continued to yell into my fox ears. Suddenly the people burst through the door. One man tackled my father while two others put me on a stretcher. 

"Aleah Connor we are taking you to a hospital."

"Your father won't hurt you ever again."

I heard the sirens and was blinded by a bright light. I came to it to see my neighbor. She just kept apologizing that she hadn't find out sooner. When I was being brought to the emergency room, they told me my magic had been damaged in his torment. The surgery was successful, but my golden eyes now had a brown tint. The government would pay for everything since I was the only fox hybrid. They were going to cut me up for science but since I was abused, no one could bring themselves to do it. Even though I'm only thirteen, they decided to enroll me into a high school. To conceal my secret, they gave me a cap made by the monster king. When I put it on, my ears and tail would disappear. 

"Aleah Connor we are gonna put you in Underhigh."
