I knocked on John's door. We were supposed to be working on our project.

When he answered the door he didn't have glasses on and he looked more like when we first started dating. He was beautiful...

John P.O.V.

When I answered the door Alex was basically drooling over me. I'm not even being narcissistic- he keeps looking me up and down...I snap my fingers in front of his face.

"I'm up here" I say clearly uncomfortable
"S-sorry" he murmured
"Well when you're done drooling you can come inside so we can work on the project." I say.
"I- ok" he says stepping inside

Samuel and Lafayette are here. They got partnered up together. To be honest- I ship it. I've been trying to get Lafayette to ask Samuel out forever.

Brothers just don't listen, ya know?

"I didn't know that they were here-" Alexander started. Lafayette is his ex and Samuel hates him so....

I sat on the couch. We were making a timeline of ocean life in the Caribbean Sea. Alex was doing research and I was painting our board and decorating it. I was drawing an octopus.

"John can you draw me a starfish later?" Samuel asked
"Sure!" I smiled

Samuel winked at me. There are a few rumors that he likes me and it makes me really uncomfortable because he's my best friend.

I kept painting the timeline like an ocean.

"We just finished. I'm gonna go home" Lafayette says "Seeya later mon petit frère" he added ruffling my hair
"Bye!" I waved

I hated when he messed with my hair and called me 'little brother' but I never said anything about it.

I looked over and caught Alex staring at me again. He's making me uncomfortable.

He broke up with me. He claimed I never did anything for him and that I never loved him. So why can't he stop acting like I'm Beyoncé?

What does he want? For me to start singing lemonade and dye my hair blond?

I get annoyed and confront him about it.

"Will you stop staring at me?!" I snapped
"S-sorry" he stuttered
"Sorry for snapping but you're making me uncomfortable.." I sighed
"No...I understand. It's completely fine" he mumbled going back to taking notes

I finished painting the box. I cut out three of the sides and put plastic over it and made the inside of it look like an aquarium.

I helped do the rest of the research until we finished it.

The next day everyone was excited about prom. I don't know why they didn't have prom earlier. I don't think our school had the money to host prom this year. They still wanted us seniors to have a prom this year though since we're graduating in like two weeks.

All year I had been looking forward to going to prom with Alex. I doubt anyone's going to ask me to prom.

"John?" Samuel said from behind me
"Yeah?" I smiled turning around. Incase I haven't mentioned- Samuel is my best friend.
"Would you maybe want to go to prom together?" He asked nervously
"Sure! You can join me, Hercules, and Peggy's friends!"
"Oh um..."
"Cmon! It'll be fun! Me and Peggy already planned it and I said I would bring my friends too" I beamed
"Okay..."

Everyone around was whispering and laughing. Samuel ran off. I was so confused.

Everyone kept saying Samuel got 'rejected', which isn't true! He asked if he could go with me and I said yes. Why can't my best friend join my friend group?

Samuel just moved to this school a few months ago...why does he have to get picked on?

"I think Samuel wanted you to go to prom with him. Like a couple" Peggy said coming over to me
"Wh-what? Why?"
"John you're so oblivious" Peggy sighed rolling her eyes at me
"What do you mean?" I was really confused
"Only you don't see it" she said before walking away

I'm not oblivious.
