"My tribe comes first, even before my own wants"
Name: "My name is Koi. It's a strong name that also means Panther, which seems to suit me."
Nickname: "Mother and the elders sometimes still call me Pup but mostly for teasing."
Age: "Mother likes to tease me, always likes to remind me that in my prime of my age, I should be having more fun." Koi is 24 years old. He is almost at the age where he can challenge his father for his place as leader, but he wants to wait as long as he can due to his nerves.
Sexuality: " . . ." Koi is very private about these kinds of things as he fears he will be looked down upon by the rest of the tribe. He is Demi-sexual as he wants to make sure his partner will be someone he wants to stick with for the rest of his life. However, this is a bit difficult due to how the tribe works, especially when it comes to mating and choosing one's mate.
Species: "Human, what else would I be?"
Personality: Koi can be a bit hard headed and stubborn, just like his Father, which makes sense, especially due to the fact his father is the leader of the tribe and he is next in line. However, he did gain his mother's sense of humor and curiosity, making him a bit more relaxed when it came down to things. Once he was born, he was told just how important it was when he would become chief and continued to lead the tribe once his father would no one feel the need to lead. Koi knew he had a big responsibility and role to live up to, and even at a young age, he seemed to understood that. In his teen years, he was quick to learn how to hunt and fight. He wished to be a leader who could feed his people and make sure that his people were safe. He didn't wish to be viewed as weak and disappoint the tribe or his family. However, he does try not to get too stressed about it as he still has quite a bit to learn and knows that a good leader can't be stubborn all the time. He makes sure to spend time with the rest of the tribe and has a reminder of what he will be protecting when he becomes chief.
Likes: He likes to spend time with his family and learn from them. He learns from his father how to be a good leader. How a leader must know when to be strong and when to compromise and help others. He learns from his mother how to tend to the people of the tribe, to listen to the voices around him for advice and guidance when he needs it.
When he's not learning from his mother and father, he will help around with the tribe. He will gladly take on tasks such as going for a hunt and bring back a meal, to helping with the pups and little ones in the nursery. When he does manage to get some free time away from the tribe and not doing any chores, Koi likes to explore. He likes to run around the forest and find new items such as plants or rocks and bring them back home to learn more about them. Other times, Koi likes to find a good resting spot and be one with the environment around him. He will gladly take a rest in a tall tree or next to a stream, basking in the warm sun. He also loves to spend time with Koda, his beloved female wolf friend. He enjoys to rough play with her or even a simple game of chase if they have the time.
Dislikes: Koi dislikes it when other young males of the tribe, jab, or make fun at him. They would say things like he would be a bad chief or that he was pampered due to him being next in line. He also dislikes it when he feels like he's being kept inside for too long, he enjoys the outdoors much more than inside a hut. Koi also dislikes it when he isn't able to bring back something from a hunt, as he trained hard to gave the skills he has gained and wants to make sure others know of his determination and pride.
Family: Koi has a father and mother, he is an only child.
Pets: "She's more than a pet to me. She's family by this point." Koi has a young brown furred wolf named Koda. He had found her as a young pup and raised her when he couldn't find her pack. Koda is very loyal to Koi and his family and will help him when it comes to tracking and hunting.
Mental/physical health: Koi can get a bit stressed out when thinking about his future, knowing that everyone will look to him for answers and guidance. He tries to keep a cool head and luckily hasn't experienced any panic attacks but he's gotten close before.
Appearance/description of how they look: Above! In the winter months, he wears more furs and cloth to combat the cold weather.
Backstory: Koi was born about a year or so after his father had become chief, he was the first pup of that season as well. His parents were overjoyed to have a pup of their own and one to show the world too. As Koi was growing up, he was treated like a normal pup. He would play with the other pups his age and help his mother with easy tasks around their home. However, little Koi was a curious pup and seemed to get himself into trouble every now and then. Around the age of four, Koi had slipped away from the nursery and started to explore the land around his home. He climbed over a fallen tree, run his fingers over some plants and didn't stop wondering until he heard a snap of a twig. Koi stopped in his tracks and looked around in slight fear, not seeing anything around but having the feeling of being watched. He then studdenly began to run back towards the tribe and he heard a growl as he ran. He then tripped and looked back to see a panther jumping straight at him, he braced himself but soon felt nothing. He then looked over and saw his father's spear in the panther's side. Apparently his father gotten news of his son's disappearance and didn't waste any time trying to find him. The panther growled and tried to attack his father but other hunters of the tribe stepped in and continued the battle with the wild cat. It wasn't long before Koi was safe in his father's arms and the panther was laying dead on the ground. That is Koi's earliest memory of seeing the tribe work as a whole, to see the tribe protect and care for one another. Every since that day, Koi began to learn and train to become a good leader like his father and the leaders before him. Now, he is almost at the age where he will start to lead the tribe but he feels that he isn't ready but perhaps something will change that point of view.
Extra information: This is important!
Koi was made to be in a specific universe where there are omegas, alphas and betas. However he doesn't have to be if you aren't comfortable with it and just want to rp with a tribal oc.
If you do choose to rp with Koi in the omega universe then Koi will be an alpha like his father, his mother will be a beta.
Either way! The tribe have specific rules, such as little ones or pups (little ones are babies while pups are considered toddlers or children until they complete their right of passage) are to remain in the tribe and help with chores when or if capable.
Another rule for pups is to listen to not only their parents but anyone in the tribe that is caring for them. Such as the elders or other tribe members, the tribe tend to raise the children or pups together to make sure they are safe and protected.
All families have their own hut or tree as they can choose which they prefer. Some families have both a hut and a tree due to the hot summer months and cold winter ones. It's not uncommon for two families to share a hut as well during the winter but most families stay in their own hollowed out trees above the ground. They live this way to have privacy and also to keep themselves safe from most predators. They also do this to keep their homes comfortable as they don't have to do much to decorate besides having furs and cloth for sleeping. Once an adult, they can leave their family's hut and/or tree and get their own place.
Pups are considered adults or treated as an adult once they complete their right of passage. The males will have to go into the wilderness for three days or less and come back to the tribe with one big game animal, alone, to prove themselves capable of pulling their own weight and can provide for the rest of the tribe. The female right of passage is leaving the tribe and having five days to find specific ingredients needed to make an ointment that the tribe used on the sick or injured. However this is a challenge as the ingredients can be difficult to find or even acquire but when they succeed then they can return to the tribe and be recognized as an adult.
Once they are recognized as adults, they then can participate in hunts, collecting herbs, and even festivities in certain festivals. The main thing one can do after being recognized by the elders and tribe as an adult is being able to participate in the festival of Aho, which means the festival of love. During this week long event, members of the tribe can choose who they wish for their mate to be but if one or more people want the same mate, they battle it out. They start by having the contestants put on paint to show who is participating and to give them flare as they battle it out for their hopefully soon mate. Whoever is the final one standing can mate with that person but the person that they fought for can also deny the victor if they so choose.
So, depending on if we rp this in the omgeaverse or not, this will make this a bit complicated. In omegaverse, the tribe is totally fine for people to have the same sex as a mate as even male omegas or betas can get pregnant and have pups. Typically, the ones that are doing the fighting during the festival are the alphas and some betas. They typically fight over which omega or beta they want to mate with. If we are doing this NOT in the omgeaverse, then the tribe will not be very accepting of same sex mates as they wouldn't be able to reproduce. This also means that during the festival, anyone can fight for anyone's hand as long as they are single.
Also in the omegaverse, alphas will get first pick when it comes to most things, such as first to get food or first in line to take baths. Betas get second choice while omegas get last as the omegas tend to help with the pups most often. Alphas and betas tend to be more separated from the omegas once they become adults as they cannot be in any sort of romantic (including +18) relationship until the festival of Aho but friendships are totally fine.
If you have any more questions about rules of the tribe then don't be afriad to ask! Also I should mention that Koi's tribe doesn't use modern technology such as electricity and such, think more of stone tools but they do have gardens and some domesticated animals.
Scenario 1: You're a researcher and your latest project is to make contact with a tribe that has been isolated for thousands of years but you and your team finally got the green light for this project. The tribe lived on a remote piece of land that was quite big (about the size of Greenland for reference!) Which your government and the rest of the world had left alone due to the people that had lived there. Apparently now seemed like a good time to try a peaceful approach and possibly gain knowledge on the people who live on the land. It's didn't take long for you and your team to arrive on the land and make a small base camp near where the boat was in case of an emergency. Your team wanted to document the plant and animal life but you were too excited to do anything else but to try and make contact with the people on the land. You made an excuse to separate from the rest of your team to go ahead and map out the land, allowing you to try and find evidence of people. You walked for quite a long time, taking in the beautiful forest that surrounded you while also looking for anything showing of where the people may live. You walked until your feet were sore and tried and you decided to finally sit on a fallen tree and take a rest, grabbing a water canteen from your bag and taking a sip. As you took a sip, you heard a twig snap, making you look around you in confusion. You didn't see anything but thought you heard something restling the bushes in front of you, taking your full attention. You then slowly began to put the canteen back in your bag but you then heard a whistle to your right...you then slowly looked over and saw...a young man, holding a bow and arrow, pointed right at you. Koi was ready to strike as he saw you as a threat, what do you do?
Scenario 2: You were a hiker, you loved to push yourself to the limits and see the world's beauty! One of your friends mentioned of a new experience that was opening up for tourists, apparently they were doing some vacation spots near where a tribe lived. One of their main attractions was being able to hike and experience nature like the people who lived there, to be more connected to where history comes from. You thought it could be exciting so you booked a ticket and soon enough, you headed off to experience this new adventure! When you arrived, it wasn't what you quite imagined. It was a small group of people and two guides, you each had your own tent to sleep in but it wasn't anything fancy. You didn't mind as you also enjoyed camping so this felt very natural for you! It wasn't long before one of the guides was taking a small group for a hike and you just had to join, you packed your essentials into a small backpack and hit the trail with the others. The guide warned you that you MUST always stay on the trail and don't leave the group as the tribe people don't like strangers and could see you as a threat. That put you off a little, but you soon forgot as your group began to hike. There was beautiful plant life growing and thriving. Your group also saw some beautiful colored birds, singing and flying around. After awhile of hiking, the group was taking a break and you decided to wander a little as you hoped to see more wildlife if you were alone. You didn't think you walked too far as you could still hear the group softly in the distance, you were looking up at the beautiful trees and birds but you didn't see the rock by your foot. You ended up tripping on the rock and falling to the forest floor, hitting your head on a branch and blacking out...
It had to be a few hours later as you slowly began to wake up to the sounds of a small fire crackling and something on your head. You didn't move your body yet as your eyes adjusted to the darkness, seeing that it was night time already. You then moved your head slightly and saw a small fire going but also... a young man sitting across from you and seemingly going through your backpack of stuff. Based on the clothing he wore and the tattoos he had, you assumed that he was one of the people from the nearby tribe. You then immediately remembered what the guides had warned you about and got worried, what do you do?!
Scenario 3: make up your own!
