Meet Alister. He is an inventor from London. He is also a hybrid of a Black tiger and a Kamodo dragon. Alister is a good guy and does good deeds despite what people say otherwise. Alister's work is focused around the steampunk theme although none of his projects actually run on steam power.

Alister often wears ones of these. Usually its the skull cloak.

Your character is a bar tender in a local pub/bar. They're out serving drinks when Alister walks in. His hat is tilted down so his face couldn't be seen but they noticed his tail was furry but reptilian like.  "Oy. May I get a pint of ale?" Alister asked politely as he sat down at an empty table.
