Chapter 17

I grinned at her.

"Good. Maybe then you'll actually be able to surprise me" I said and she growled in annoyance at me. "Anyways, I have a friend who is going to be coming through this forest with a bunch of her other friends, and from what I know they are all perfectly capable in killing you rather easily and have no mind for immediate mercy"

"Then why do you want to go near them?" She asked looking at me like I was crazy and I just grinned again.

"Because it's going to be fun messing with them on the way to their location and also I am immortal, so unless they find my weak point then they are literally unable to kill me" I said grinning at Rubidia and the Phanther looked at me fearfully once again. "Don't worry I am not mad at you so don't worry about me killing you without reason, but I do have one condition. If you are to encounter them. Don't hurt the one that smells of silver and nature."

"Why?" The Phanther asked I smiled at her and brandished my claws.

"Because if you do I will separate your head from your shoulders so fast your thoughts won't be able to process it" I threatened letting her fully see my teeth and claws as I smiled dangerously at her. Making sure to look her in the eyes to further show that I meant what I said and there was nothing she could do about it.

"I-I won't" she said stepping back and I nodded and looked back in the direction of the forest that I had come from.

"Now hopefully they'll be on their way and we'll be able to catch them on the way to the village me and my mate tore apart a few days ago" I said and the Phanther looked at me in shock. "What? Did you hear about it or something?"

"Yeah. Every creature in the Forrest has heard about the massacre of the humans in the town down south, but we thought that it was just the massacre of a bandit attack upon the other humans previously living there." Rubidia said half whispering as if she was recalling a ghost tale.

"Nope" I grinned, "that was me and my mate having some fun in this new world"

"New world?" The She-Panther cocked her feline head as we walked towards the herd of deer in the distance. Now within scent...for me anyways.

"Yeah, me and my mate aren't from this world" I said casually, swiping at a new tree just to see if I could get a reaction from anything here in this forest. And to warn potential predators following that I was not to be messed with.

"Why'd you do that?!" Rubidia growled. "Now our prey's getting away!"

"Anyways as I was saying me and my mate weren't having the best of times just staying in two places that we already knew almost everything about so we took a little trip through dimensions and, after a little accident during our travels, ended up here in this world.

"Where the first encounter we had with humans was a large group of bandit like humans that had seemingly taken over a small village devoted to farming—" I looked back to see that Rubidia was gone. "—and you're gone"

I shot ahead after her and when I caught up to her she was chasing after the deer that we, well I, had scared off by cutting down a tree. One tree and they've already traveled over thirty miles. What kinds of deer were these?!

"Did you hear anything I was saying?" I growled trotting beside her running form, but all I got in return was a growl of annoyance.

"No. I was too focused on getting our dinner for the night unlike you" she finally said after failing to bite off the head of one of the deer creatures.

"I was stalling on purpose" I growled before shooting ahead and into the midst of the herd. The deer around me slowed down to a crawls as I danced through their ranks. Slitting throats and stabbing hearts, and all just to satisfy the irritated cat that abandoned me mid-story.

Time resumed as I cut the last one's head off accidentally and all of the creatures seemed to freeze in motion before sliding to a stop at my claws. I glared up at the She-Panther panting in the air.

"Are you happy now?" I growled, "oh also why weren't you able to catch these things? They don't seem like much of a challenge for an A ranked Phantom Panther like you."

"Usually they aren't" Rubidia huffed coming down to lay on the earth, "but, no thanks to you, these specific creatures were notified that they were being hunted and so they activated a unique ability of theirs that allows them to move faster than whatever is following after them"

"And?" I cut into the flank of a deer creature beside me and started carving the flesh and fur off of the meat.

"And?!" Rubidia gasped, "You're response to me explaining to you of a creature that is practically impossible to catch is 'And?!'"

"Yeah?" I looked at her to see why she was acting so angry and met the blazing yellow eyes of an Angry Female Feline.

"You know what" she growled going over and tearing off a large chunk of deer, not even stopping to cut off the fur of the creature before eating it like I was. "After we are done with these Stamina Stags, I am going to chase you to the ends of this planet, and back"

——————————————

After our food break Rubidia didn't keep to her word, and instead lay on the ground purring soundly with her limbs splayed in every direction. Something that didn't look natural in a cat like creature, no matter how human-like they may sound.

I burned the carcasses that we left behind and found that my fire wasn't a normal color like blue or white, but a mix of Black and Purple. Making it seem like a flowing stream of space in the form of a Cosmic Inferno.

When that was done I caught Rubidia looking at me strangely.

"What?" I asked cocking my head in her direction, and she just shook her head and got to her feet.

"No predator that I know of burns their prey after it has been feasted upon. Not even humans let good materials like bones go to waste" she lept into the air and looked down upon me from her invisible floating platform of air.

"Do you really have to look down upon me like that?" I growled turning towards the direction of which I assumed Artemis and her group of assassin friends would be right now.

"Just because it makes me feel nice" she replied smugly and I growled. Why do Feline creatures and dragons have to be so similar in terms of wanting to be the best over other races?

"Of course" I groaned before looking back to where I sensed Artemis was, and then I realized that those deer creatures were heading towards her all this time. I groaned and bashed my head into a tree, but it didn't seem to like that and the cracking noises made by it only made me feel even more embarrassed as it crashed to the ground.

"What was that about?" Rubidia asked a little lower than she was before but still higher than my eye level.

"I just realized that we could've let the deer ambush them first and then followed afterwards, or at least killed them a little closer to get them at least a bit spooked about something big potentially coming." I mumbled into the trunk left behind but either Rubidia didn't care or she lost interest mid-way because she was now knawing on a nearby branch.

"So are we gonna surprise attack them or not?" She asked and I took my head from the shattered tree trunk and shook the shards of bark and wood from my scales.

"Yeah, but we aren't going to attack remember" I said looking at her only to get a nonchalant answer.

"Yeah. Yeah. We're only taunting them until they reach the location" she flinched her paws forwards showing that she was getting bored of where this was going, "and then I'm staying behind while you fight them so I don't get killed. Yeah. Yeah"

"When you say it like that it just makes it sound like it's more of a punishment than fun" I whined and it seemed to be her turn to grin at me.

"Well I don't see much fun in what's going to happen so yeah I'm not that interested in how 'fun' it's going to be. It's not going to be in the slightest bit fun from my standpoint" she growled the last bit and knower at the branch harder making it crack under the pressure and finally snap from the main portion of the plant.

"Okay. Let's go" I said and we were off in the direction of Artemis and her band of assassins.

———————<3rd POV>———————

A group of seven stalked quickly through the forest around them. Their target was a village nearby that had rumored to have been massacred by some strong monster.

This group was The Dragon Assassins, and with their new member and their pure show of speed and strength as they ran through the forest made it known to every creature around that they were not to be messed with.

They were in the usual formation that they usually traveled in but with an added member mixed in: Raea and Trilithony at the front for close combat, following was Belle and Charm, the archers of the group, and after them were the longer ranged snipers: Trixie and Sam but with their newest member, Artemis, traveling behind them as a sort of reassurance to the two just in case something was able to get in close to the longer ranged attackers.

"I thought that you said that it would take at least three days to reach the town?" Artemis asked. And Raea looked back at her and smiled shyly.

"Yeah I might of misinterpreted the distance we could travel a little" she scratched the back of her neck, but started to slow down a little. "Okay we can stop here seeing that we are able to get there sooner than expected. We don't want to be fighting a creature no matter how weak if we are all exhausted from the run from town to our destination"

"Okay" was all everyone said before beginning to grab things to set up camp with. Belle and Trixie went to grab firewood. While Sam and Raea went to go and hunt for some food. Trilithony brought out materials for setting up shelters and Charm went to Scout the area as routine. Artemis just looked at the now empty space around her in shock. That was faster than her hunters had ever done, and while most of time it was because the girls kept arguing over who had what it was still shocking.

"Wow you all must do this a lot" Artemis said going into her own dimensional storage and pulling out her silver tent that she used for the night. She had more for everyone else, but she didn't know if she should just enchant the one to fit everyone or if she should get out pretty tents for the others.

Trilithony watched as Artemis just pulled a large strange contraption and set it on the ground. All she could think was of what else this new woman could do, or couldn't do more like it.

"Trilithony?" Artemis asked causing the person in question to snap out of their shock and realize that she been asked a question.

"Uh. Yeah we do this a lot actually" she said, Raea likes to keep everyone on high alert at all times so we don't grow comfortable with what we have, so she has us go into an unknown forest in pairs or alone at least once a month and as a team once a week, except for when we all are on our own that is" Trilithony said and Artemis hummed with interest.

"Wow" was all Artemis could think of to say to what Trilithony had told her and it was the exact same thing that Trilithony was able to say as she looked at the strange contraption that Artemis had brought out.

"What is that?" A new voice rang out in the silence, and the two looked over to see that Charm was walking around the Tent that Artemis had brought out.

"It's called a tent" Artemis said, "it's sort of a mobile camp shelter that can be packed and set up easily." Charm and Trilithony looked at the 'tent' in awe. Such a thing existed?

"Do you have more of them or is it just that one?" Charm asked hopefully and Artemis nodded.

"Yeah I have enough for everyone, but even if I only had one it wouldn't matter because I could just enchant it to make the inside big enough for all of us" Artemis said and the two were once more flabbergasted at how easily Artemis said this.

Such a thing was only heard of in cities to make certain buildings taller and bigger than they seemed it wasn't possible for one person to do such a thing alone or at least it shouldn't be.

"Actually now that I think about it, it would be easier to just make one tent fit all of us" Artemis said before looking at the tent and wishing in her mind what she wanted the inside to look like and then looking at Charm and Trilithony.

"Now we all can fit in there, and we can even make things in the tent without worrying about burning it to ash" she said and the two other girls were in total disbelief.

"You mean that all you needed to do was look at the...tent, and now it's big enough for all of us?" Charm asked and Artemis nodded.

The rest of the group started coming back as this was finished being said and with their trained hearing it wasn't that hard to distinguish between what Artemis had said and the strange contraption now in the middle of their campsite.

"Oh and also since the inside is disguised from the outside of the tent, nothing that happens on the inside will be heard or seen from the outside but things on the outside can still be heard from the inside." Artemis was causing everyone's minds to short circuit and by the time they all seemed to understand what was said and what they saw Artemis had already grabbed Trilithony and dragged her along with Charm inside.

"See" was all she said to the two as they looked around at the inside.

;)
Okay I am sorry about doing this to you as I hate cliffhangers, and I don't like being the author to actually use them. But I haven't been able to end with a good one in a while and I also haven't been able to update anything for various reasons (of which you can find on my profile)

But anyways thanks for reading and I am sorry to say that I will more than likely not be updating anything for a WHILE as I have much too many things on my mind at the moment and it's becoming too kind inflicting upon myself.

Thanks for reading all of this (should you get this far) and I wish you a good day/night/week(end).
