<Jungkook POV>

Never had Jungkook stood against his own father. Before the event with his mother, he never had to. They were like best friends, they had a good healthy relationship. After it, it all shifted and revenge took over him, and even consumed Jungkook a little. He never stood against him because they were always on the same side but tonight things have changed. Jungkook had something to fight for that was worth it. Yes, he loved his father, but he was fighting for a cause that was already lost. Jungkook was fighting for his soulmate. It was totally different.

"We must bring a stop to this madness." he says with a serious tone while confronting his father. 

"Are you crazy?! This is all we've been preparing for! This is our destiny!" the older vampire retorts. 

"It's not MY destiny! I chose something else and it's the right one! THIS is not what mother would have wanted! She hated conflicts and you're ruining everything! Stop this before it's too late!"

The father was shocked at the words coming out of his son's mouth. He never heard anything like that before especially coming from Jungkook. 

"You don't know what you're saying! W-What could possibly be worth more than your mother?!"

"My soulmate. And HE is alive." Jungkook knew this was a little harsh and sudden but he kept a serious face as his father's eyes and mouth widen in surprise. 

"A- A soulmate...?"

"Yes... The apprentice of the Kim's clans. I love him, father. And just like you taught me to fight for what we love, I will fight for him and fix this mistake. Nothing can bring mother back... I miss her as much as you do trust me, but this isn't right. I don't want to become a murderer blinded by revenge. I don't want to become a monster. I want to stay with the man I love."

It took a lot of bravery to let all of that out but he felt relieved to get it off his chest. His father was just staring at him speechless. For a moment, it looked like the constant anger in his eyes was replaced by surprise and fear. Finally, the old man realized what he had done for so many years. Finally he realized that he dragged his son into his own madness instead of grieving and helping him like a good father should have. In fact, he felt a little relieved his son had found someone who can stay by his side. 

"Jungkook... I'm sorry... I failed as a father and a husband..." he says looking down in guilt. "Even if this fight was the wrong path, there is no stopping it... It's too late..." 

"We'll see about that." replies Jungkook with determination. Before his father could add anything, Jungkook flies off to where the Jeon and Kim leaders are still fighting. He waits for the right opening and lands in between them.

"STOP!"

The sudden shout made everyone stop to look at the scene. The two heated leaders, despite their surprise, glare at Jungkook angrily. 

"Out of the way kid!" yells Suni.

"You'll regret this." adds Aesoo. 

Jungkook looks at both of them back and forth. Now is not the time to be scared. He notices the other two leaders are listening too. In fact, every pair of eyes were turned towards him, expectantly waiting for him to talk. Jungkook felt a sudden pressure that made him forget how to speak and what he wanted to say. As he was about to panic, his eyes meet Tae's in the crowd. His soulmate gave him a reassuring nod and the elf calmed down. He took a deep breath and turned towards his leader.

"Sir, I am sorry, but this has to stop. Destruction and revenge is not a path I want to take. It is wrong and taken by cowards who fear losing what they have. It's enough. We don't need to take any more lives, or territory. We need to protect what we have. This battle is meaningless."

The leader scoffs, his blood boiling with anger.

"Shut up and move out of the way, this is no time for your stupid speech. Don't make me move you."

Suni was just listening, watching Aesoo and his apprentice stare at each other intensely. Jungkook refused to budge, even when Aesoo threatened him with his spear.

"Move, you idiot!" he yells. Jungkook just stood there. The tension between them was so strong, no one knew what to expect next. Suddenly, Aesoo raises his weapon, ready to hit Jungkook with it. As he was about to attack, lighting fell from the sky right at his feet forcing him to back down. Taehyung... Jungkook glanced with relief in the direction of his soulmate who was now waling towards them. Aesoo did not like that. He threw his spear at Taehyung, who easily zapped it away with one gesture of the hand. He's so badass! 

Taehyung stood between Aesoo and Jungkook and gave him a stern look. 

"Leave." he said simply. "This war is over. Go home. Don't ever come back." 

Suni interrupts; 

"Taehyung what are you doing? We could still win! Are you siding with this enemy??"

"He's not my enemy." he replies with a quick glare in her direction. "Jungkook is my soulmate."

Gasps arise from the crowd as everyone stares at them in surprise. Two enemies destined to fall in love? Could that be possible? Suni slowly puts away her katana, staring at the two boys in shock. 

"I see... So this battle is ending..." she says softly. Taehyung gives her a grateful look. "However, we will never stop defending ourselves, I hope this is clear." she adds, as her apprentice nods in agreement. Jungkook looks over to see if his leader does the same but Aesoo was not done. His eyes were dark with irritation and rage. Uh oh... 

"Ugh... Feelings..." he mumbles while summoning his spear back into his spear. "Always gets the best of even the strongest soldier. But not me. I will never surrender!" he screams while raising his weapon ready to hit Taehyung. He was going too fast for Jungkook or Suni to interfere as all three of them freeze in astoundment. Taehyung shuts his eyes. A sudden cold sensation takes over his body... He hesitate to open his eyes and notices the peak of the weapon was just centimetres away from him, at rest. Aesoo was frozen on the spot. Where did that ice come from...? All of them glance behind the Jeon leader only to see Jungkook's father there, panting with light blue flashing eyes. 

"I was about to run away because I felt like a coward but... then I realized you deserve better than that Jungkook. I want to make it up to you... I want to be a real father like before... I am so sorry... I hope one day you can forgi-" 

Jungkook interrupts him with a tight hug. 

"Thank you for saving him... And for staying..." he says softly with a smile. Finally, he got his father back. Everything was back to normal. While the confused soldiers gather up their stuff and awkwardly leave the battlefield, Jungkook thanked the skies for this miracle. Not only did he get his father back, but he also managed to confront and stop his leader, end the battle, and most importantly protected Taehyung. In fact, it wasn't the skies he should thank, but his soulmate for putting some sense into him. Slowly, he let go of his father and notices the Beta was watching them with a hint of fondness. He walks up to Taehyung, shyly looking down.

"Um... Thanks... For everything... I know you said you can't forgive me yet but I will do anything to reach that point." 

Taehyung gently places a hand on his cheek to look into his eyes. 

"You're already halfway there... Thank you for stopping this... And thank you for being honest... I was so upset at the thought of not being enough for you, but I want you to know you can be honest with me always from now on... Just know you never have to fly alone anymore, I will always have your back as long as you have mine." 

They exchange a fond smile and slowly lean in towards each other but a sudden voice interrupts. 

"Taehyung!" It was Seokjin running at him followed by Namjoon. He throws himself at Tae not even noticing Jungkook and hugs his friend as tight as he can. "Don't ever scare me like that, okay? I thought I was gonna lose you!" 

"Sorry sorry I'll try!" replies Taehyung embarrassed. "Oh um... Have you guys met Jungkook yet?"

"Hey, I'm Namjoon." 

"Hmmm... So it's you..." Seokjin looks at him up and down with squinted eyes. "I swear to God, if you ever break Taehyung's heart again, I will-"

"I don't think that's necessary" interrupts Namjoon while holding Seokjin back. They both start arguing in their corner while Taehyung tries to stop them but gets ignored.

Jungkook giggles at the scene. Tae notices and smiles. He had the cutest laugh he has ever heard. I want to make him laugh forever...
