Chapter 3: Waking Up

Flashback before All Might arrives at USJ

Iida managed to get back to UA and find All Might, now back in muscle form, who was talking to Nezu in the teacher lounge.

"All... Might!" Iida huffed. He was out of breath from running for so long and felt like he was about to pass out. "Villains... USJ... Priestess..."

All Might's eyes went wide as did Nedzu's.

"Priestess?!" the number one hero demanded. "Did she hit anyone with her Quirk?"

Before he could answer All Might's question, Iida fell unconscious from low oxygen intake. All Might's fists clenched tightly.

"Let's go," he stated. "Gather every hero you can, we need to get there and fast."

Flashback end, present time

When the heroes busted through the doors, there were three things that All Might saw. The first thing All Might saw were three of his students falling unconscious. He then saw the dead beast near the bodies of Mashirao and Izuku. The last thing he saw was the three villains, most particularly, Priestess.

"What did you do, Priestess!" he bellowed, angry beyond measure.

"Something that I now regret!" Priestess shouted right back. "I have created monsters, All Might! Nothing can beat them now! Not even you!"

With those final words, Kurogiri opened up a warp gate and took himself plus his associates and the body of the Nomu back to the bar from which they came from.

"W-What happened?" Sero asked. "Midoriya, Ojiro, and Uraraka just went crazy!"

"As did Hagakure," Todoroki spoke as he walked up the steps with a, now visible, Tooru Hagakure in his arms. Her form was covered by Todoroki's shirt. "Her Quirk had also changed. I had to give her my shirt to cover her."

Midnight walked over and took Tooru from Shoto's arms.

"Call an ambulance," All Might told one of the heroes. "I'll handle the press on this. In the meantime, we need to make sure the students are alright. We need to make sure no side effects will harm the ones who were hit with Soul Revelations. Understood?"

Snipe, a cowboy-themed hero, did as All Might said to do, the number 1 Pro-Hero jumped from the entrance to the downed bodies of his students plus the dead beast nearby.

"What happened today, Young Midoriya?" All Might asked. "Why target you and the others when she could have targeted Aizawa or even Thirteen?"

All Might picked up the two teens and jumped back to the entrance before setting them down.

"A little help here!" Kaminari shouted as he and Jirou dragged Momo Yaoyorozu towards the group.

Present Mic ran down to the end of the steps and picked up the busty teen before carrying her up the steps and setting her beside the other victims.

"The ambulance is on the way," Snipe said. "It will take a few minutes to get here, however."

All Might nodded and looked at the five unconscious students.

"We need to know how they were affected," he said at last. "But we won't know until they wake up."

"What the fuck happened to them?" Bakugo demanded.

"They were hit by the villain known as Priestess," Thirteen informed them. "Her Quirk makes her targets remember their most recent past life. This causes them to either attack their allies or their enemies, sometimes both."

"There is a general rule concerning Priestess's quirk," Present Mic stated. "If the target attacks their allies and any civilians nearby, then they will lose their license and cease being a hero. However, since that didn't happen with these five, they can still continue their training for their Hero Career."

"But what happened to them?" Mina asked frantically. "Midori had killed every villain in the shipwreck zone and he and Ojiro killed the beast down there. With Quirks that we have never seen them have!"

Mina was close to having a panic attack after all the adrenaline from earlier was gone from her system. All Might looked at his students with a soothing smile, and told them, "Everything will be alright. I have encountered something like this before with an American hero known as Chronos Rose, he has told me before that if this ever happens again to call him."

Unknown to them, Bakugo's eyes widened at the hero's name. He recognized that hero's name. That was the man he considered an uncle. And the father of his best friend. The father of Izuku Midoriya, Hisashi Midoriya.

League of Villains hideout

"Damn those brats," Shigaraki growled out. "I'll kill them and end their careers early!"

"Calm down Shigaraki," Kurogiri told him.

"I honestly can't believe I'd ever say this," Priestess began before downing a shot of whiskey. "But I agree with you, Shigaraki. Those kids, especially the green-haired one, need to be put down. They are too powerful and will only grow with time."

An image of Izuku flashed through her mind and she could only wonder why he looked so familiar to her.

"Why did you panic?" Kurogiri asked her.

Priestess felt a chill run down her spine. The memories she saw, the way he broke... It made her remember the first person she hit with her quirk. Her own brother. She felt like crying from seeing those memories.

"Those memories," Priestess spoke as images of the hell she saw flashed through her mind. "Were hell. The things he did, what he saw... Were supposed to be things we think are impossible even by today's standards."

"What do you mean?" a voice from a TV that read 'No Signal' asked.

"Sensei," Shigaraki said.

Priestess sighed.

"I will tell you what I saw, but I will be leaving because I will not be dealing with them," Priestess spoke to the mysterious voice. "It all started with the Fourth Holy Grail War with Kiritsugu Emiya."

Unknown place

Izuku found himself in a new place. One he never saw before, but it felt dear to him. As if he knew it by name and every single one of its corners. He was on a barren hill, surrounded by thousands, upon thousands of weapons. He looked above and saw a floating, flat boulder with a wall as its back that had 8 seats, 7 of which had people sitting in them. He didn't know who they were, but he knew that they were important. Very important.

He looked back down and the only way to describe this place was a battlefield. And where the swords were, was where the dead soldiers were supposed to be laying on the field of battle. Before he took a step, he heard someone say, "So... You're the ninth."

Everything then went white.

Hero Hospital; Hosu, Japan

Emerald green eyes opened and the first thing he noticed was that the lights were bright. Very bright. Izuku sat up and looked around. He was in a hospital room. He looked at his hand as the dream flashed through his mind.

'That place...' he thought. 'What was that? The barren lands... The swords... The floating boulder... What was all that?'

A man then walked into the room. Izuku looked at him and his eyes went wide.

"D-Dad?!"

The man, Hisashi Midoriya, smiled softly and said, "Hey kiddo. How are you feeling? Sorry if I can't give you a hug after so long, as you are in a hospital bed."

Izuku smiled back at his dad as if to reassure him that it's fine.

"Tired," Izuku replied honestly. "But also strangely energized..."

Hisashi sighed.

"Yeah," the older Midoriya said. "That's how I felt when I was hit by her Quirk."

"You went against that woman before?" Izuku asked, his eyes going wide. "How did you win?"

"She got away," Hisashi told his son.

The two went silent until Izuku asked, "And my friends?"

Hisashi sighed. "As far as I know, they have just woken up and are now reeling from the fact that they now hold their past memories along with their powers. How are you holding up?"

Izuku frowned.

"I saw what the world was really like, Dad," he said softly. "There are no such things as white and black. Just grey. You can't save everyone. For every one you save, another dies. Save 5, another 10 dies. Even if it means ten die at my hands, five people will still live... Does this make me a bad person, dad?"

Hisashi looked at his son sadly. His own memories showed him the real world as well. And what being a hero is truly about. However, he was older and could handle it better. This time was different, however. His son, a 17-year-old hero in training, has seen what the world is really like. All of the darkness that is kept out of the media, all of the deaths that the government keeps under wraps. All of it.

"It doesn't make you a bad person, Izuku," Hisashi told him. "It just makes you a better hero. You know what the darkness is like, you have seen it first hand. As long as you feel remorse at the death of someone you had a direct hand in, then you are not a monster. That makes you human. So chin up. We still need to talk about this with your friends."

Izuku nodded and attempted to stand up, but he nearly fell but he was caught by his father before he could hit the floor.

"You'll be dizzy for a bit," Hisashi informed his son. "It should pass after a few hours."

Izuku nodded and, with help from his dad, he managed to get to the bathroom in his room.

With Ochako

Ochako, with help from a nurse, managed to get to the bathroom where she saw a blonde girl about two years younger than her, her dark green eyes looking into her brown eyes. Time seemed to slow down as she stared at the young girl in front of her. Before long, the girl turned into a light blue mist before the mist entered Ochako's body.

Upon the mist being absorbed into Ochako's body, the heroine in training immediately felt like she was whole for the first time in her life. Like the thing she was missing has finally been found after all this time.

'That girl was the same person from those... Memories?' Ochako thought to herself. 'Yes. Those were memories. But why do I have them? How do I have them? Was it because of that villainess's Quirk? It has to be.'

Her mind flashed to the sword she saw in the memories. But then she also remembered all of the death and the mistakes she made in her rule as King. She couldn't stomach it and she soon dry heaved, the guilt burning through her like a wildfire.

"Wh-why?" she asked no one in particular. "Why did I, no she, do that? Why give up your emotions when they are what make you human?"

She then heard her mother's voice outside the bathroom door.

"Ocha-chan?" her mother asked. "Are you alright?"

Ochako took deep breaths to calm herself, however, the guilt still burned through her. And it took a few moments for her to calm down.

"Y-Yeah mama," Ochako said. "I-I'm fine."

With Mashirao

Mashirao was laying in his hospital bed staring out at the city out the window when he heard footsteps walk up to his bed. He turned his head and saw an extremely beautiful woman with long purple hair and red eyes, wearing a full-body suit that highlights her curvaceous body. In her hands was a red spear that gave off an unbelievable amount of bloodlust. But the teen wasn't afraid of the spear, in fact, he had a grin on his face, one that made him look like a wild beast.

The grin was then wiped off his face at the look the woman was giving him. A disappointed scowl, as if he was in trouble with her.

"What?" he asked.

The woman didn't answer him and instead just stared at him with unblinking eyes. Her exotic look sparked a memory in his head. A memory that he didn't even know he had.

"Scathach," he whispered. He then blinked. "How the hell did I know that... Wait, that villain's Quirk... These memories... They're connected are they not?"

He looked at the woman who didn't say a thing, didn't do a thing. She just stood there looking at him with an impassive frown on her face. She then turned into a blue mist and left behind the spear that was in her hand. The spear then turned blue mist as well, but instead of vanishing from the room like the woman did, it was absorbed into Mashirao.

Then the room was empty once more. Just Mashirao and the medical equipment, no weapons, no other person.

"W-What is going on?" he asked himself.

With Tooru

Tooru had just woken up from a little nap when she noticed that she could see her reflection in the window to her left.

"I-I can see what I look like?" she asked herself, she was pale which was to be expected, her hair was short, about shoulder length, and was light purple in color and her eyes were a dark violet. "H-How?"

Her mind then flashed to the USJ and being hit by Priestess's Quirk.

"That's how," Tooru muttered. "I was hit with that Quirk whatever it does..."

A nurse walked in then. Tooru looked at the nurse and smiled slightly. The nurse smiled back before she seemed to change shape into a young woman in her mid-twenties who looked like an older version of Tooru. But she was wearing a form-fitting black outfit.

The older Tooru just looked at her and smiled before turning into a blue mist and being absorbed into the young woman. Tooru's eyes glowed blue and she smiled softly.

"So that is what happened," she muttered. "My past life... All the death that had happened, the suffering I felt... I'll become a hero to stop that. To stop the suffering I felt and to keep it from happening all over."

With Momo

When Momo Yaoyorozu woke up, she found herself in a bedroom that reminded her of her own room in her home. She slowly got up and looked around. It was just as big if not bigger than her own room. She felt the fabric of a nightdress she was wearing and it felt expensive. Extremely so.

She got out of the bed and walked out of the room, before heading down the stairs and into a library where she saw a young woman, about 18 or 19. With black hair in twin ponytails and wearing a red shirt with a black skirt. She was reading a book on obscure magecraft. How the heroine in training knew this, she did not know. The young woman then looked at Momo and smiled slightly before everything around her dissolved into a blue mist and was then absorbed into the Yaoyorozu heir. That was when everything went white.

With Hisashi and the UA teachers

"How are they doing, Chronos Rose?" Present Mic asked Hisashi Midoriya.

"My son is doing fine," Hisashi replied. "However, the others were not awake when I saw them so I will have to wait for tomorrow to talk with them."

"Priestess is still at large though," a woman wearing a dominatrix outfit stated. "How do we know they won't be going after her?"

Chronos Rose sighed. "We don't know much about their past lives so we won't know how they will react now. Their personalities will have changed somewhat, enough to see the differences anyways. But from what I could tell from the story the others told, they will be heroes. I honestly worried about Izuku however."

"Why him?" Vlad Blood asked.

"He killed many times in his past life," Hisashi told them. "He has seen hell and has felt the blood that laid on his hands then. He will be different. If he thinks that a villain will need to be put down, he'll do it. Without hesitation."

"Why?" Aizawa asked, his eyes narrowed.

"Because that is his instinct telling him to take them down," Hisashi said, before pulling out his wallet and then a card. "He has been through literal hell. There is no villain alive that can put him through as much hell as he was put through in his past life. Trust me on that. So when he sees an opportunity, he will put his enemies six feet under. Without any hesitation."

This put everyone into a silence that engulfed the entire room.
